  1. Asrock H81M-VG4/Asus H81M-CS.Is it Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX? Both Asus and Asrock's offical product page says that these mobos are micro-atx. But their size (Asrocks: 7.5-in x 6.7-in, 19.1 cm x 17.0 cm, ASUS: 7.5 inch x 7.0 inch 19 cm x 17.7 cm) says otherwise. I was planning to buy a cabinate that can fir AsRock H81-VG4 board, and prefer it to be as small as possible. Should i go with Mini-ITX case or go with Micro-ATX case as per the info on official page?
  2. Is "Palm Reject" a hardware or software feature. If its a hardware feature, does it depent on the active stylus that one uses to write on a tablet or the tablet itself or both ? Suppose I have a basic tablet abd I buy a nice active stylus that has palm rejection. Do the tablet/application in tablet/both need to have palm rejection as well for me to writes notes easliy?
  3. Just went through the steps to copy the backup from USB to NAS. The backup job has started but there is no time shown on that page. Ideally I should get at least > 50 MBps transfer speed when i copy data from my USB 3.0 external HDD connected to the My Cloud Ultra EX2 NAS, but I am only getting 2-4 MBps. I don’t understand this. I don’t have to go through this whole USB to NAS backup process if I get good transfer speed. Please tell me the problem here. Where is the bottleneck?? Since files are to to be directly transferred to NAS via USB3.0 port from an external USB3.0 HDD, I should get way more then 50+ MBps transfer speed. Its not like I am transferring files over network. 2-4 MBps speed is only justified when I transfer files over network as my modem+router has only 10/100 Ethernet port. So the maximum transfer speed from 100 Mbps lan post comes out to be 12MBps
  4. Just to be sure that I am on the same page as you are MB/s=MBytes/s and Mb/s=Mbits/s Transfer speed was MB/s not Mb/s......... My modem Dlink DSL-224 has only 10/100BASE-TX LAN ports, so the transfer speed from lan port is limited to 6MB/s Dlink DSL-224 Product page link: http://www.dlink.ru/mn/products/3/2178_b.html Does that mean i will always be limited to 6MB/s max speed? Whats the alternate for transfering ~800GB of data from my pc wirelessly to WD My Cloud Ultra EX2 which is connected to VDSL modem via ethernet cable
  5. I bought Quantum Zero USB3 to sata adapter(which work as a hot swap dock basically) and connected the 2TB WD red NAS Driver to my PC. "Formatt the external HDD" window popped up, as soon as it autoplayed.....If I copy the 800 GB data into this nas hdd after formatting it, the I will be again asked to format it, when I will install the nas hdd into WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra. That way data will be deleted again from the NAS drive,
  6. Now I have connected my external HDD to USB3 port on my PC and then copied the whole content of external hdd and pasted it in the “Main Share”. Again the speed becomes stable at 6 MB/s and estimated time is more then 1 day
  7. I want to copy data (~800MB) from my WD Slim external HDD to a share which I have made in a 2tb WD red hdd installed in My Cloud EX2 Ultra. My Cloude EX2 Ultra is connected to my VDSL modem+Wifi Router via ethernet cable provided in the box, My PC is connected VDSL modem+router via wireless connection 1st Try.) I connected my WD slim external HDD to USB3 port on my PC and then copied the whole content of external hdd and pasted it in the “Main Share”(the share which I created during setup of My Cloud EX2 ultra). I was getting a transfer speed of 6 MB/s. and the transfer time was coming out to be more then a day. 2nd Try.) I connected the WD Slim External HDD directly into in of the 2 USB 3 ports present on the My Cloud EX2 Ultra. This time the transfer speed initially was >1MB/s, which after some time stablised to ~4MB/s. The estimated transfer time this time came out to be more the 1 day again. What am I doing wrong. Where is the bottleneck in my setup. Why am I getting so much high transfer time and low transfer speeds. Please help!!!
  8. I have WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra in which I was using a Seagate Barracuda 7200 1TB. Because WD NAS drive was not connected to power back, WD ui showed that the hdd has failed to start. I took out the hdd and connected it with a hot swap adapter, which I got out from a 2.5inch laptop hdd enclosure. When i connected the hot swap adapter to hdd and connected it to my pc, i didn't see any hdd connected. Is it because maybe the hdd has crashed and needs data recovery or is something wrong with the hot swap adapter. Also I wanna know if 2.5 inch hdd and 3.5inch hdd can use same hot swap adapter? do i need some other adapter to connect 3.5 inch hdd because it is bigger and may need an additional power source???
  9. Deepcool Kendomen Case AMD FX-6300 Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB*2 DDR3(Installed on A2 and B2 Slots respectively)) CM Hyper 212X MSI R9 270X GPS Corsair VS 550 PSU Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD Toshiba 500GB 7200ROM HDD I checked the above mentioned setup on a test bench and the bios loaded successfully, i could go through all the bios options. But when I installed the whole setup in my cabinate and pressed the power button, the fans (both cpu cooler and chasis) started succesfully, however there was no light in the usb optical mouse, usb keyboard was not powered as well, and the display was black i cleared the cmos by swithing the jumper across the pins on the motherboard, but still i am facing the same problem. by doing all the trobleshooting at my level, I have concluded that maybe motherboard is short somewhere. But I dont know where. I there possibility of any other mistake that I might have made. Please help!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks in advance

  12. For that mobo has to have usb boot feature, I guess. I have Asus H81M-CS which dont have usb boot option. I have checked it in BIOS. So what options do I have with my existing hardware? Intel G3240 Asus H81M-CS Corsair Value Select 4GB*2 500GB HDD(for trial in the begining)
  13. Bro ssd's are still quite expensive here in India. Because no comany manufactures ssd's here. I just wanted to know this as i want to use it to install FreeNas in my new NAS build. Instead of getting a 250gb hdd just to install FreeNAS is not a good idea, as freenass isn't going to take more then 4-5 gb space.
  14. Can a usb pendrive be used as internal hdd by connecting it to mobo sata port via some converter. If yes what are the limitations??
  15. SIL-VEven though Hynix HMT31GR7BFR4A is a registered ecc ram, it is not working with Supermicro X8SIL-V. Unsupported Memory Installed Indicator led on X8SIL mobo lits up when mobo is powere up, and nothing happens after that. Do I have some other options for registered ecc memory for this board. Availability in India isn't going to be easy. So please suggest something which I can procure here in India. Supermicro XSIL-V Intel Xeon34** Hynix 8GB Registered ECC
