  1. Hello, I watched the latest video regarding the Black Magic Ultimatte 12 4K and had to look it up. Not familiar at all with SDI. If someone were to try to hook this up on a camera w/HDMI. Would it be as simple as using one of Black Magic's Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 12G and it would work between the Camera w/HDMI connection and the BM Ultimatte 12 4K? Thanks :)
  2. In the video, Linus discussed that it did not have a padding by design. The 3 inserts are seamed together in a way that it protects the laptop as the bag is filled. By filled, what does this mean? Does it mean when the sleeved portions are filled or when the entire backpack is filled? I cannot fathom the requirement for the backpack to be filled to protect the laptop. So, by this method I can only assume that the bottom of each device will be touching/cramped. Are the 3 sleeves for the laptop holders of of equal bottom length (because that is how it sounds like when he says the way they are seamed together) or are they of different lengths are the bottom to prevent the device bottoms from clanging into each other? I've heard a mention that the laptop sleeve area is suspended from the ground so it does not actually touch the ground. Is this correct? Dropping my backpack to the floor holding the top handle is pretty much normal for me. So, about 1 foot off the ground. It has never been a problem with any backpack I've owned. Since this backpack has no padding. Is this likely to be a problem? Thank you
  3. Hi, yes it is a touchscreen display. So, essentially if it was lined it correctly (touchscreen and digitizer) I wouldn't be able to see these dot patterns? Therefore, this is a defective display essentially?
  4. Hi, there is an array/pattern of dots on the 4K OLED monitor screen that can faintly be seen on all colors. Easily seen on darker colors and covers the entire screen in a perfect pattern of dots. Here is a video on it. It is very hard to capture it but when I shine a light you can see what it is I'm seeing. But it only shines 1 vertical pattern at a time. In real life, I can see the entire array of dots.
  5. Hi, if anyone has a Galaxy Z Fold3 in the silver color I'd like to know your opinion. I want to get the Silver color, however, I have noticed that the bezel left of the screen is the same color as the selected color. I was wondering if when using the front screen, you are noticing any annoyances by the silver bezel, i.e. catching your attention from what's being displayed on screen. I have never used any screen that has been surrounded by a bezel other than black. Therefore, I do not know if this would be an annoyance.
  6. My ethernet was working last night. This morning it does not work. The green blinking light on both the router and the MB NIC are working when I plug in the ethernet cable. Device manager does NOT show the Intel I225 adaptor. Troubleshoot just tells me to plug in an ethernet cable. I have installed firmware and drivers and it still does not show up on the Device Manager and clearing CMOS. Is it dead?
  7. One of these fixed the problem since I did them both and it started working: 1) Uninstalled ethernet and refreshed through Device Manager and restart computer. 2) Restarted router through the ATT App. I unplugged and re-plugged the router multiple times while trying to figure out the problem and it still had this problem.
  8. ATT ATT supplied and also TP-Link Archer C5400. Both provide the same result. CAT6 100 or 200 Foot cable directly from router to PC. I should mention that I used this same cable before on my old internet provider and received 1gbps LAN transfers. So cable is working. 1.0gbps
  9. Hi, just upgraded to the 1Gbps internet plan. My PC is pretty far from my router so I only get 150mb/s. I ran an ethernet cable over to my PC hoping to achieve 1Gbps. However, I am only getting 180Mb DOWN and 7Mb UP. I have: 1. Disabled Wi-Fi 2. Tried multiple ethernet ports on the router including the one that says 1gbps. What could be the problem?
  10. Interesting, but that does make sense. My router reasoning was mentioned because I though you'd need internet connecting them even though I knew traffic wouldn't go through the router as 10Gb/s going through 1Gb/s back to 10Gb/s doesn't make sense. While on the topic of making things irrelevant. Would it work without the switch by connecting the PC's ethernet cable directly to the NAS to achieve 10Gb/s speed transfers?
  11. Can someone help me understand how 10Gb/s work? My understanding is that, for example: If I want to transfer files at 10Gb/s from my PC to my NAS. I have a Router with only 1Gb/s networking and use that 1Gb/s port to plug into a switch. That switch has to have at least 2x 10Gb/s port which I use to plug both the PC and the NAS into the switch's 2x 10Gb/s ports (assuming that both the PC and the NAS also have 10Gb/s capable networking hardware). Then I will achieve 10Gb/s between the PC/NAS?
  12. I can tell from the 36 and 16 that it is 3600Mhz at CL16. Which is why I said if 3600mhz is what you need then it is fine. I tried to give as much detail as possible rather than saying yes or no so you can have the information to make the decision yourself. Ultimately, it is up to you.
  13. No, there is not. As long as you are able to pick the Speed that you want then there is no downside. What I was talking about with lower capacity RAM being able to clock higher is for this reason. If you look at 4000Mhz and higher RAMs you will see 8GB sticks. However, 16GB sticks of DDR4 RAM can be found at 3600Mhz and lower. So if 3600Mhz and lower is something you are looking for then 16GB RAMs are fine for your use case.
