  1. I literally just built my new rig in this case today and here are my thought correlating to the video and just in general: Build quality is very sturdy, I heard all these bad things from this video and it literally worried me, it got here and I was shocked how good it was. I don't know wtf Luke is talking about with the PCIE cover slot screws being hard to remove, we had a screw driver kit kinda like an ifixit one and it was literally the easiest thing, if they seriously don't have something like that they should seriously get one... I was really disappointed when it came to running cables to the mobo, I mean granted if I had custom sleeved cables it would have probably been fine but it seemed like I was squishing cables like my 24pin coming through to the other side. Also there is only 1 cable gramet and I would've thought there would've been more. There was enough cable management room in the back for me because I ziptied them all, and honestly if someone doesn't want to put a little bit of time into some cable management they shouldn't be buying this case at all because of that tempered glass panel on the back. If anyone has any questions just shoot me a DM and I'd be happy to answer them
  2. I am doing my very best and hope that it will work out
  3. UPDATE: Cryorig H7 Cooler is on order from Newegg, now I just wait and see which i7 I'll get. Thanks everyone for the great help!
  4. Wallet decided i7-6700 for sure, just gotta let it decide if it gets the K treatment "Second, it's NOT useless. Z170 will allow him to use his 3200mhz RAM to it's fullest, which is going to provide a nice boost in performance." Didn't even think of that, I got the fast ram for more performance and wouldn't want to lose that. Plus like I said it may come in handy down the road with a next-gen CPU. Thanks!
  5. I actually looked at the Xeon's, but at the time I started looking at options besides the i5, my motherboard was already on order and they aren't compatible. I actually would have preffered a Xeon anyway, basically a i7-6700 without integrated graphics that I have no need for.
  6. Yeah, Micro Center fluctuates in between $199.99 and $209.99 for the i5-6600k and $299.99 and $309.99 for the i7-6700k, they just don't seem to have any other stores lowering their prices so they wont lower them. Hopefully it drops soon but its kinda hard because their newsletters lock the prices for 3days and it seems that its still on that upper mark, going to be getting it sometime between Wednesday-Friday so hopefully it drops and it makes it easier to get the 6700k.
  7. Yeah, my decision has been made for the i7-6700 at least, gonna try to swing the i7-6700k because OVERKILL Yep, as I said gonna try to swing it because its top of the line and will last, thanks
  8. Hoping that's the case, my other rig is using a Z170 mobo with an i5, hoping that I can upgrade to next-gen i7 and keep the mobo for a great performance gain I get that, but couldn't turbo boost help make the performance gap in those cases smaller? The 6700 clocks at 3.4 but turbos to 4.0, where the 6700k clocks at 4.0 and only turbos to 4.2, If I am not overclocking either CPU, when a program is stressing the CPU and the 6700 turbos to 4.0 and the 6700k turbos to 4.2, what difference does the .2 make? I am mainly gonna be gaming but I also use the Adobe Creative Suite frequently so I think the i7 could help boost that. Like you said, I don't think the difference will be very substantial because turbo boost is a factor. Nonetheless, I will be trying to get the 6700k as it will be greater in the long run. Just making sure that if I can't I will still be fine with the 6700. Interesting. Nah that's why even if I get the 6700 I will be getting the Cryorig H7, don't want my rig to be loud or let the CPU get too hot. I won't even be overclocking the 6700k until a while into its use so 15% improvement would be even smaller than it is.
  9. Errrr overclocking, really don't wanna lol. Everything is ordered, the motherboard is already on its way because I got a snazzy deal on it Already got the mobo and should be here on Wednesday, wish I would've assessed this option before then lol. This is probably the best option, will also give me the option to upgrade to a future gen if its on the same socket. Anyway I got a good deal on the mobo and it matches my color scheme. I mean obviously I knew I was gonna be told that I should get the 6700k, and if I can swing it, definitely gonna do it. I'm just curious on the performance difference between the K and Non-K versions in case I can't do the 6700k.
  10. I +1, try to get your CPU before GPU and plug it in and use on board graphics, Also gives you the added benefit of having a working PC while you wait for the GPU.
