  1. Only reason I went with the 750W was compared to the 650 that I was going to go with, they're the same price right now. My logic behind it was to have room to upgrade the rest of the system. Is there a benefit to going with 2x8 ram versus 4x4, and adding two more 8gb sticks instead of upgrading all four?
  2. Thoughts on this? http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vv2vVY I haven't included any fans or other cooling accessories, due to the fact that I'm not sure if I want to mod the case.I know the Cosmos S will support a 360mm radiator up top, with room for another 360 and an optical drive in the front, with a little work.
  3. A sort of mid-range gaming build. I'm not quite sure to be honest, I've never had as much interior space as this thing has to work with.
  4. So, the other day a coworker gave me a Cosmos S that he was planning on scrapping, and staring at the behemoth, I honestly have no idea what to build in it. So I'm coming to you guys for ideas. I've attached a picture of the monster in question (and please excuse the cable mess on my current rig )
  5. During the winter, mine's on 24/7, because I live in an ooold apartment building and the heat's not the best, and they don't want any space heaters. Now that Summer's nearly upon us, it gets turned off every once in awhile, when my room gets too hot.
  6. I apologize for grave digging this thread, but if anybody's interested, I got an email from Thomas over at cablemods the other day, letting me know that the EVGA NEX650G is now supported by their configurator. Cheers!
  7. Thanks for the information, I'll go take a look for pre wired ones.
  8. So I have a person who works with me ask if I could build his girlfriend's seven year old daughter a budget computer for her to do homework and simple flash games on. I then talked to his girlfriend, and learned her daughter's favorite color is purple, so I decided, as a gift, I was going to provide the case (a Corsair SPEC-01 or -02), and add purple fans. Thinking further in, I decided to change the power LEDs from red to purple as well, and was curious how hard they are to replace. I know LEDs tend to be pretty simple, and just wanted to ask before I bought the stuff to see if I'd encounter anything unexpected. Thanks in advance, Dae
  9. So I've accidentally bought a Corsair Carbide Spec-02. Has anybody had any experiences with this case? And should I keep the Thermal take case, or switch? Thanks in advance
  10. So, this has been a long time coming, but I've bought RAM (8gb of hyperX to start with), the 750Ti (which I know most of you will hate, but, hey, it suits my needs), an SSD, some case fans. It runs well for all the games that I play, and the system doesn't look half bad. I'll add pictures in the next day or two, but my current plans for finishing it are 8gb more of RAM, a 1 tb hard drive to replace the dinky 250gb laptop drive I've stuck in as a temporary solution, a modular PSU, and a disk drive. That, and maybe two more fans if I can find a lower profile PWM type 120mm fan.
  11. Alright. I might borrow an older video card and ram from a friend today just to make sure all my current parts post, and if they do, I'll load Linux and give it a basic test
  12. Had the opportunity to pick up a sandisk 120gb ssd for $38 and some change at a parts store today, so I went ahead and picked it up
  13. My only issue with that would be the fact that due to space constraints, it's going to be on carpet under the desk. Unless I get a board or something to give it clearance.
  14. So my second image broke because I didn't modify the URL, so last try:
