Thanks for finding a fan but I won't be replacing it, it's not big enough of an issue to warrant that. You're probably right about avoiding oil so I think I'll just try clean any dust that may be in there and look for a version of nvflash that will flash an uncertified bios for Fermi cards.

thanks for the help but what i am looking for is a way to reduce the noise of 1 of the 3 fans on the gpu, be it oil, dust cleanout or something of that nature. Fan curve will lower the noise of all of them yes but also increase temps.. edit: So it seems I am unable to drop the fan speed below 40% anyway (current idle speed) edit2: I'll give a bios mod a go

maybe I didn'y explain it clear enough but temperatures aren't an issue, just the noise of a single fan

So a week ago or so, one of the fans on my GTX570 triple fan design started making a little extra more noise than usual, it comes and goes but can irritate me as it becomes the most distinct fan in the system. I was thinking about pulling apart the card and putting a drop of wd-40/motor/chain oil in the offending fan to see if it helps. Is this recommended? any other remedies perhaps? cheers!

Going with the 1TB is safer and easier. No worries about raid failures and whatnot.

Ok wow. So I have solved the problem, it was system restore For whatever reason it explicitly turned itself back on when I know for a fact I disabled it. At some point yesterday it created a 43gb restore point. Thanks guys - thread solved

Hi guys so a couple of days ago I did a program and game cleanup which left me with around 30GB~ of free space on my C drive. Today I suddenly noticed that I now have 5GB~ of free space! The weird thing is, all of my files only take up 196GB or so. I have a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB. I am using Windows 10 preview build 10074, could that be related to the issue? Can anyone help me figure out what is going on here?? I've been Googling and haven't come across much of use Thanks.

It only happens to the internet connection and there's nothing in the log besides the usual requests and whatnot. Gotta sleep now mate. Will check back tomorrow -

Yes I have tried everything I can think of including those settings. Guest is always disabled. One of the main things that gets me is how the first router worked great for 2 weeks and then issues arose and the next routers pick up from the same place. -

Yeah 100% sure. Watched the guy in store give me a completely new box both times, we even had a quick chat about what was going on. (to no help). -

99% sure it's not the modem because that is what the NBN Fibre box does and when I connect directly to it, there are no issues. -

But all 3 of them in a row? Super terrible batch or defective product line that warrants a recall?
