Chair: Secret Lab Titan Omega (Softweave)
    Display: Asus ROG PG279

    Possible solutions:
I wiped the seat and lower back portion of the chair with dryer sheets. This actually solved the issue temporarily. Anti static farbric spray could also be a decent short term solution but I did not try it.

What ended up fixing the issue for me was simply changing out the display port cable. I was using the one that came with the Asus display. I switched to the extra one that came with a Dell monitor from work. The problem cable is marked Amphenol E326508, the cable without issue is marked Hotron E246588.

This worked like a charm even with large static shocks. Not advisable but heck, I rolled up right next to my tower. Built up a crap ton of static with my butt. Stood up and even got a painful shock on my finger as my hand left the arm rest. No flickers. Even shocked my monitor with my finger at one point. Switching back to the original display port cable brought back the issue so I think this is fixed for now.

I will report back if I have any updates. Good luck everyone and Happy Holidays.

I'd start my own country. Possibly on a tropical Island, limit our population to a couple million habitats at the most and use the money to kick it off as a Communist Utopia.

Hmm... That amount of money could help me to establish dictatorship in small country like mine (Serbia). Than I would set about to build new ideology, something like IT socialist communist technocraty state, where scientists would be the new elite (instead of sportists, politicians and artists) and ecology would be number one priority. Then I would influence neighboring states like Hungary and Romania, and form a small alliance that would counterbalance EU and USA and their capitalist system. Main focus of my rule would be advancement of battery technology and treatment of leathal deasises like cancer. Industry would be a service to the people, not way to make money. It would focus on quality rather than profit. Ultimate goal would be achieving maximum happiness of population, with least amount of worrying and uncertainty during their life, with nearly free travel, accommodation, communication, water and food.

Buy out Ubisoft and EA  then sell them to Valve for $1 each so they own all of the games and make them better (ea isnt to bad, but ubisoft sucks balls)

I would buy Apple, and EA then close them down.

I've got the original shield and love it, and I'm just not that interested in the tablet version. I already have two tablets that I'm not really using much (Nexus 7 2013 and Ipad Mini Retina), so this seems like a waste. Only thing that would even remotely make sense, is to replace the Nexus 7, but the shield tablet is $300. Meh.

What would've actually got me to buy one, would have been if Nvidia designed a docking station for the TV. Honestly, I'm not sure why it doesn't exist. They play up the ability to hook it up to the TV, yet if you want to (with 1080p streaming), you have to hook up a mini hdmi, a usb otg cable with a usb ethernet adapter, and if you don't want to run out of juice, a usb y cable that splits into an otg and usb plug so that you can charge the device. The only compelling reason for to buy a shield tablet is if I had an easy way to hook it up the TV, and then take it off whenever I wanted to use it as a plain tablet. Ideally, any docking station should have full size hdmi, an extra audio out (optical preferred), gigabit ethernet port, power jack and a 2-4 port usb hub (for hooking up mouse/keyboard and extra game controllers).

Nyko developed a dock for the Shield portable, and I had one, but it was pretty poor. You had to plug in a dongle that fit into the microusb and hdmi, but at the same time it blocked both the microsd (not a huge deal) and headphone jack (big deal). And on top of that, the dock was incapable with using both power for usb and usb otg at the same time (even after nvidia updated the shield to do this).

And microsd is a bit disappointing. Even though I splurged for a 128gb microsd, I would have preferred to see full size sd, as 128gb SD are half the price of microsd. Minor complaint, and it's possible they simply didn't have the space for it.

Guys, let's just forget that this is made for gaming, and see it as an Android Tablet only. If you see it that way, it is the BEST bang for the buck you can get. For just $300 ,You will get:

    - The fastest Chipset available right now for Android Tablets (even beats Apple's iPad in GPU benchmarks for HALF the price) and 2 GB of RAM
    - DirectStylus 2 that is fast and responsive
    - Full HD 8" IPS screen that is awesome
    - Dual Front facing speaker
    - Near-Stock Android with timely updates like a Nexus device (they proved it with nvidia shield and tegra note 7)
    - 5 MP front and back camera
    - Micro SD Card Slot that supports up to 128 GB.

