Sorry lol, meant desktop. There is a reason laptops with GPUs exist... just because desktop will get you more bang for your buck doesn't mean someone doesn't want to be portable.

I can't bring a desktop to class... pretty obvious. edit - Meant desktop, obviously...

Its not for gaming but I need a laptop with a decent DX 11 card with 2 gb VRam for game development.

Can someone explain why windows 8 is so bad? I haven't used the start screen in years... There are so many things that are better. I do not understand... Btw, If you do not know how to back-up your data and install a new operating system you probably should not do it on a whim...

Emulators really do not like non-stock clock speeds. Not sure why. Dolphin acts very weird when I turn up the clocks on my 660ti.

I am kind of glad that both of my machines had errors when trying to upgrade. I will stay with windows 8 until I hear they have fixed all the ridiculous issues people have been having. A co-worker of mine bricked his surface pro Hes not happy.

Do you own either of these? If you do not I don't suggest going out to buy 1 or both. Definitely look at 700 series or R9 cards.

I doubt it as it only has wifi connectivity. This is not a game with region locking or a cellphone with a radio that only connects to certain frequencies. Consoles can be region locked, however; I do not think this is the case.

If you use an EVGA card then EVGA's Prevision X uses Riva Tuner Stats which can be configured to display whatever information ,including FPS, on-screen. I display FPS / GPU Usage % and GPU Temp. Otherwise FRAPS.
