  1. Im unfamiliar with this "maconfig" could you please explain what it is and how to use it?
  2. Update, finally got the whole cmd process done, it looped thorugh everyfile like it should have. turns out the names were just different for some of the files, i figured it out tho. Seems all the drivers were successfully installed but the wifi on this thjing still doesn't work, and im not exactly sure how to check if all the drivers were properly installed.... Might be a dead wifi chip, not ruling that out yet.
  3. Alright i got to the part where you need to go to a certain directory in cmd. No matter waht i type in at the end, x64 or x86 it says the path specified cannot be found. Now navigate to C:\Drivers\cab\extracted\folders\(x86 or x64 depending on if the system is 32-bit or 64-bit) (Meant to quote your post so you would see it earlier)

  5. Ive restarted it, i renamed the file but now the command prompt says "Unrecognized Switch -F."
  6. Update, ethernet works, so i got internet but none of the other drivers have been installed, they all say error messages.
  7. It wont let me rename the file, it says that it is open in windows explorer so it can't be changed rightnow.
  8. I got the internet to work on it, but the tool doesn't work. It says some error message everytime it works, and says that it didn't launch properly
  9. Tried this, i didnt already have a file in the C: drive name drivers sos i just made my own. got to the step where you type Expand –F:* source.cab C:\Drivers\cab into cmd and it says that it cant open the input file. What should i do? Did i do something wrong?
  10. Yeah, windows update doesn't work when theres no internet connection on the laptop. Theres no internet connection because there are no drivers installed on it. So how would it download those drivers?
  11. Somebody please just help, i've tried to get this thing to work all day.
  12. So on the dell website they also have this auto detect tool that tells you which drivers you are missing and will automatically tell you which drivers you need to download. To use this tool i would have to login to the dell website from the pc i want to install the drivers on, Problem is there is no internet connection on the pc, because there are no drivers, ive tried installing only the network drivers and it doesnt seem to work.
  13. So the story is i got this dell e6420 laptop, it came wiped with no os but a samsung ssd in it. I installed windows 7 onto it. Since there are no drivers on it, the wifi and ethernet wont work. I also do not have the original drivers disc that it came with. Problem is i've tried downloading and installing the drivers manually but it doesn't change anything, ive installed the right drivers according to the dell website but they don' work. Is there any possible way i could find somewhere a package of all the drivers for this thing? Instead of installing each and every single driver manually? Its a slow pain in the ass porcess to find every single right driver and install them one by one in the right order and so far it hasn't even worked.
