  1. @KhakiHat That was exactly my thought. Although I think I could get everything refurbished or used. I feel like I should try to get the mobo new in case it fails and takes some other component down with it... I'll probably just try to keep my current PSU too I think it should last me even after a gpu upgrade
  2. @wafflehaus I loved that case (and corsair cases in general <3) but I'm looking a little less on looks and more in getting the job done I was thinking more something like the Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L mATX Tower
  3. In my rig I got: 6700 (non k) Coolermaster 212 500 W evga power supply 2 ssd's G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) ASUS Z170-E LGA 1151 Case DIYPC Silence-BK-Window Black ASUS GeForce GTX 960 Overclocked 4GB DDR5 DisplayPort HDMI 2.0 DVI-I Graphic Card TURBO-GTX960-OC-4GD5 I got $150 max but would like to spend less to get it as small as reasonable. in the future I would like to put a better GPU in. I use it for 1080p casual gaming. I'm thinking about buying a micro atx mobo and a smaller case (in which case I'll probably also need a smaller cooler). any ideas?
  4. after watching the video on the LG GRAM I got one but a couple of seconds after the first boot it started doing some clicking or ticking noises. because the laptop has no moving parts besides the fan (that I know of) I figured it might be the fan but IDK. Linus did not mention that. the noise is a little subtle and it comes every 5 seconds and it lasts for like 3 seconds.
  5. thanks for replying, you know that it is a laptop that I am talking about right? I would not worry that much if it was a desktop psu but I dont think laptop psu have that many protections
  6. can the community help me in here or is it better to try a more specialized forum?
  7. long story short: I bought the MSI GS63VR and i am tired of carrying around the big an heavy power supply so I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PU0EENE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I know that I need the 9.23 amp psu tu use the GPU and the CPU to its full potential and that I will not get full performance with the new psu but all I want is for my laptop not to ran out of charge while I am web browsing at starbucks. I read that if my laptop tries to draw more current (amps) tan the psu is rated for, the voltage of the psu can drop and damage the laptop. is this true? will it be safe to use the new psu if I am only using googlechrome, spotify, microsoft word, etc?
  8. yeah, after the information that Sportiva gave me I have no doubt that thats what I am going to do. Thank Guys!
  9. Just Gaming and very occasionally rendering. how can I know if it PCIe based? can you guys recomend me one?
  10. Is there a way to know how big will the difference be in this case? I do not really trust youtube reviews because I do not know if they are actually talking truth or they just did a not appropriated test that will not actually show real world difference that will affect my experience.
  11. Story of my life: I have 2 Machines and only 1 SSD. I got a laptop and a Desktop. My laptop only has a 2.5" SATA slot and my desktop has a M.2 slot. should I get a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB M.2 SSD (MZ-N5E250BW) for my desktop and put the sata SSD on my laptop or simply get another Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250B/AM)? the only reason why I am interested on the M.2 is Speed. is it really faster than sata? (in this particular case) if the speed of those 2 drives is the same (or the difference is not really big) I will go with the sata with out a doubt (I dont really care about the less cables or the space saved) BTW pardon my English and my lack of experience/knowledge but thats why I am here. any additional info you want to give me guys is welcome and appreciated. (I know that I have to check the key if I am getting a M.2, my mobo is Asus X99 usb 3.1)
