  1. Greetings, just received my brand new benq Zowie xl2430 in the mail today. Could someone provide me with the best settings for general use and my main game of choice overwatch? Thanks in advance.
  2. So I have the Deepcool Gammaxx s40 currently installed. Great cooler but the one thing that bugs me is the blue fan that sticks out like a sore thumb in my black/grey pc build. I was wondering if I could replace the fan on the heatsink with a silent wings 3 fan but the fan frame design that is currently on the heatsink looks kinda funky so I don't know if the silent wings 3(or any 120mm) will fit. Any info appreciated. https://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16835856026
  3. i have windows installed on my ssd and that update completely messed it up, so im just not updating for a while
  4. So I posted about my pc having severe slow downs on the troubleshooting page and I ended up doing a clean windows install with a windows ISO. Pc goes back to being buttery smooth. I download the latest windows update and restarted my pc to install, and what do you know my pc goes back to being unbearably slow and things like task manager and file explorer go unresponsive. So I clean install from the ISO again and I'm not going to be updating windows for a while. I didn't check what version of windows it was but I'd say hold off on any windows updates for now. I am positive Microsoft have messed up this latest update.
  5. Yeah forgot to mention did a full system scan, it removed a couple of files that could've been viruses from utorrent, which i have never installed so i have no idea how they got there. Anyway no threats detected anymore but pc is still slow, gonna try crystaldiskinfo tomorrow.
  6. I'll start with the specs: CPU: i5 6500 MOBO: Gigabyte H170-HD3 RAM:16gb hyperx fury 2133mhz GPU: GTX 960 FTW 2gb PSU: seasonic 550w gold SSD: Sandisk ssd plus 240gb HDD: hitachi 1tb. So... my problems started last week when I was came back to my computer after having dinner and the monitor screen was black and read 'No operating system found, disconnect any drives without an os'(something like that anyway), so I turn off my pc and disconnect my hdd and leave my ssd plugged in, windows boots and everything is normal, turn off the system and connect my hdd back, everything fine still. A few days later I have a power cut which shuts down my pc and the day after the os isn't detected again, so i think that's weird, ill do what i did before and it should work again. It works again kinda... Now my PC is painfully slow and simple apps like chrome and settings are not responding, in task manager the disk usage is very high most of the time and I don't know why. Is my ssd corrupted/damaged? or has a windows update messed up performance? I should probably mention that all temps are fine at 25 degrees average. What program do you recommend for checking ssd health? Any help is appreciated.
  7. So I bought a brand spanking new 50" 4k Samsung HDR 6 series tv and I've adjusted all the video settings to how I like them, however there is a feature on the TV called HDR+ which I thought would make the improve the dynamic range of the TV, but I found that it just makes everything warm and not natural looking at all. Have I done something wrong or is the HDR+ feature just not very good?
  8. wow, thanks for this information man, very helpful, interesting too
  9. Yeah but why would it just go back to normal after a few minutes(and for the rest of the time that the pc is on)?
  10. Hello there, I'm having a very odd problem with my pc's front fan(default fan with corsair 400c case) a few days ago it started to make a very loud noise on startup, I'm positive that it is vibration noise because when i touch the fan case its vibrating pretty hard, but after approx 5mins of my pc being on, it stops... it goes back to the normal quiet state it should be at. It's not really an issue and it doesn't affect performance, just want to know why its doing this, loose screw or something different? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
  11. Is it possible to adjust the temperature at which the fans turn on? Just because I'm paranoid lol
  12. I just installed CPUID's hwmonitor which shows that the cpu is idle at around 20c,and cpu at 50 so I'm fine with that
  13. lol im so confused,it's probably fine, thats just what im gonna go with
  14. There's no way its running over 100 i only have steam and chrome open and i have very good airflow
  15. I got some weird notification that i didn't read when i installed speedfan, it was something about temperature monitoring but i didn't read it and closed it. Ambient temp is around 15-20(hard to tell one of my walls in my bedroom isn't insulated properly)
  16. Hello there, i don't know if this is normal but i have had my 960 ftw edition from evga for a while now, but for some reason the idle temps are unusually high(i think), is it normal for this card to idle at around 50 degrees celsius? as you can see i have very goof cooling for my cpu which sitting at around 5 degrees. I am using the 400c case from corsair which has very good airflow,so I don't know why the temp is so high.
  17. Just wondering if a slight rubbing of the cpu and mobo cpu slot, would have damaged either of them?
  18. It's intel, so no pins on cpu, just contacts
  19. I was building my new pc today but as I was installing the cpu I put it in slightly incorrectly(a little to far to the right of the socket) but I tried to jiggle it into place buy it I think I rubbed the two off of each other, not a huge amount or anything just wondering if I could've have damaged either part? The cpu is installed with the cooler and everything, will be test booting tomorrow so I guess I'll see then...
