phongle123 got a reaction from inveretd_fullback in LTT Backpack, need clarity on laptop sleeve
In the video, Linus discussed that it did not have a padding by design. The 3 inserts are seamed together in a way that it protects the laptop as the bag is filled. By filled, what does this mean? Does it mean when the sleeved portions are filled or when the entire backpack is filled? I cannot fathom the requirement for the backpack to be filled to protect the laptop.

So, by this method I can only assume that the bottom of each device will be touching/cramped. Are the 3 sleeves for the laptop holders of of equal bottom length (because that is how it sounds like when he says the way they are seamed together) or are they of different lengths are the bottom to prevent the device bottoms from clanging into each other?

I've heard a mention that the laptop sleeve area is suspended from the ground so it does not actually touch the ground. Is this correct?

Dropping my backpack to the floor holding the top handle is pretty much normal for me. So, about 1 foot off the ground. It has never been a problem with any backpack I've owned. Since this backpack has no padding. Is this likely to be a problem?

    Thank you 🙂

One of these fixed the problem since I did them both and it started working:
    1) Uninstalled ethernet and refreshed through Device Manager and restart computer.
    2) Restarted router through the ATT App. I unplugged and re-plugged the router multiple times while trying to figure out the problem and it still had this problem.

So I recently went on my Motherboard page to check for any available BIOS updates and saw Norton Anti-Virus. http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370 Taichi/#osW1064

Does that mean that if I have this motherboard on and download this Norton Security, does that mean that is free and fully unlocked forever as long as I have this motherboard used?

Or is it just like a trial that I can get from Nortons own website?

The router is irrelevant, if both the NAS and the PC are connected directly to the switch. Other than that, yes.

To concur it will be fine. All of my current AA and AAA NiMH batteries are rated at 1.2V. I use a nitecore charger rated at 1.48V +/-1% and it is able to measure the voltage of the batteries it is currently charging. When they are fully charged they are anywhere from 1.46-1.5V. When they are drained and I put them in to charge, they start off at 1.2V.

Not really. Once the OS is loaded into RAM the USB stick mostly sits idle unless you're accessing files on the boot stick. There isn't any additional perk that I'm aware of.

Take it like this. If the game you currently play is 100%ing your GPU Usage then upgrading CPU will not help (i.e. multi-threaded game) even if your CPU is at like 20% usage. Not all multi-threaded games will take advantage of high core counts, so your GPU may not hit 100% and upgrading CPU in this case will help but not as greatly as the scenario in the next sentence. If your GPU is not at 100% Usage then a CPU with a better single threaded performance will help.

I was off about one thing and I did question it. It seems like the Titan RTX and the 2080 Ti and Below share the same NVLink connector. The 150$ difference was something I saw off of eBay for 220$ vs the 79.99$ price I remembered. After looking at the official NVidia page for the Titan RTX it shows a 79.99$ price tag. This leads me to believe that they are the same.

    @Princess Luna
Furthermore, when you look on the Titan RTX page it states, "Double the effective GPU memory capacity to 48 GB and scale performance with up to 100 GB/s in total bandwidth of data transfer utilizing the NVIDIA NVLink™ technology." Looking at the Quadro 6000 it states that it can, "Connect two Quadro RTX 8000s together with a Quadro RTX 8000 NVLink HB Bridge for up to 100 GB/s of bandwidth and a combined 96 GB of GDDR6 memory to tackle your largest rendering, AI, virtual reality, or visualization workloads."

From this article [Link here] it is stated that 2080 Ti have 100GB/s and the 2080 have 50GB/s bandwidth. So this probably means that the bandwidth capability is dictated by the GPUs. This is also why 2080 Ti's are able to Pool Memory unofficially. This feature seems to be locked by NVidia on the 2080 Ti cards. While the Titan RTX and the Quadro's can Pool Memory and they are also rated at 100GB/s bandwidth. Thought I can't seem to find the article for the 2080 Ti Memory Pooling anymore.

Ah, should work then. I wasn't aware there was an updated model. The updated Titan Ridge controllers do allow for USB-C DP Alt mode input as a backup, so it sounds like the new model has that. It should work with any USB-C source with DP support in that case.

If I were a hardware manufacturer, that's how I would make it look like to the application. It would seem silly for the application developer to have to manage and worry about a low level detail like this. And if I ask them to be aware of it and code specifically for it, unless they're a huge customer and they need the performance, they're probably not going to care. The only thing that the application developer would need to be aware of are those certain situations where the slower NVLink could impact performance, but that's a matter of profiling the application and avoiding scenarios that lead to the hardware doing that. Basically, it'd be no different than multi-socket CPU systems. Applications see the system with a single pool of RAM (even though there's two or more) and a bank of logical processors.

V-Ray also supports pooling with 2080/2080 Ti.  However, the NVLink bandwidth is low enough that using it slows things down a little if you do not need the extra VRAM capacity.

phongle123 got a reaction from Zev_7 in How many games could my laptop run before crashing?
It will never crash since that is practically the stock configuration. If it crashes with stock configuration than you could be having problems. When you run multiple programs that want to make use of all of your available resources then it will have to allocate resources rampantly for each program. If the game you're running happens to be in full screen and you also have a second game. The game running in full screen will have priority. Aside from not crashing the computer will just run very slowly as it continuously tries to allocate resources to each program. That is if the CPU and GPU are both maxed.

However, this is all fine since you have a 97Whr battery for extended testing. ?

Your current USB-install is made for UEFI-based computers and you need to make one for legacy BIOS, download iso2disc and if do not already have a Windows 10-ISO download one of those as well.

Start Iso2disc, point to your Windows 10-ISO, chose Burn to USB flash Drive then Partition Style MBR and Bootdisk Type Create Windows Installation USB Click Start Burn and after some time you should be set.

I want to chime in on this. Overclocking on Ryzen isn't as great as Intel. Therefore, if you can spare the cost between a 2700 and a 2700x it's better to get the 2700x rather than getting the 2700 and overclocking it.

I'd turn down Anti-Aliasing first and settings. However, I don't think that you'll go out and buy a new GPU just because you can't reach 60FPS on Ultra. Like any sane person, turn down the settings first.