  14. Thanks for chiming in. It needs it, but, that won't be a problem. The internal TB3 header is an Intel verification that is not required. This link shows that it can be fixed by shorting pins 3 and 5. https://egpu.io/forums/builds/thunderbolt-3-with-threadripper-on-a-asrock-x399-fatality-motherboard-help-needed/#post-59565
  15. Hi, I can answer these questions for you. Is really that much difference between 2 sticks of 16 GB or 4 sticks of 8GB? >>You just want to obtain dual channel or quad channel depending on your motherboard. There is no difference aside from being able to have a higher capacity. For example, if your mother has 4 RAM slots. Buying 2x16GB will allow you to fit in 2 more RAM slots if you ever need to expand later. I read that 2 sticks has better overclocking potential, but how much is that difference 5% or more ? >>The higher the RAM capacity the harder it is to overclock past its rated speed. Rated speed would be the speed advertised for the RAM. For example, Corsair Vengenace 3200Mhz 2x16. 3200Mhz is the rated speed. I would probably buy 2 sticks of 16 GB, but they are out of stock in every big eShop in my country. >>As stated in the first answer, it's nice to have available RAM slots in case you want to expand your capacity. But i found one eShop is restocking 2 x 8 GB sticks, should i take them or just wait till 2 x 16 GB will be restocked too. >>You can mix and match RAM capacities. However, the RAM speed will match the lowest rated RAM speed that you have. For example you have 2x 3200Mhz and 2x 2400Mhz. Your RAM speed will be at 2400Mhz or however high your 2400Mhz RAM can overclock too. This is because all of your RAM must be at the same speed.
  16. I'm going to install it in my desktop. I had to use my laptop to test the eGPU because my desktop does not have a TB3 port. Which was the point of this post. However, when testing, it did not use CPU. So the comparison is valid. It is not, heat is a problem too. I currently have 3 GPUs inside of my PC. Which lower down the clock speeds of the 3 GPUs spewing out heat. I'm using an x370, so my 3rd GPU is already running on PCIE 2.0 x4 (not 3.0). Which is the same as PCIE 3.0 x2. I already have the 3 GPUs and 1 eGPU. So, I would just need to buy 1x eGPU and this TB3 AIC. My cards drop down to 1400Mhz while in the eGPU it stays at 1950Mhz. All in all, TB3 is my better solution. Like I said time is more important to me. Which is why I asked here first. I don't have to have to return it if it only supports 1x TB3 device. Since if it does work for 2 devices I will switch over to an ITX case to account for the 2 extra eGPUs taking up space. My only question was whether or not the TB3 card will be able to work with 2x TB3 devices. When you answered yes... was that a guess?
  17. I understand your reasoning. However, renders using GPUs will stack and from my testing GEN3 x16 internal vs x4 external is only a 6% difference --- for my rendering workload. Whereas for gaming, its 33% performance difference. I'd rather have the performance than not. Though, I was unable to test it at x2 because my laptop is a TB3 x4 and not an x2 port. Even if the performance of x2 is lower. Using 2 GPUs in x2 will give more performance than 1 GPU in x4. Not any inclination of price to performance, obviously. Time is more important to me.
  18. https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GC-TITAN-RIDGE-rev-20#kf Taking a look at the Gigabyte Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 Add-in-Card. It has 1x DP, 2x TB3, and 2x MiniDP. What I want to do is use these TB3 for eGPU for rendering and not for gaming. So I do not incur as much of a performance penalty. I am wondering since there are 2 TB3 ports on here. Would I be able to plug in 2x TB3 eGPU with each eGPU using x2 lanes each or can I only plug in 1x TB3 device?
  19. IDK but it occurs on the latest Ryzen x570 MB and the latest Razer Blade 15". So it's the enclosure.
  20. I'm looking for an external enclosure that fully supports a Samsung 860 EVO 4TB SSD. I have 2 SABRENT Enclosures that keep corrupting my SSD from folder corruption to whole FS corruption. The below are the enclosures I have used. 1) https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Tool-free-Enclosure-Optimized-EC-UASP/dp/B00OJ3UJ2S - Corruption problem on 4TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD but no problem for my 2TB Micron SSD. 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NF6JQQ4 - Same problem as above 3) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FDTY299 - Did not support >2TB Capacity. Can anyone with experience link me to a better enclosure that supports a 4TB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SSD without any hitches.
  21. Hello, I'm looking at something very specific for what I want. I like my monitor farther from me than what an average desk can supply. So I am looking at this desk frame, it is not available ATM but that is why I am here with this question in the first place. Here is the link: https://drop.com/buy/drop-lift-2-sit-to-stand-desk#overview The width of the stand can reach as far as 73.6" and the supplied tabletop is 48" or 60" x 27.5" x 0.75". I want/will make a tabletop of 72" x 40" x 1". I am just afraid that with the extra 12.5" (45%) depth from 27.5" to 40" that the table will lean backwards when weight is added to the rear. A ~14lb arm mount, ~28lb monitor, ~50lb computer, and other accessories will be placed mostly towards the rear of the tabletop. I want to figure out if the table will support this from standard wood that you can find from Home Depot, etc. Please ensure that you understand what you are saying before giving an answer. Thank you for reading.
  22. I have an SSD connected to an external USB 3.0. When I close my laptop to make it go to sleep most of the time I do not unplug or turn off the external SSD. When I wake up the external SSD's case feels warm. Is this bad for the SSD or is it just simply fine and accumulating "Time on Hours" and draining laptop battery in the process.
  23. What is the resolution? If you are running 4K then this is around normal FPS for GTA5 on a 2080.
  24. Hi, since you stated 7th Gen i7 I will use the i7-7700HQ as a reference. Here is the link: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/97185/intel-core-i7-7700hq-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-80-ghz.html It states that the processor "Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type)" is "64 GB." When you click on the "?" it will reveal what this mean. Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) Max memory size refers to the maximum memory capacity supported by the processor. This means that the i7-7700HQ processor is capable of handling up to 64GB of RAM. You can mix and match any DDR4 SODIMM RAM for your laptop. However, speed will match the lowest RAM Speed and if you use 2 different RAM Sizes (i.e. 16GB + 8 GB) you will not get dual-channel. However, you stated that you wanted to do a 16G+16G configuration so you will gain dual-channel benefits.
  25. I was afraid of that. Was gonna get a used and cheap 300 Series board but can't really know if the BIOS on that board will be updated or not for the 1600AF.
