  1. Hello, looking at a 100w AC power bank and a 100w USB-C PD power bank. Wondering if all laptaps that are capable of USB-C PD are capable of taking in 100W through the USB-C port. I suppose that only that laptops that come with over 100W regular charger would be able to handle 100W PD. How do I find out? Mainly looking at the XPS 15.
  2. Anker USB C Hub, 7-in-1 USB C Adapter, with 4K USB C to HDMI, 100W Power Delivery, USB C Data Port, microSD/SD Card Reader, 2 USB 3.0 Ports, for MacBook Pro 2017/2018, Chromebook, XPS, and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HMLTCPL/
  3. Hello, looking at USB-C Hubs. The hub conducts up to 80W for charging the connected laptop and 20W for powering the hub. What does this mean? The USB-C Hub will use 20W all the time or will it only use 20w with the USB-C passthrough charging being used to charge the laptop through the hub? Does it only use 20W if every slot is being used or what?
  4. I've got 3x 1080 Ti and I actually removed 2-way SLI (did not use 3-way SLI) and just kept all 3 GPUs independent. You can simply go to settings and disable and enable SLI when you need it but it was a hassle for me to do constantly so I just left SLI off. Using SLI while in games that do not support SLI (your results may vary). My usage was lower on the primary card and I saw somewhere around 3-4% usage on the 2nd card in SLI. This resulted in lower FPS on average with SLI on non-SLI games vs having SLI off.
  5. Hello, I'm trying to find out if there's any device that can start my computer up from outside the house. So such reasons as taking control of my computer because I don't want to leave it running 24/7. I know that there is a device using Bluetooth that can turn your computer on and off. However, I am looking for one that can be done while outside of the home.
  6. Thank you. I edited my post about saying my power bank went from 100% to 2 lights (~50%) meaning it used half of the battery but my laptop had only gained 5%. This is through just regular Microsoft Edge browsing on the laptop with nothing else open so I was still using some power. However, I will try again with the laptop at 0% and the power bank at 100% with no use to see if the laptop at least makes it to 100%.
  7. The Power Banks USB-C PD port outputs "USB-C: 5-20V MAX 45W (15V/3A) or 40W (20V/2A);" which is able to match the 15v (14.8v) that the Laptops Nominal Voltage indicates. Which should not be a problem. Or is there a problem since the Power Bank's battery is rated at 3.7v? The Power Bank is indeed able to charge the Laptop through USB-C PD by the way. I'm not asking for if it will charge or how fast will it charge. I'm simply asking how much will it charge. Since, my power bank went from 100% to 2 lights (~50%) meaning it used half of it's battery but my laptop had only gained 5%. This is through just regular Microsoft Edge browsing on the laptop with nothing else open so I was still using some power.
  8. I understand this, I just gave a simplier question. I don't know the formula for it. But I know that at 3.7v it's 20k mah but at 5v its ~12k mah. So instead of asking at 15v how many mah would it have. This was a simplier question.
  9. Here's a scenario, this is the Power Bank I have Here which is able to deliver 45w through 15v3a. The laptop is able to support that 15v3a input from the USB-C PD Port. How much charge would I actually receive with the numbers from the OP.
  10. I mentioned charging via USB-C which supports the 15v 20v and lower charging. This is done through PD I should mention.
  11. Hello, so If i had a 20,000 mah power bank @3.7v = 74WHr and I have a 3180Mah laptop battery @14.8V = 47WHr charging through USB-C not considering power efficiency. Does that mean that I would be able to charge the laptop 1.57 times or is it not that simple?
  12. The same crowdfunding for Taihe Gemini 15.6" portable monitors exist on Kickstar and IndieGoGo. However, the IndieGoGo one looks fake. I've never used crowdfunding before. Wondering if its a huge mistake that I can take advantage of. Or this this type of thing normal where people create exact same crowdfunding of existing products to steal people's money? Since it says Indiegogo cannot refund your money only the creator can. For Kickstarter Owner: UNICK Over 741k Raised It says $80 OFF our retail value of $299! And is the correct 219 price. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/921065126/taihe-gemini-the-most-affordable-on-the-go-monitor For IndieGoGo Owner: Adam Morros Under 1k Raised It says save 80$ off 299$ which is 219 but the buy price is 80$. Also the crossed out price is 199$. The rest of the perks are the same the buy price is the save XX$ price. Also it says KS special instead of Indiegogo special. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/taihe-gemini-the-most-affordable-on-the-go-monitor#/
  13. I would disable all non-standard start-up programs (in Task Manager) and check if your OS is running any updates.
  14. Not a great time to do a CPU upgrade. Related to your OS swap problem, I can assure you (pretty good chance) that you will not have a problem. Usually, OS tie-ins are for OEM products (i.e. laptops, pre-builts). If you previously did a manual install of your W10 OS on your SSD then you *should* be able to swap between motherboards. 7nm Ryzen and 10nm Intel (supposively) next year. Since Intel has released 10nm NUC i3 CPUs in large batches recently.
