I was thinking of the i5 4690k because I plan to overclock the cpu as I did with the one I have now.

I woul upgrade your cpu as it might bottleneck your gpu

2cores is not enough for modern games

Edit: spelling plus added last sentence

I reckon it's still in development in the sense that you should consider this a beta. Hopefully larger issues like the loading times will be addressed and optimized over time.

I agree with Oshino Shinobu, you dont need a 750w psu. If you want you can go up to 600w but 550w is enough

that case kinda needs hard-line water cooling to look good, I would do what @JoshPC said and sell it (now if you wish) to by a cheaper case and a better GPU and/or CPU.

Edit: really sorry, skim read your post and missed the point.

No LGA1150 cpus have more than 4 cores
Also sell it, a G3258 and a 960 seems like a bad match

A 4790k is better. Normally it costs a little more than the locked 4790 but you can squeeze quite a bit more performance out of it by overclocking (that is if u want to overclock it dont worry it's easy)

EDIT: You also need a better cooler than the stock one for overclocking so keep that in mind

Since when is the B85 PRO GAMER locked??? All aftermarket motherboards should support overclocking, even those in prebuilts, sometimes.
Also z97 motherboard have more usb 3.0, more sata ports, native raid support, and support broadwell desktop cpus (no one uses broadwell on desktop they suck and dont make sense don''t consider this a buying point

raid support and K cpu overclock. thats why i said that the non-k i7 4790 is good for you. no need to spend more money on a K cpu+z97 board

Never tried this myself, actually; let me say, as a first time user of that feature, that is a really sketchy looking webpage for something that is actually totally legit

Download CPU-Z and click on the Mainboard tab. On your motherboard page, go to Support. It'll request your OS and once you give it, you'll see options to download BIOS revisions.

It's a fine choice, beware though, the xeon doens't have integrated graphics so you will have to have a dedicated GPU!

Yes, there are a lot of hackers out there - and sadly most are out there to be dickheads. But you get grouped with people who are the same as you (Mental State, ingame). If you behave and dont kill a lot of people etc, you wont be in a lobby full of hackers doing that.

Sounds like business as usual, modding online with friends is fun, but it's not fair to do it to randoms. If I'm not playing with friends, I don't play online due to the number of modders just out to be dicks.

Asus B85-PLUS or any other B85 motherboard that has an LGA 1150 socket is good.

GoldDimTzam69 reacted to slightlyjaded in Why are Steam card more expensive than their value?
First I would make sure that the retail price is what they're supposed to be selling for. It might not be steams fault, it might be the local retailer selling at above market value.

I have issues with steam pricing, but it's usually about their region prices (Australian....95% markup on digital media just because it's Australia is a bit much)

That said They're usually fair within their guidelines, if there' a discrepancy take it up with steam, and hope you get a response within a week or so.

Its because the store marks them up so they make a profit as well not just steam. The store also needs to pay for shipping, staff and running costs. Thats why I stopped buying from a store and opened an paypal account and used the money stright from my bank account with no extra cost at all. Hopefully that helps you.

The board isn't locked. Asus enabled overclocking for Haswell-R CPUs on pretty much all boards quite a while back (for the launch of the G3258).

It would just need a BIOS update to work properly. http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/review-asus-b85-pro-gamer-motherboard-makes-affordable-gaming-diy-systems-possible/results-power-consumption-overclocking-conclusion-1

Even though it can overclock, the 1231 v3 is still a better option. The power delivery on the B85 boards isn't enough to really get much out of a K series CPU.

If you're editing too, go for the 1231 v3. It's essentially a 4790 without an iGPU
