The next phase of dongle hell: you have to carry around a charging pad with you.

They better include a wireless charger that takes Lightning or USB.
Oh wait, never mind. They'll probably sell as an extra for $100.

No one asked for 5G, we just need better 4G coverage which can easily do 70mb+ from experience, and it has even more potential

do we need 5g?
4g is pretty fast, no lag watching 1080p video is enough for me.

Might to check which kernel is running for the Ryzen drivers.
I would suggest 18 over 16.

I have the mi 9SE which I like personally because it isn't so huge. I guess the note 8 should do fine for all the basic stuff as well and it's cheaper.

In desktops I would opt for the 18.04 just for better 3D and 2D drivers

In disk management it's done like this:
Right click the disk -> Offline
No, it should remember that you've offlined the disk. Though I haven't tried this before so don't take my word for it until you test it.

Forget to mention the SX8200 pro has components on both side of the pcb. So it is a little thicker than most of the single - sided M.2 drives. So you need to check if your laptop can accommodate a thicker drive.

I haven't run that exact (or similar) configuration but I would imagine Ubuntu would run just fine on just about any modern hardware. If compatibility is your issue, go with the later releases. They have updated kernel and drivers that may solve your issue.

mrchow19910319 reacted to Trinopoty in Ubuntu 18.04 VS 16.04 for thinkpad E495
Both are LTS and I've used both in production servers. If it's stable enough for a production server, it should be stable enough for you.
LTS releases are generally good bet but I always wait for a x.04.1 release of an LTS before installing it.

Both should be fine as they are still supported. Just go with 18.04 unless you have reasons to use 16.04.

Adata XPG SX8200 pro. Almost as fast as 970 Evo plus but much cheaper. I have a 1Tb version dual boot Windows and Ubuntu in my laptop.

If you need 2.5" SSD, then Crucial MX500 will be a good choice.

mrchow19910319 reacted to Sauron in Secondary SSD for duo booting Linux.
It doesn't really matter, any SSD will work with Linux and most are more reliable than the average HDD. Linux isn't as affected in its performance by drive speed, even a comparatively slow SSD will give you a great user experience.

@mrchow19910319 I just saw a French video comparing the Redmi Note 8T and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Basically, the camera and performance on the 8 Pro crushes the 8T.
And the reviewer concludes: “You better skip the 8T and spend the extra 50€ for the Pro, you’ll get a much better experience”