  11. So it all comes down to this, all my parts for my next rig are either already here or on there way, except for my CPU and CPU Cooler. I plan to grab a CPU from Micro Center, and my CPU cooler will vary on where I get it from. Here is what I have so far: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Motherboard: EVGA Z170 FTW ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (Purchased For $139.99) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (Purchased For $76.19) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card (Purchased For $473.00) Case: Anidees AI-Crystal ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For $142.00) Power Supply: Corsair RMx 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $90.00) Total: $921.18 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-08-07 01:31 EDT-0400 I now have $290 left for my CPU and CPU cooler, I already know that isn't enough, so I am working on getting an extra $50 and so I am budgeting $340. I have 2 primary options, and one secondary that would take some work to do. I can either get this combo, an unlocked i5 with liquid cooling: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($227.00) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($116.00) Total: $343.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-08-07 01:33 EDT-0400 I can also get this combo, a locked i7 with air cooling: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($302.00) CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($35.00) Total: $337.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-08-07 01:34 EDT-0400 My secondary option, which would be the most performance for even more money, an unlocked i7 with air cooling: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($333.72) CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($35.00) Total: $368.72 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-08-07 01:35 EDT-0400 What I ask you all is: Is it worth it to go with the locked i7 and the air cooler on a Z170 board, or would the i5 with liquid cooling make more sense, why? and If I were to go with an i7, how much more performance would the 6700k give me over the 6700? All the CPU prices are calculated with tax from micro center, as even with tax they beat out the prices of competitors with the added convenience of not having to wait for shipping. CPU cooler pricing is based off the two options, if I go with the liquid cooler I will have to pick it up from Best Buy or Micro Center (Depending if Micro center will price match it) and is calculated with tax, and if I go with the cheaper air cooler I will be able to order off Newegg and doesn't include tax because it is not added to the total. I don't want to overclock because I wan't this CPU to have a greater lifespan, the only time i'll overclock is when performance is degrading due to age of the CPU. Thanks Everyone, ConiferousJelly
  12. I am also entering my first year of high school. 1) I have the same brand backpack as the left one in the photo, there is a VERY small chance you would get made fun of for that, and if they do I have no idea what the are doing in life. 2) High school doesn't seem nearly as bad as it seems, sure of course the academics will be harder but when it comes to social, people should be more grown up. There is no logic in my mind how someone could think they could get away with making fun of something or something similar, if they do that its just looks bad for them, not you. 3) You probably have a backbone of friends from middle school, so you should be fine. If you are worried about the kids in Grades 10-12 don't worry, the aren't gonna mess with you, like I said high school now has very little similarities from what is said about it. It is okay to be scared, but like one guy said just act cool about it and you'll get the hang of it. I +1 this lol, those backpacks are great.
  13. You could try the Anidees Ai Crystal linked here. It just got trashed by Luke but is a very unique case. Tempered Glass on all side but the back, with a similar layout as the corsair 400c and has a very nice Graphics Card Holder, which is very helpful with graphics card sag. I will be receiving the case on Tuesday, really excited about it.
  14. Seems like a nice deal, I mean its cheaper than a 480 and performs relatively the same. Of course not on a newer architecture but it is cheaper.
  15. Above 60hz. So im good, my two monitors are only 60hz, and if I do upgrade to 1440p @ 144hz ill be good because with that a CPU upgrade will be viable.
  16. So I literally have the 1070 Strix sitting in its box next to me while I wait for my 6600k to arrive, is this seriously going to be a huge issue for me gaming at 1080p? Or is this just to show that while the difference is 150fps -140fps it is still technically a bottleneck?
  17. So me and my friend were wanting to skype today, but he wasn't hearing the sound from me. I went to echo, and I heard myself, so it wasn't my issue (At least I don't think) So we wen't on to discord, still couldn't hear me but discord could pickup my mic. Same issue with team speak. I checked his volume mixer and all of that and Skype wasn't muted, and he says that he can hear system sounds and game sounds. We tried everything and he still can't hear communication sounds. So I ask: Since they all are picking up my voice and echo even repeats it to me, can it be my fault? How do I fix it if it is or what is something I can try. and what can I tell him to do on his end, to try to make it work? Thanks in Advanced, ConiferousJelly
  18. It can be used to replace them, but the range still isn't enough to be able to replace 757s on very long routes like Helsinki-Toronto and Newark-Anchorage.
  19. I think that if Boeing wants to continue expanding the 787 it could actually be a replacement to the 767 and 757, if they ever explore the option of a 787-3 it can easily be a replacement for the 757 with the same amount of range. It also would have the same concept as the 757/767, the same pilots can fly both as its the same cockpit layout, but varying distances and amount of people. I just really want Boeing to offer an alternative to the 757, maybe something like a 737X or 737LR
  20. Naw fam, they are aiming to have multiple routes to the same destination at multiple different times to accommodate different travelers schedules. The 787 allowed for many routes to be created that wouldn't be profitable because they would have so many excess seats. Speaking from United's example, the 787 recently started operating from DEN to NRT, where they are almost always above 90% capacity maximizing profits were as with a 777 they wouldn't be filling it up. EDIT: These are known as Long and Skinny routes, operating long distances with less passengers.
  21. Yeah ill go with the EVGA mobo if the deal is still there when I buy it. Funny, I was looking at the layout right as you replied. If I did wan't to go SLI in the future would i still be able to use the PCIE slot or does it block the GPU from going in completely?
  22. I probably won't be over clocking for a while, if at all. Do you still recommend the EVGA board over the msi one? Its $210, my mobo budget is $160 That's something to consider, ill look into the layout.
  23. So for my next build I wanted a mainly black mobo, to go with my GPU and lighting kit so I can change them to any color without accents of a black/red clashing with any color. I have narrowed it down to these two motherboards. I didn't chose the MSI mobo because of the RBG, its cool but I don't need it. The EVGA one has a dust shield which I am a sucker for, but I am going to ask you guys, since they are the same price which one in you opinion is better and why? Thanks, ConiferousJelly
  24. Yep, the 1080 and 1070 hybrid kit are the same thing. You can find it here. Its $120 and is a DIY kit
  25. Actually a good idea, grab a FE version and when you get $120 buy the EVGA Hybrid conversion kit and your golden, all while getting the newer tech
