  1. I'm looking to get a DiY Liquid cooling kit specifically for a Intel I9-7920X. I'm planning on using a Coolermaster C700p and want to Front Mount the Radiator and i dont want to Liquid cool my Gpu's. I dont want to overclock but i've never used anything more than a AiO cooler and feel like stepping up to a custom loop is a good idea for me. Any suggestions on a DiY Kit that fits the socket would be amazing.
  2. i dont see AMD releasing anything new for TR till later next year... and i sort of need the hardware upgrade soon O. O
  3. I work for a Studio thats signed under Devolver Digital
  4. My intention is 2 Titans / GTX 1180ti's with a USB 3.1 hub in the PCiE lanes. if i wanted more on my PCiE 's id go Xenon with Quadro's... but then my system will struggle to do part of the work in realtime rendering and gaming.
  5. Another thing i should mention is, i dont plan on upgrading my hardware every year or 2... id like a system that will last 5 years without much need to upgrade (maybe CPU or GPU)... my current system has lasted me around 7 years now and other than the GPU & CPU being replaced its pretty much as i build it.
  6. OK... its been a while since i last upgraded my hardware and i've been given a decent budget (£5k | $6.9k) from my Studio to overhaul my system... im keeping my current GPU's till the next gen GTX/Titans come out so dw about that on the budget and i need to keep around £1300/$2000 aside for Software upgrades. if your wondering what i do, im a Character artist in the Games industry and i do a fair amount of work at home. I pretty much need Raw performance for work reasons and Video Encoding for portfolio stuff. On top of this i need Upgradability for a few years down the line. Im currently looking at either the Threadripper 1950X or the Intel i9-7920X For motherboards i was looking at a Asus ROG for the Threadripper and a Asus WS for the Intel. As for RAM im leaning on either 32gb's or 64gb's My storage plan is to get a 1tb m.2 and a 12gb HDD. the Case im going to get is a Coolermaster C700p (Mostly cause my partner has one and i love how it looks and the space inside) I know both Threadripper and i9 have their benefits and pitfalls but currently im leaning mostly on the Intel for Driver reasons... but i know Threadripper makes up for it in performance. the Software i use is: - Zbrush (CPU Multicore and RAM heavy) - Marvelous Designer (CPU Multicore and RAM heavy) - Maya (All round performance heavy) - Substance (CPU, RAM and Vram heavy) - 3D coat (Same as Substance just a little more stable) - Marmoset Toolbag (well balanced outside texture baking and video rendering) and Adobe CC (depending on software Performance heavy to performance light) My goal is overall performance, stability and controllable temps... i dont plan on Overclocking but a Custom loop for the CPU is an option
  7. Realized that i should upgrade my software when i do my new desktop :| price of this Threadripper build has jumped up because of software T- T

  8. just order a DVI/HDMI cable... there like £$10 for a decent length one
  9. i guess it would be more beneficial waiting a few months for more to come on the market
  10. The reason why im looking in to HDR is cause i want to push my work and i cant really do HDR work on a none HDR display if waiting till early next year will yield better results then so be it but i was looking at the PG348Q from Asus
  11. its not much of a price leap to 1440p tbh... but you can get higher fps displays in 1080p so... preferences tbh
  12. they both have Ultra wide's atm that have HDR
  13. im looking for a decent HDR display 27"+ for my new Gaming workstation. Price limit is £1500 but its a less is more situation, 1440p or 4k, High frame rate is a massive bonus.

Currently planning out a new Desktop to help sp…

I will do a build log... im thinking of doing a single liquid loop just for the CPU... i dont rally think standard AIO coolers build for most chips will be able to cool a full thread ripper chip so :3
  16. Currently planning out a new Desktop to help speedup my work.
    Planned Spec is

    CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X
Motherboard: Asus ROG Zenith Extreme (May change if a Workstation Asus Board is released though)
    RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4x8gb) 2400Mhz DDR4

    CPU Cooler: AIO Cooler (TBD)
    GPU(s): GTX 1080ti (Or 1180/1180ti/Titan if released)
    Case: Coolermaster C700p
    PSU: Corsair RM1000x

    OS/Driver/Software Drive: WD m.2 1TB Internal SSD

      Well... yeah :|

atm im looking in to HDR monitors

  17. £9k is to cover getting a New Cintiq and Display aswell so... more £5k considering how much they will set me back Currently a TR build is gonna be around £4000 but a i9 is around £3800... At this point in time though, Intel kinda feel like they kind of Screwed up with the X299 chips They feel like they where rushed im kind of leaning more on TR but without decent benchmarks its kind of moot Currently im planning on doing my build with either a CPU: Threadripper / Intel i9 RAM: 32GB DDR4 GPU's: Dual GTX1080 ti''s Boot/Driver/Core Software: 1tb M.2 Storage/Library: 6TB HDD
  18. i will do some research on the software i use its not a short list ^-^" The highest performance impacting software i have are all Render based but Dual GTX 1080 ti's will do fine for that
  19. Works giving me about £9k to put together a new system for our next My current system tanks in performance after about 3 hours work so need the performance given the leap in quality we are going for ^-^" that why im looking at a i9 or TR
  20. Im in desperate need to upgrade my hardware currently im running an AMD FX-6100 CPU which was ok when i made it like 6 years ago. I made it for my work but recently its started holding me back. Im a 3D character/Creature artist and game Designer but i work from home most the time so my hardware is REALLY important. I know Threadripper isnt fully out yet and Benchmarks are only really starting to surface but if im honest i just want a second opinion. I know Intel tends to not update their workstation sockets often so i feel an i9 would be a good move for me, However AMD rarely changes their sockets. From what i can tell Threadripper will be a more stable future safe platform for me to move on. Price really isnt an issue for me because of Tax deduction. Anyways, opinions on Threadripper or i9's?
  21. I have been working on my portfolio for the past few months... I dont really know what else to say other than "Hey im still alive :D"

    Headset Help

I need a new headset... I'm currently using a pair of SkullCandy Hesh and well... they aren't the best, the are OK for listening to music and that's about it. Iv been looking at the 7.1 Headsets but i dont know if they are worth it. I was originally looking at the Asus Strix 7.1 but the Razer Man'o'War 7.1 and Steelseries Arctis 5 7.1 but i cant find any good consistent reviews on any of them. Yes they need to be 7.1 Virtual/True because i used to have a pair of Roccat Kave's 5.1 and they where the best headphones i have ever had, since they broke i have been looking for a decent replacement upgrade. Any suggestions for other headsets would be amazing and feedback on the headphones mentioned above (Not the Roccat Kaves) will be awesome. No Wireless/bluetooth headphones please
