  1. Ok, thank you guys. It still shows some posts which I assume are cached from 3 weeks ago. Is this about the time they overhauled? I'll use mobile from now on
  2. I'm not too sure as there are seperate sections for each on the RGB website. I'll try and see what happens. Thank you
  3. As it says in the title guys. I can't get my nighttime fix of LTT forums as tapatalk isn't working It works okay with other forums, it's just this one. I'm on iPhone 6S ios 9.0.2 if that helps, i've uninstalled and reinstalled and still same issues. The specific error I get is: Page not found The forum server cant seem to find that page. thanks for your help guys
  4. Hey all, I just got my Corsair Strafe RGB in the post today! Loving the switch to mechanical. I have had a browse through the RGB profiles on Corsair's RGB Share site but there doesn't seem to be that many. Are there any other communities where people upload this sort of stuff? This feels so much better to type than on a 10 year old membrane keybaord lol...
  5. Thanks guys. Abdul i3 is out of the question as its not going to run ark with igpu. So basically do I need an X on the end of the chipset to overclock? Should I just play it safe and get 88X?
  6. Hey all, After building my own £1500 rig, my other half won't get off of it. Thing is she only ever plays ark and doesn't really notice when I've turned the graphics down. Also I am running a awful old PC as a HTPC with Linux, which I am selling along with some other bits soon. My budget will be about £200. One major thing to note though is that I already have a fair few spare parts to put into it. These are: 128GB SSD 250GB HDD x2 8GB 1866MHz RAM (2x4) 450W PSU I have chosen the NZXT S340 as the case (I have a H440 and would love a "little brother" for it). I basically have about £140 for the mobo and cpu. I'm planning on getting an A8-7600 APU, but don't know about chipsets as if the APU is overclock able I would do that, but I only understand Intel chipsets. Is the APU a good choice or can I get something better for the same or a little bit more? The most intensive thing itll be used for is ARK at 720p, or 1080p on low if it can handle it, at above 30fps most of the time.
  7. Ok cheers guys. I have the 4gb in dimms 2 & 4 as I used to have a 212 evo. To save me digging out the manual does anyone know what config it should be for a MSI Z97S SLI Krait board?
  8. What's the likelihood of failure? Or is it literally a 50/50 job? I've mixed and matched in low budget servers before and never had a problem
  9. Hi all, I was certain this would work fine, but just doing some double checking and I feel the people on Tom's hardware that I've read from are 10 year olds with no clue, or maybe I am genuinely wrong. I currently have Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866 2x4GB In dual channel on a Z97 board. I have just brought the EXACT same (timings, speed, brand) BUT it's a larger size, and the current ram is only a month old so possibly same batch, but it's a 16GB kit. This would mean I'd have 24GB RAM (2x4 & 2x8). I was under the impression this is absolutely fine but now I'm wondering as I've read loads of people saying "no it wont work", but then again they are also saying the sweet spot for an editing / gaming PC is 8GB lol... Please, just reassure me this'll be fine. And be nice, I feel like a noob now after this
  10. I ran mine at 1.35 for a few months too and it was fine, I just didn't feel happy. At the end of the day you can use whatever coolant you want, LN2 even, but pushing that voltage too high WILL cause the transistors to start taking damage over time leading to, best case, a few blue screens. Worse case: death. I think everyone has their own say on where that degradation begins. Most say between 1.3 and 1.4 for Haswell. I personally see it about 1.32, but my motherboard moans past 1.29.
  11. Nope sorry, just judging it by how close people were running Haswell compared to stock. Skylake too new for that kind of info
  12. It's only a CM Seidon 120v ver2, it's a temporary thing until I get a custom loop on the go. Is 1.35 safe for 24/7? Seems a bit high and looking to get about 5 yr lifespan
  13. If you up the voltage cooling may be fine, but bare in mind that the voltage is ultimately what degrades the chip. Cooling it isn't going to slow that down. Although it should last the time you want it to.
  14. Hi all, I RMA'd my 4690k due to it being defective. It was running at 4.4GHz @ 1.275 on an AIO cooler. It was sagging behind a little bit so I put the extra in and jumped to the i7. Just wondering, what should I start at for overclocking? I've seen a lot out there that these are far better overclockers than the 4690k. Also are we talking 1.25v-ish for a safe overclock 24/7 like the 4690k? Thanks guys.
  15. Thanks mate, it's a start. That's about £70, so knowing their actual value, i should be good to put them up for £100, accept any offer above £70 and let people think they're getting a good deal in the process
