Just a heads up. This is probobly already known to the Steam veterans here but comining in the next week or two, Steam is going to roll out thier annual mega sale. Usually most games in the Steam catalog get discounted unless they are just released.

If it was the RAM it would at least try to start. You could try and start it without RAM. That way it should at least give you some error code and beeps.

Best case: the power switch is broken. As dalekphalm said, you can try and short those pins.

Other than that, the BIOS could be f-ed hard … clear CMOS and try again. The GPU shouldn't be an issue since it should at least start doing something. Did you check all the connections?

You can only check your CPU on a known working board. There's no way of knowing what actually died (if something did die at all).

RAM speed isn't as important as CPU or GPU speed, but you will notice small performance boosts with higher RAM clock speeds.

As many places as possible. You want to be able to point as many people as possible to your website (which would be preferred if you don't want any other site taking a cut of your money).

You should look into the financials of the business though, if you are gonna buy stuff at retail prices and than add a markup.. that might not be a good profits.
Try to see if you can get a deal at a store so you can get stuff cheaper.

becuase teamviewer and other services need a server in the middle, with ssh you don't. If you setup a server in the middle you wouldn't have to port fortward it.

4k gaming... We talking AAA at 60fps? or Minecraft at 15fps.
You'll probably need at least 7600k and at least 1 1080.

I started with Linux Mint Cinnimon and installed windows 7 about 6 months down the road. It really depends on what you play. If I was still in my CS:GO phase, I could have stayed on Linux exclusivly and it would have been fine. I only felt the need to switch to open up the backlog in my Steam collection.

Sorry for the double post, Can you explain exactly what trouble you had? When I did Linux Mint, I just nabbed Steam from the repository, then when I logged in, Steam auto-updated and it was fine. I was up and running in about 5 minutes.

    Just curious.

Ahh yeah that makes sence. I went with a native Linux Steam install, then installed Wine along side it later on. So I had two compleat seperate versions of Steam when all was said and done.

Go with windows. Those particualar titles are not available on linux. But for the love of goodness, reasearch getting an OEM key. You can get windows MUCH cheaper than the retail price. I got Windows 7 for 20 bucks. works great for gaming.

I had zero issues getting Steam to run on linux. Its looking more like OP is going to run into compatability issues. The particular games he noted, Battlefield, GTA, do not run on Linux and are not supported by Wine. so for those, its Windows or nothing.

Not sure what you consider inexpensive but Sony Movie Studio is a very capable editor with lots of the same effects found on vegas pro for under 100 USD:

I have used Vegas, and absolutely love it, but even I couldn't afford it. Even if I could, I'm thinking of just moving to an Adobe Premiere Pro license. In Canada it's $20 CAD monthly and seems like a much safer bet than splurging all that cash at once into Vegas.
