Not sure where the issue is? A mid tier 6core with a mid to low end gpu seems fine.

Ryzen 1700 + RX 580 (4GB), I think that is similar enough. It just depends on what you use your machine for; me personally I don't really need a higher end GPU

true. not an avid gamer as I used to be. and my previous experience told me that a locked i7 last a lot longer than an i5.

later down the road only need to swap out the GPU. and keep the mobo+CPU combo.

It:s mainly a CSGO machine and a lot of browsing LTT/YouTube etc. Maybe some networking shit. 

Recently I've been using some Handbrake but that's it. I really wanna learn blender tho so I might get a 16 core Threadripper sometime. The GTX1050Ti also needs a replacement as it can't really hold up at UWQHD. 

My HTPC has a 1700X tho so together with the gtx1080 it's my fastest PC.
