  1. you can login with your windows live account, and the key will be "attached" to your account... on a new computer you can then login again and it will activate the license on the new computer you have... you can then log off from your live account... i just did this as i went from intel to amd.. and had to reactivate my re installment of win 10.. just found a link on google on how to do this... http://www.windowscentral.com/how-re-activate-windows-10-after-hardware-change
  2. This is because you are loggin into the computer with your "microsoft live" account... you should remove that and login with a local windows account instead... gotta love windows 10.... - Check this link: https://www.howtogeek.com/230543/how-to-revert-your-windows-10-account-to-a-local-one-after-the-windows-store-hijacks-it/
  3. you are here on linustechtips... the man himself have made multiple videos of step by step guides with build log videos he made... go watch them all and you will be a champion
  4. 918 USD.... Denmark, for founders ED... Once the AIB partners will launch their cards.. it will be around 1075-1100 USD...!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Okay.. back at it again with some ryzen news... yet again i was looking into ryzen overclocking videos.. when i came across this from amd's own site! https://community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2017/03/14/tips-for-building-a-better-amd-ryzen-system Basicly it's about how to optimize your build.. but also states some of the issues that will be fixed with patches down the road.. However the interesting part of this was the game optimization! The game tested was "F1" racing game and how correct optimization is important.. So the game creates a file explaining what hardware the computer has, cpu/threads and so on.. this gets sync via steam cloud and re-synced to another computer if you reinstall the game.. Now the issue is if you have installed this on a 4core/4t CPU in the first place.. the game on a ryzen build will not notice its a 8c/16t cpu!... but rather the old 4C/4T due to the resync gamefiles... If fixing the resync game files (etc deleting them) the game then thinks its a 16 phycical core cpu... However this can also be fixed.. as this is a 8C/16T cpu.. not a 16 core cpu Now manually editing the game file to correctly look at a 8C/16T CPU the game gains even more performance.. a wooping 35.53% more performance in 1080P gaming! From 98.5 fps to 133.5 FPS - Now this just shows how important game optimization is... F1 is not the only game saving files about hardware setup, alot of games do! So getting game optimization is VERY important! And just shows that the "1080p gaming" issues might not even be relevant when game developers fix their games!
  6. said you said... a server with lots of ram....
  7. let's just hope that stuff gets fixed.. its a matter of time now! - if this gets fixed in 6 months.. Ryzen will be forgotten.. however if this gets fixed in a few weeks.. new hype might be build on ryzen again.. just needs to get things ironed out... this includes windows, bios and game optimization...
  8. It's WAY to soon to tell if this is a ryzen issue... or some wierd windows bug interacting with ryzen... (windows issue and not CPU issue)..
  9. So as i was looking on youtube after some ryzen overclock, i found this video of a guy showing of a wierd windows bug/ryzen issue... - windows is being put to sleep, - wakes up the computer and now windows makes the computer overclock higher and produce higher benchmarks.. at least that whats shown.. some kind of bug/timer related to bios, windows, ryzen cpu is causing some wierd issues and results.. Updated video of the issue: with a bit of explanation... In the video see from 1:20 where he starts the timer and... then follow up and see how after "sleep mode" everything is messed up... Original video of the issue:
  10. and it it should be installed in the m.2 M key.. where it says "for pcie m2 ssd m key)
  11. is that adapter card NVME compatible?? SATA is not the same as NVME... i have just got myself a 960 evo.. with a Lycom DT-120 NVME m.2 adapter card (that works)... i think that could be that reason... if its not compatible withe NVME but its a SATA m.2 adapter card
  12. Already been stated by AMD its the same 3.6 - 4.0ghz(oc) just like the R7 series.. so no difference in clock speeds when R5 comes out... i dont know why people keep saying it will be higher when AMD already have officially showed the specs maybe IPC will be higher.. but not clock speeds
  13. I did not cherry pick any of the reviews.. i simply searched on google for amd ryzen new information less than an hour ago.. and i took some random reviews - But this is a nice big overview...
  14. I hope so.... It's a shame if ryzen is really having issues... but since some at least seems to be having awsome results i hope its fixable
  15. But still people are getting different results... can you explain that?? some reviews shows ryzen beating everything.. others having issues
  16. Oh okay... its intended for both.... but mainly gaming i would assume... But still the results are wierd... different people having massivly different results
  17. 5 year old CPU's beating the RYZEN... you think that is normal??? while other reviewers having no issues at all??
  18. if you take a closer look into some of the result.. it even MASSIVELY underperforms under intel's 6800K - while other reviewers having the uppersit results... very confusing...
  19. Okay so the first results are in from reviewers all over the world... mega thread of reviews can be found here: Mega thread And frankly i'm quite scared about the results... Either it's not as good as we thought or it's some other underlying issues... optimization from game developers maybe? even though that to me seems a bit strange.. Here are some of the "qoutes" from different sites Source: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/03/amd-ryzen-review/ Source: http://www.pcworld.com/article/3176191/computers/ryzen-review-amd-is-back.html Source: https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/245204-amds-ryzen-7-1800x-reviewed-zen-amazing-workstation-chip-1080p-gaming-achilles-heel Now i just took a couple and there will be ALOT more... we are also waiting for linus to come with the review... - Let's just hope he dont brick the 2nd MB again that he just got from asus.. lol! But i'm kinda worried a bit.... But what u guys think... is it optimization issues or is the ryzen hype quickly going to fade away again... let me know, i want to hear what u guys think
  20. So check out the clip Personally i dont think i want to take the risks... due to the pin's... but if you could make it have lower temps fairly easy.. maybe a delid kit for AMD comming ?? then MAYBE i would.. but just maybe.. What u guys think? btw.. the Chip/die looks pretty nice i think
  21. can the server even run with 1gbit ??? its a pretty old and slow server...
  22. depends on what the usage is... some things a 5mbit connection is overkill
