  1. Im actually concerned about what size tubing/fittings I should get
  2. Do you have any links? I wish I could do rigid tubing, but since its my first custom loop I should probably do soft tubing because it also costs less. That being said I wouldn't have an issue doing rigid tubing since I will have all the help I would need with this loop. Have a few people with experience helping me.
  3. Hi Guys, After some research I have came to figure out what Water Blocks and Rad I want. I want a single loop, that has a CPU and GPU block. The loop would go to the CPU, and directly to the GPU to make it shorter tubing wise and just to make things easier. I am a little lost with choosing Tubing Fittings and the Pump/Res (with a combo or without a combo) so I am asking for suggestions on it. The part I have chosen already are: CPU Block: EK-Supremacy MX Link GPU Block: EK-FC1080 GTX - Nickel Link Radiator: EK-CoolStream CE 280 (Dual) Link These parts will be used to cool: CPU: i5-6600k GPU: GTX 1070 Reference Board in a NZXT S340 I am also open to suggestions on changed on current cooling parts, however I am on a limited budget and I have decided the ones chosen can fit within it. Thanks! -ConiferousJelly
  4. It gives the option on the website to have the water block pre-filled for an extra fee, It would work but adding it all up its pretty expensive for the predator, water block, and the pre-filling of the water block so it works with the predator. Thanks!
  5. So here is my boat, I have a set budget that will allow me a 6600k, GTX 1070 Founders Edition with 7.65% sales tax (Around $485), and an NZXT S340 with all the other components. If I get an MSI Aero 8g, that will allow more money for the loop, and also using $75-100 allotted for a CPU cooler plus the extra money that isn't enough for an upgrade to any component I have extra I can afford a water loop. If I wouldn't be doing a loop like this, I would have to put the money towards the CPU cooler and the EVGA GTX 1070 FTW Edition so I could get the most performance out of that card because that is whats allotted in the budget. (Is this making sense or no lol, just let me know ill make it easier to read)
  6. Since I am new to water cooling a GPU, couldn't I get the Predator 240 and add on the GPU water block with service refill and just connect it that way to make it easier? Also, would that 1080 Water Block work with the 1070 or would I need to wait until EK came out with one for the 1070?
  7. Just wanna see what the cost would be and what I will all need, I wanna try something new since I have some flexibility with this build
  8. So like a lot of people, for my next rig to replace my current and old one, I am going to be building one that features a GTX 1070. I was thinking, instead of paying the premium for a EVGA FTW model, I could spend some more money and do a custom loop that can cool both my CPU and GPU while purchasing a MSRP priced card like the Msi Aero 8g. That being said, I am not sure what I absolutely need, and what would work. So I am asking you guys; For the part list below, what water cooling parts do I need and would work? CPU: i5-6600k GPU: GTX 1070 (One with a reference PCB) Case: NZXT S340 (All the other parts are undecided, HOWEVER if you need to know a different component I am using, I can give you what I am looking at) I am wanting what is relatively inexpensive and can give me good performance. Thanks, ConiferousJelly
  9. I'm not that worried about the premium, just about performance. Really hoping EVGA will have the GTX 1070 SC available tomorrow though, that would be best case scenario.
  10. So I am planning a run to Micro center tomorrow to get most of the components for my next build, one of them could possibly be a graphics card. Since this will be my last build for a while, and it needs to last will the Founders Edition GTX 1070 hold up? I hear that the reference coolers are mediocre and louder than ones to come, will I have an issue with getting the FE on day one? As in, will having the reference cooler cost performance in the long run considering I am going to be running it in a Mini-ITX build? Thanks, ConiferousJelly
  11. This thread has completely detailed the reasons I should not, and can not go through with my next build with VR in mind. Bomb ass monitor will be put aside, but putting that extra money into the PC will be worthwhile. An upgrade from a i5-6600k to i7-6700k, better aesthetic and keeping my 750ti and the rest of the money for Pascal/Polaris when it comes in the seemly closer future seems WAY better. Thanks guys
  12. Ahh yes... I am not someone who needs max and all of that, heck I am fine with the lowest as long as I am getting 60FPS (Or 90 in VRs Case) Thanks! Ill probably be building around April-ish, so hopefully by the AMD has better and newer GPUs by then, and if so even though I prefer Nvidia whatever is better I will do. Very Unlikely that will happen though Installing now, thanks alot. Gives me a huge point of reference with my 960 Yes, but if lower settings is what has to happen, I am fine with that. The one and only VR guy, I agree... will splurge and max out 6 credit cards to do so
  13. Hi Everyone, As the title asks, will the GTX 970 be sufficient for Virtual Reality within the next 2-3 years. I am looking at the just announced consumer HTC Vive and am tinkering around with an idea to build my second and final system until my upgrade cycle comes. With not having a huge budget if I were to get the Vive, would the GTX 970 do? I am thrilled about the idea I just am worried that the 970 won't keep up as seeing the two launch games don't look to resource intensive OTHER than the whole VR Part Thanks, ConiferousJelly
  14. I would love an SSD in my system because i currently don't have one in my primary system I need one because start-up times on this thing is terrible... uggg.
  15. What tier would the Corsair CX 600M Be put in? Tell me if i'm blind and its on the list but I didn't see it
  16. Hi Everyone, I have been tinkering around with the idea of building a HTPC that we could not only use for our own movies and shows recorded but also be able to stream Netflix and Hulu from the same box. What software allows for this experience that is easy to use and only have to use one app for? Thanks, ConiferousJelly
  17. When I built my system, I absolutely needed a Wi-Fi card, but ended up not getting one. I would say just get powerline. Thats what ive got and it works flawlessly. Wi-Fi can be good at points but bad at others. My powerline atleast has been very consistent unlike my wifi...
  18. I know right! I was surprised when I saw it! I did not think it would be that worth it to sell, but if it sold around 50 bucks it would make the 750ti a worthy upgrade at only 75bucks.
  19. Hello Everyone, So I recently swapped out my BFG GTS 250 for an EVGA 750TI while I wait for the 1000 series cards. Right now the BFG Tech GTS 250 is going for around $50 used on Ebay right now. So I ask, should I just sell it now or keep it for uses down the road and why? Thanks, ConiferousJelly
  20. Meh, Id rather pay $220 at Microcenter
  21. Yeah, you should be good keeping that for a while unless you need it for more intense games. It felt good upgrading but I didnt feel in the dark with that card. GG man
  22. I literally just upgraded from the GTS 250. I had it for years before and it always worked great. I upgraded to the GTX 750ti but am strongly debating a return and going for a 950 or 960. Lovely to see someone that still has the same GPU I had
  23. Hi Guys, I have been around the forums here lately, creating topics. I would reply to some but I feel like I am not experienced enough to provide some feedback . But anyway, I have talked and looked around and gotten feedback from you guys, and I present my final build. Is there any last minute changed I need to make? I get that I could get better performance with a R9 390, but I have asked for a G-Sync monitor for the holidays, and Im pretty sure Im getting it So yeah, have to keep it Nvidia . Also my budget is $850, so everything below meets that.
