  1. So i am running a dual monitor display. My main monitor is a 4K IPS LG monitor, and the second monitor is a 1080P BenQ TN monitor. They work fine, but everytime i try to run a game on the main monitor with the monitor set to its native resolution on windows, My main desktop moves from the main monitor to the second one. All of the Desktop icons, Cortana search bar, and apps running on the main monitor, bar the game, move to the second monitor. Doesn't matter if the monitor is set to 4K or 1440p. It works fine with both running in 1080p, but i would like to run the main monitor at 4k so that i can watch 4K content on Youtube and other services. I'll leave two images to help get a better understanding of what my issue is. If anyone knows about what's causing this issue or have had this issue before, please let me know.
  2. I plan to play games like Overwatch, Farcry 5, rainbow six siege, fortnite and PUBG with the highest settings possible
  3. Currently, I have a i5 4690 paired with a GTX 970. I want to get a 144hz monitor and a GTX 1080, but I don't know what CPU to upgrade to. Like, should I get a i5 8600k, 8400 or an i7 8700k. I'm not sure and I don't want to bottle neck a 1080. If anyone can point me in the right direction, please let me know. [PC Specs] CPU: i5 4690 GPU: MSI GTX 970 4GB RAM: 16GB hyperx @1600Mhz MOBO: MSI H97 Gaming 3 HDD: WD Blue 1TB (replacing with a berracuda 2TB today) SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 256GB PSU: Corsair CX 500W
  4. So i currently have an i5-4690 paired with a GTX 970 from MSI, and i am planning on getting a GTX 1080 from MSI. I want to make this upgrade so i can play games at 144hz 1080p, and even play games at 60hz 1440p, so i plan to get a 144hz 1440p Gsync monitor aswell. But I'm not sure if my CPU will bottleneck a 1080, because it's a bit of an old CPU. I have a friend who has a I5-6400 and a GTX 1080. He says, his GTX 1080 runs just fine, and I know that his CPU isn't far from mine. So I'm not entirely sure if my CPU will bottleneck it or not. The games I want to play are games like Overwatch, Witcher 3, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG, Destiny 2 and FarCry 5. Currently these games run fine on my 970, and don't show any signs of bottlenecking. Here are my full specs: CPU: i5-4690 Motherboard: H97 MSI Gaming 3 RAM: Hyperx 16GB 1866Mz GPU: MSI GTX 970 4GB HDD: WD Blue 1TB SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 256GB Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC 03 PSU: Corsair CX 500 (I have a spare 700w PSU if needed)

Sudden Screen tearing in all games

Has is been a recent problem for you?
  6. At around September last year I began to get huge amounts of screen tearing in games which has been making my gaming experience very un-smooth and more jittery, I am aware that Vsync is a thing but I have never needed it before and never got screen tearing this bad. In my PC I have an MSI GTX 970 (Overclocked: Core clock +170 and a memory clock +345) and a I5-4690 along with a MSI H97 Gaming 3 Motherboard with HyperX 16GBs of DDR3 ram at 1600Mhz, Samsung 850 Evo 256GB SSD, a WD blue 1TB HDD and a 500W PSU by corsair. Some people have said that turning full screen optimization will fix it but I have checked and this does not seem to be the case, I have the latest drivers, I'm running on the latest version of Windows 10, turned game mode off. I have even done a clean install of windows and re downloaded all of my games with no luck. I tried different monitors to see if it was a monitor fault but the screen tearing was still present and there were no improvements. I have taken 2 video recordings on my phone so you know exactly what i am talking about, 1 with the frame rate capped at 60fps and one uncapped. Uncapped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZRw_6inKd0 Capped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdNDGzTS11o If anyone knows what I can do to try and solve this, that would be nice, but please keep in mind that I stated in this post that I have never needed to use Vsync before as I did not used to get screen tearing this bad. So saying Turn on Vsync, Isn't an ideal solution. Thanks

Can't update BIOS, QFlash utility out of date

Will this work for his motherboard?
  9. My friend has been having issues with his new graphics card where his pc gets stuck on the bios boot screen and he can't do anything. We've been told to get a newer bios update and that would fix it. So i put the most recent Bios in a USB and when i go to QFlash and try to update the bios it says that the QFlash utility is out of date. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV Rev 2.0 Does anyone know what to do? As i said it won't go past the Gigabyte Boot screen so i can't check the task manager or control panel
  12. My friend just got himself a new GPU from Nvidia and i've installed it for him with a new PSU. Now his motherboard is a bit old. It's the Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV and when the new GPU is in his PC it will not go past the Gigabyte boot screen but it will with his old GPU the Radeon 7750. His Old graphics card drivers have been uninstalled to make sure it's not them causing this but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone know how to fix this?