    Competition :
    - Samsung tablets does have active stylus (which doesn't differ much from shield's stylus) but costs way more and it's slower
    - Nexus 7 is cheaper but way slower without SD card slot and stylus
    - Kindle Fire HDX is also cheaper but it's amazon exclusive and there aren't any SD card slot nor stylus too.

At least for me, the Nvidia Tegra Shield Tablet is a steal. I would buy this as soon as this becomes available in my region.

What an utter, utter tablet !!! However, I would marry this tablet with Samsung galaxy tab S 8.4 and buy it's children ! Here is why :

What I really like about this tablet is (in order) :

    - Most of all front facing speakers. It is absolutely unclear to me why this isn't a standard ??? I'm looking for a replacement for my Nexus 7 2012 , and I'm not even considering anything that does not have stereo front facing speakers (atm only Lenovo Yoga and Shield have it). And supposedly great sound quality is a huge plus in my book

    - Stylus. VERY important feature for me. If not for anything else, than for lack of fingerprints while using the tablet. I have an aftermarket one for my nexus 7, but it does not have a slot for it so I keep it in a bag and use it much more rarely because of that... otherwise it is a great tool

    - 5 MPix front camera . Boy am I glad to see this. My girlfriend is studying abroad and I don't have my own room, and skyping is inconvenient for me. I tried to talk to her from somewhere else with nexus but crappy video and audio ruins the experience . I hope this tablet have a good mic to match this excellent camera . If someone buys it and confirms that would be great.

    - 1920 x 1200 Display. Full HD is all we need really. It is better to have good display with good color reproduction and visibility in daylight than to go overboard and crank the resolution way up for marketing reasons and sacrifice other display characteristics. At no point while using my nexus 7 720p wass too small of a resolution for me.

    - That TEGRA ... I hope finally for an smoooooth Android experience . Like win7 with quad core and SSD, without any hiccups

    - HDMI - AWESOME!! This means that I will be able to stretch HDMI cable from my TV to the bed table, plug it in, and enjoy browsing YouTube videos from my bed. Any other experience is bad for me - I have connected PC to TV via HDMI, but it means that i have to constantly switch displays in my drivers, and get up from bed to play each new video ; WiDi from my laptop while good in theory lags a lot, and it is not working as advertised; and YouTube app on my smart TV is just horrible . I could buy some Android TV set-top box, but it is yet another device, but as I already need a tablet, this extra functionality is awesome. Would like to see dock for the table though, and mini HDMI and microUSB connectors more apart, so I can use both at the same time

What I would take from the mother (Galaxy tab S) :

    - 8.4 screen - It is just in the middle between 7 and 10 inches, and maximum size for decent portability.

3 GB of RAM. RAM is not that expensive and more of it for future proofing wouldn't hurt

    - Latches for the cover on the back of the tab. Since I managed to scratch my nexus 7 screen pretty early on, covers are really important to me. Tab S has by far the best system for the cover mounting of ANY handheld device. Once you put it on, you will never remove it by accident, nor will the tablet  drop from it. I broke screen of my nexus 7 because it slipped out of the bad cover i have for it. On the Shield, cover seems to be just an afterthought. I would like finally to see one tablet where screen cover is integral part of the device itself, or at least some dedicated hinges of tablet for it

    - Amoled screen. According to the reviews Tab's display is fenomenal, with accurate colour and virtually no oversaturation, which combined with lower battery consumption and better Daylight visibility makes it a better choice

    - 8MP back camera with flash. OK, no one is using tablets as a primary tool for taking pictures, but having a more than capable camera at least for scanning QR codes  and programs such as satfinder would be great for me!

    - Hardware buttons. That way we could have a true 16:9 1080p screen for maximum enjoyment when consuming media content

If someone would make a Frankenstein tablet like this I would be more than happy

Just a thing, it's not often useful to put down prices for things, because often only in the US can you get hardware at such prices. In other countries where import tax costs a fortune, your prices mean nothing to them. I couldn't get a 7970 under even $350 if I tried, and I'm in Australia. People continue posting "get this for under $300" and it's only on NCIX or Newegg or other North American sites. These prices are inaccesible for quite a large portion of the forum community.
    Just a thought.