  15. It will never crash since that is practically the stock configuration. If it crashes with stock configuration than you could be having problems. When you run multiple programs that want to make use of all of your available resources then it will have to allocate resources rampantly for each program. If the game you're running happens to be in full screen and you also have a second game. The game running in full screen will have priority. Aside from not crashing the computer will just run very slowly as it continuously tries to allocate resources to each program. That is if the CPU and GPU are both maxed. However, this is all fine since you have a 97Whr battery for extended testing. ?
  16. Is there any way to falsify the GPU to be the correct GPU to obtain AMD rewards from amdrewards.com?
  17. Hello, I just cloned my SSD to my NVMe using Macrium Reflect and when I select NVME from my boot drive on start up I get the black screen saying Insert Media or something of the sort.
  18. Hello, I am trying to install W10 on an old LGA775 socket motherboard. I am using a W10 Bootable USB that is usable on my AM4 board but simple gives me a single underscore when I try to boot it on my LGA775 board. I have looked at the few options the LGA775 bios offers and there doesn't seem to be a switch to enable legacy or USB booting. I do not have a W10 disk to boot from or a DVD reader for that matter. What are my alternatives? Trying my AM4 SSD on the LGA775 also resulted in an underscore (not a press any button to try again error). The PC originally had Windows Vista and that booted so the PC is working.
  19. Does Fallout 76 (PC) Bethesda Launcher & Microsoft Store play on the same Server?
  20. Planning on purchasing a 34" Curved UW (21:9) VA Panel 1440p to replace an Acer Predator 16:9 (normal) IPS Panel 1440p. I will be using the Acer Predator as a secondary monitor. 1. Anyone have any problems with color accuracy annoyances when placing VA and IPS side by side? 2. Also does a Curved UW fit good with a normal non-curved monitor as a secondary? Video Reference. This has a UW Curved + Non-Curved 16:9. Both are IPS however.
  21. Can you explain a little bit more. My knowledge in this area isn't great.
  22. Hello, I am considering an 1TB NVME for 3D Modeling. I want to: 1) Speed up Scene opening times. 2) Speed up random access when opening a folder of assets (having the assets show up immediately instead of the folder being blank for a few seconds then everything appearing in the folder--inside of the Modeling Software). 3) Speed up Asset importing. Like SSD vs NVME for game loading where you only gain 0-5s loading time advantage. I do not think that there will be any significant loading advantages in this case. By significant I mean anywhere 25% or faster (ex: if a scene takes 4mins to load an SSD; it should take 3 mins on an NVME). This will be used in a laptop to replace the stock 256GB SSD (non-NVME). If someone has experience or even a side by side video of this scenario. I would like to know the answer.
  23. Hello, is there an option to prevent my laptop from boosting to max frequency when the charger is plugged in? Normally, my laptop can get up to 2.6Ghz during normal tasks such as browsing. But When it is charging it jumps up to 3.7Ghz or higher while just browsing with 1 tab @~9% CPU usage. The reason being, I do not charge from a wall outlet. I use a 40w Power Bank to charge my laptop while I am on the go. A 20k power bank after 100%>50% only charges my laptop 5% that with me doing what I said the previous sentence. I'm sure it could be a lot more if it didn't boost the frequency the whole time it was charging. The power option is set to lowest and minimum processor state for both on battery and while charging are set to 5% already.
  24. Dell Inspiron 7573 56Whr @Stefan Payne I think Electronics link would work fine if I can find the MB Connector to SATA. Then Use that to connect the 2.
  25. Hello, I'm upgrading my SSD and since my laptop containts the 56Whr battery instead of the 43Whr battery a 2.5" SSD/HDD cannot fit inside of the location it's meant for. I was wondering if there is an HDD to M.2 adaptor so I can still reuse the stock M.2 SSD that I will be replacing and fasten it in the HDD location with velcro or something. I would look for it myself but I have no idea what that pin cable would be called.
