  1. Check out Xperia Z3+. It's simply a better Z3 but with no price difference. Actually right now it's priced uner 320 $ on Amazon.
  2. I think what Linus really needs is to check out the Sony Z3+. I don't know what you guys know abot the phone. But it was in a real weird place, because they made alot of marketing mistakes. And because of that you can get this phone for 300$ and at that price there is no better phone out there. It jas everything linus wants.
  3. Rig name: DunedanPC Cpu: AMD FX - 8350 8core clocked to around 4.3Hz Gpu: AMD R9 390 8GB 2x4GB DDR3 Kingston
  4. I'm confused by these three channels : NCIX Tech Tips , Techquickie and LinusTechTips. The latter two are almost the same , having the same videos and generally the exact same content. But NCIX is kinda different. Please could someone explain to me these channels.
  5. If anyone will ever see this since it's a year after last quote. Would a single 970 be enough for 2560x1080 and on what settings will it achieve 60fps average.?
  6. So I'm not the best one to inform you because I'm still researching this. I'm actually in a situation opposite off yours. I have a LG 29UM67-P and my previous monitor was 4:3 wich is 1600x1200. Compared to the 21:9 2560x1080 that's a lot more pixels. It's not very legitimate saying "a lot" but 1920x1080 to 2560x1080 is33% more. So that means even more. I have a GTX 760 2GB. 2GB is important because after all my research vram is the greatest issue with wide-screen gaming. My GPU handled everything pretty well. But after my monitor upgrade performance dropped dramatically. I think yours has 4gb vram. I can't tell you for sure that it will be 100% enough. But you would be fine on like almost all games on the settings you are currently used. Upgrading to 21:9 will cause an fps drop. You should research how much for your GPU. But benchmark I've seen show that most games don't go near 3.5 on ultra. I might sound uncertain to you. That's because you will have to calculate (idk even how) the difference between you currently monitor and the one you will get. Because these benchmarks are run on 16:9. So 33% more is a lot. You will be fine with whatever monitor you choose but I suspect if you get the huge 34" ones you would have to lower a bit graphics. I recommend LG ultrawide btw.
  7. Could you explain how the Acer is more for gaming and LG for productivity.
  8. I'm using the same monitor and I'm having GPU issues that I didn't experience before. I've read that it's caused by the extra horizontal pixels and it's 33% more than a 1920x1080. Since before I was using 1600x1200 the difference is even greater. I would like to know your build and on what settings you play your games. Sorry if I'm popping out of nowhere but I don't see that often people with similar monitor. I should really upgrade my 760 2GB. The main issue is vram, tho I'm looking for an upgrade overall.
  9. So this is my first(second) legit post here and since I didn't find the "Say Hi" topic I'll do it here. So hi all. About my name... I decided to use it after realizing that my old username was lame, contained a number (which I despise) and didn't mean anything to people who don't speak Bulgarian. And I'll tell you only that it's from a certain epic fantasy. I'm saying only that as a hint. So any true fans out there that think they have guessed it can leave their guess as a reply. (it's not exactly the way it's supposed to be written. But only one letter is changed so you should guess it anyway)
  10. 5-15 fps drop sounds scary and since my card is older gen it could be worse. I could be forced to play my games on 16:9 if it's too bad.
  11. So I'm considering buying this LG screen. Planning to use it for gaming and the occasional movies. Problem is I'm concerned if my graphics card can handle it. I've read that because of the wider ratio there is more are that is processed. I'm currently using 4:3 monitor but recent games don't support it at all. My GPU is kinda last gen and not high edge but my biggest concern is that I only have 2gb vram. I've considered second card or a new one. But that would have to wait. So I would really appreciate some advice if I would have issue originatinging out of the graphics card.
