I would suggest separating the RM class. The 1000 watt is pretty bad for what it is. Iirc its gets about 100mv of ripple of the 12V rail.

The Fuma one of the best HSF's on the market at a unbeatable price and if you tighten it right it will even out perform the D15 by a fair amount.

It makes no sense. What is your budget? Let's go over the flaws.

CPU with unlocked muktipler (6700*k*) with B150 board (B150 chipset doesn't allow for overclocking)
6700k with a 1070 when an i5 with a 1080 would perform better in pretty much every game in existence.
120GB SSD that costs more than an OCZ Trion 150 which is about as good.
    An optical drive
Windows 7 when it's not receiving security updates

It is completely normal, nothing is wrong. it just divides the RAM speed by 2 and reports it as that.

The EVGA NEX-G is overpriced and not very good, not a good option. It is also in a very different budget to low end PSUs.

vagabond139 reacted to WoodenMarker in Good budget cooler for O.C. i7-6700k
The T4 is easily worse than the 212 Evo and not a good cooler for oc'ing the 6700k.
The 212x is an update to the 212 Evo. The dual fan and led versions are literally just adding another fan or using a version of the same fan with leds. The 612 is a bigger brother to the 212.

The 212 Evo performs well but more options have been available since its initial release.
    Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

vagabond139 got a reaction from -rascal- in fx4300 overclocking
Your motherboard is crap for overclocking, turn down the overclock or risk literally killing/frying/igniting your motherboard really fast since it doesn't have a VRM heatsink and a low amount of power phases which is a horrible combo for the AM3+ socket and heavy overclocking. I'm not joking around or being over the top.

vagabond139 reacted to JoshM813 in 4K Graphics and Gaming
Well first, if you want to get 4k gaming at over 120fps then you're going to have to spend $2400 just in graphics cards. Then you will have to also wait for a 120Hz or 144Hz monitor to come out, as the TVs that are listed as having 120Hz are really just running 60Hz but refreshing the same frame twice so it's not really 120Hz. You could just buy one Titan XP and run the graphics on lower settings, but I personally would never sacrifice graphics quality for a higher resolution.

I would spend a bit extra and go for a 450 watt Corsair CXM which blows anything in the competing price range out of the water.

The BQ has ZERO reviews and its from HEC who really has zero great units would have to be god tier  to be all around better than the CXM so it would likely be a downgrade.

For a 970 a Corsair CX550M or EVGA 650GQ should work fine. Both are inexpensive and will have plenty of power for ya.

I'd recommend the CX550M over that. While the green CXMs aren't bad at all, the grey CXMs are newer, quite a bit better in quality, and are still an excellent value, and 550 W is more than enough power.

The Corsair CX550M offer better voltage stability and full support for C6/C7 sleep state due it utilizing DC-DC for the minor rails. While the Seasonic does offer a 2BB fan and better cap selection.

I personally would go with the CX550M for DC-DC than going for the old, 5+ years group-regulated design. Either way, both the Seasonic and Corsair would be more than plenty for such a system. The OP can go for the CX450M or Seasonic S12II-B 430w unit as well, if he wish to save money.

Its not terrible like rumors make it out to be, its a mediocre unit. its not a bomb, crap, etc. If you don't already have it I wouldn't buy it. I would get the new CXM series which consists of the 450/550/650 watt units and are actually fairly good and imo even better than a Seasonic S12II ir a M12II.

vagabond139 got a reaction from STRMfrmXMN in What's wrong with the evga 650w psi
If you are referring to the NexG1 its because its group regulated which means it can't output just about all of its power on the 12V rail which isn't good since if you buy a 650 watt PSU you are likely running two GPU's which use power from the 12V rail. On top of it has not so good voltage regulation and average performance.

The only reason why Evga is really selling it anymore is because of their brand name and the high end PSU's associated with it, it being gold which everyone thinks is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and it being only 1 letter off from the famous G2 seires.

Also most people are in countries that have a broad range of PSU's to pick from which is why most people say to avoid it since you usually can get better for its price range.  It sounds like it would be the best choice for you in your country unless you mind linking to a merchant there.

The G 550 is an excellent option.

vagabond139 got a reaction from PlayStation 2 in Will this PSU power any GPU worth buying? (e.g. rx460)
Crap PSU's can fry your parts via ripple either instantly or over time depending on bad it is which will decrease the lifespan of your build, it could be unstable could cause BSOD, it could be lacking in protections, it might not actually be able to do the wattage it claims, etc. Trying to save about $50 could end up costing you hundreds if fries parts or decides to take everything to the grave with it when it goes out.

The M12 is a loud PSU by design. I don't know why people don't look into these things before they buy them. Nonetheless, rather than soldering a new fan into your PSU I'd just get a fanless PSU or a PSU with a passive system like a Corsair RMi or EVGA GS.

I have one. Its fairly good. I've gotten a A8 6600K to 5Ghz at 1.55V although I did switch out fans for much more powerful ones. Its a fairly good cooler overall and imo looks great but if you are in the US I would go for the Scythe Fuma instead since its arguably is the best HSF out there.
