  1. Well I'll be damned! I also replaced the cable that came with the monitor with Cable Matters DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable, and I'm also happy to report that issue disappeared! Thank you for this post Drktwr
  2. Wow, people actually do this? Sad... Seems like a lot of work for a prank. Any way to just easily edit hardware ID, so it shows different name?
  3. Well, I tried playing with custom curves a lot, but still there are erratic jumps in fan speeds. Between NZXT Cue software, Asus Ai suite software, and BIOS, who knows what is actually controlling these fans when they are plugged into the board...
  4. Hahah, no guys, no bad intention here. Just a prank . Is it easy(ish). Is there any risk involved?
  5. Hello, Quick question: Is there a way to alter GPU BIOS so it reports a different name to the hardware checking apps (Like GPU-z)? For example 1080 to be reported as 2080? Thanks!
  6. AWsome, thanks for your recommendation ! I was thinking about performance on the radiator vs for air intake, maybe some other Noctua ones could be better? I pan to connect them all to NZXT Grid+ V3 (was also free ). In this case, do I need to connect Low noise adapters, or will they go low as possible without them. And is it a good idea to connect radiator fans to it as well (for smoother speed control), or should I leave them where they are now?
  7. Hey, I have a 7700K and the specs are in my signature. Fans that I have currently are the ones that came with my Kraken/Master case: They are not noisy, but I have an opportunity for a (free) upgrade, and wondering what to take.
  8. Hi all, I have an opportunity to upgrade some fans in my PC for free, but not a lot of time for research, so I thought to ask for a quick recommendations here. I have a Cooler Master Mastercase 5T and NZXT Kraken x52 AIO liquid cooler with all the fans that came with them. Since money is not an issue, my idea was to "Noctua-up" my PC and replace stock coolers with 3 x 140 mm for the case and 2 x 120 mm for the radiator with A series fans. Goal is to remain on the same temperature level and decrease the noise. My questions are: 1) Are there any better fans that would help me achieve my goal currently on the market? 2) Should I go fro PWM or DC fans? Why one compared to another? My case has integrated fan controller but only accepts 3-pins, and my motherboard has enough PWM headers to plug in directly. 3) Is A series good for radiators? Will I gain anything ifI replace stock fans? Will I loose ability to control fan speeds trough CAM software. Thank you all in advance for help.
  9. Same monitor, same chair, same problem :O . For me, it happens only when I move away from my PC, so at first I thought that it is due to some very advanced cryptominer virus on my PC, that somehow got hold of my webcam feed and detects when I'm away so it can hog on my resources. My paranoia was only amplified when I noticed that it corresponds with bursts of Ethernet activity... But I'm actually glad that I found our that it's only electrostatic issue :D . Phew!
  10. Hi all, I'm building an video ingest system for my company and I would like some recommendations regarding the case. Ideally it would need to have all/most of these options: 1) Normal eATX or just ATX motherboard support - and also for ATX PSU 2) 3-5 RU high 3) 4-8 3,5" slots, - ideally externally accessible and hot-swap-able (SATA) 4) 1-2 5,25" slots 5) Rich and modern front panel I/O - couple of USB 3.2 Gen 2, Thunderbolt 3... 6) Nice aesthetics would be a plus Essentially this would be a very powerful consumer PC in a server case. It would be used for ingesting all kind of video material. Closest I could find would be a Frankenstein of these cases: https://www.inter-tech.de/en/products/ipc/storage-cases/4u-4408 https://www.ipc.in-win.com/IW-R400-01N https://www.ipc.in-win.com/IW-RS424-02M Main issue is input methods accessible from the front (which would ideally consist of BD-ROM, USB 3.2 x 4, Thunderbolt 3, internal SD/MMC/XD/CF card reader, internal SxS card reader...), and I know that I could install it additionally, but I^m having problem finding these as well, especially thunderbolt 3 on front panel, so recommendations on that end would also be welcome. Thanks
  11. Hi all, I want to buy a new monitor for my brother, but I'm having difficulty choosing. Use case: Gaming 30% - Watching movies 30% - Web browsing 40% Required specs are: Size : 23"-25" (space constraints) Resolution : 1080p (limited by 1050Ti) Aspect ratio : 16:9 No curve Desired attributes : 1) High refresh rate over 90 Hz (because it's nice for other things except gaming) 2) Some sort of VRR (G-Sync would be nice, but at the price Freesync would be OK too I guess...) 3) VA panel (for blacks in movies). IPS second, TN third 4) Low input lag (more important than response time) Anything comes to mind? My choices are : Acer KG251QF ; LG 24GM79G-B ; ViewSonic XG2401 ; Dell UltraSharp U2419HC ; or older Dell UltraSharp U2417H ; A bit more pricey Acer Predator XB1 XB241H bmipr and ASUS ROG Swift PG248Q are outside of range, but would consider them if they are significantly better. Any thoughts? Any favourites? Any other that you would consider? Thanks in advance :) !
  12. I was hoping for this as well, but my prediction is that this launch will not influence 1080 and Ti prices. I'm also buying from German market, and for some weird reason 1080 is in stock everywhere but is around 650€ mark - 100€ more than it should be. I am building new 7700K system and will be running of IGP until prices come back to normal at least. At the same time I'm eying amazon warehouse deals, but I'm not sure if that is a good idea, ie were those cards used for mining and returned within 30 days, or if they have different origin. Your thoughts?
  13. I was investigating a bit further regarding my options... I need an opinion on these (if anyone has one ) : https://www.dynaudio.com/home-audio/xeo/xeo-2 How are they for 1) movies 2) music 3) gaming ? These would be priority list - in that order - for my needs (as music and games will be mostly handled by headphones) They seem to have everything that I need. I may open up my wallet a bit further and get them in they are worth it . If I understand correctly, I can just get SPDIF from my motherboard to the speakers, and then they do the rest ? Is there anything a bit cheaper with similar functionality ?
  14. Thanks again for all the help How good are these mics for picking up sound from couple of meters of distance ? Thanks for the advice but I want a headset. I will also most likely buy Massdrop HD 6XX, Headset is much more convenient for me for in-game chat, and I love my Sennheiser PC 360 and I can't really fault them. They have served me for 5 years flawlessly. If G4ME ONE are not worse, I will be buying them as well. So now I need an advice gaming vice - Motherboard audio vs something external. Saving is not the goal here, but getting an optimal setup. And I wonder about Kanto as well. Sure JBL may sound good, but they are studio monitors - meaning ugly, with XLR inputs etc... not really optimised for desktop use. How does something meant for home use, like JBL Studio 230 compare ?
  15. Thank you all for advice ! I appreciate it. Anything nicer looking then these JBL's to recommend ? I would prefer something that is designed to sit on a desk and with a PC in mind, while these are studio monitors. Of course sound quality is absolutely priority still, but comfort of having a volume knob, on/off switch in front, remote control and some other features would be appreciated as well. What would be the advantage of JBL to A5+ ? How good are HD 650 in regard to positional audio while gaming? If I get them what would be the source of choice to pair with them? Micca Origin is unavailable for me
