  1. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7603/mac-pro-review-late-2013 I thought it was interesting how competitive the price was compared to the other workstations especially considering the form factor. I think that Linus will be surprised by the fan noise result. Anand said DIY will still save you money but for Heavy workload OSX users it isn't a bad value.

  3. In my opinion there is little reason to go with either of those cards for 1080. So if it were me I would go 780 and a 1440p monitor

(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-11-12 03:03 EST-0500) $2750 with the monitor. The fractal design define r4 has a 12v/5v/3v fan controller and and fans included a quite good. Plus the asus motherboard has great fan control as well as things like wireless ac and 40 PCIe lanes. This in my opinion would be a much better way to spend your budget.
  6. I would sacrifice some ssd storage in favor of getting an i7. Maybe get a 250gb samsung 840 evo

  11. I was wondering how well all these components would go together for gaming. I plan on building a computer in the next couple weeks and I am pretty firm on a $1000 budget. Note I plan to add a 120gb samsung 840 evo and a cpu cooler with any money I get for Christmas. These are the parts I have so far.
