  1. Honestly, with that budget, your best bet would be to scour eBay for a good deal on an Overpowered 15+. Failing that look for a good deal on the Lenovo y530. I can't really recommend anything else. Those two machines are good purchases, things like the Nitro 5 and Omen not so much.
  2. The 17" Lenovo y740 is a decent choice, but I would also look at the Clevo PB70EF-G/PB71EF-G. It can be found under various other names as with all Clevos the chassis is used by numerous OEMs. In the states, the PB71EF-G is often sold under the SAGER NP8371 name, such as on GenTechPC. Likewise, the PB70EF variant can be found under the name PowerSpec 1720 at MicroCenter. There's a forum for this chassis on NotebookReview.
  3. It sounds like your power adapter's wattage is too low to charge your battery while it is under a heavy system load. The only solution to that is a higher wattage power adapter.
  4. Hmmm you won't get much in terms of sleek laptops around $1000. However, I think I have 2 solid choices for you. 1.) Walmart's OP Gaming Laptop 15+ This is a fantastic value, as Walmart is simply using a barebones laptop chassis, the Tongfang GK5CN6Z, which is sold by numerous boutique companies for much higher prices ($1400+ for equivalent specs). The only "gamer" bits about this laptop are the OP logo (which can be covered with a black decal) and the RGB lights, which can simply be turned off or made a neutral colour such as white. 2.) The Lenovo Legion y530 While not as fantastic of a value as Walmart's laptop, the y530 is a serviceable machine. You can currently get the same specs as Walmart's OP 15+ for not much more (~+$70) but with a slightly more muted stylization. For this competitive pricing use Lenovo's Barnes and Noble store. In terms of gaming, the cooling is not as good as the OP 15+, and the build quality is all plastic VS its all aluminum. I honestly would go for the OP 15+, but the y530 isn't the worst choice you could make. It will need more tweaking for cooling than the OP 15+ however.
  5. The chassis that Walmart uses is the Tongfang GK5CN6Z . And as you can see it's a very very well received chassis.
  6. I don't know if you've gotten your laptop yet or not, but your prayers might have been answered by Walmart.
  7. Fantastic review mate, well done. I just ordered one for myself with these specs. I'll let you know how it performs and also if I got the same screen or not.
  8. As someone who uses both my iPad Mini and laptop every day, for hours on end; here's what I use them both for: Laptop: Typing: documents, forum responses, anything actually Browsing the Internet Studying Doing research: ranging from science to politics to mods for video games Playing games: mostly Overwatch nowadays Consuming media: usually Youtube or Twitch Organizing and storing digital documents iPad Mini Consuming media: mostly Youtube, only occasionally Twitch as the app has issues Reading Ebooks Occasionally playing a game or browsing the web My actual work, which involves lots of open tabs/windows and documents is only really feasible on a computer. In fact, I usually use an external monitor as well. Not to mention typing on an iPad screen just isn't comfortable, and Bluetooth keyboard cases are only slightly better. If I were to use a larger, external Bluetooth keyboard instead of a case, I might as well be using my laptop. Suffice to say I don't do any work on my iPad. Heck, even general web browsing is better on my laptop. I can more easily go between tabs and with 16GB of RAM, I can keep many more tabs open in memory as opposed to the iPad with its 1GB of RAM. I mentioned video game mods because even something as simple as downloading a mod from Dropbox and uploading it to the Nexus is more complicated on an iPad. Apple's iOS file management leaves a lot to be desired. The only thing I really use my iPad for is a Youtube machine. Youtube pretty much acts as my TV so I just have it playing on my iPad in the background as I half listen to it throughout the day. When It's also pretty convenient to be able to just pick up my iPad and grab something to eat, brush my teeth, lay in bed, or whatever and watch some videos. Technically my phone could serve that purpose to but I'd rather save its battery, and the screen is just too small for comfortable viewing. I do actually use my iPad for another main purpose. When I get the chance to read a book, I usually binge it and read the whole thing in a sitting or a few. While I vastly prefer physical, hardcover books sometimes it's not really convenient to carry one around, so I use my iPad as an eBook reader. It's the next best choice as my phone is again too small and my laptop to too cumbersome to carry around and read something. So, all in all, I use my laptop for pretty much everything and my iPad is reserved for Youtube and whatever books I can't read in hardcover form.
  9. Hmm have you ever played Diablo? I know it's not an Action-Adventure game but whenever someone asks about F2P games the first thing that comes to mind is Path of Exile. As hinted it's very similar to Diablo II, but if you're not familiar with Diablo I'd still recommend you at least try it out.
  10. No, it's not. The Special Edition (SE) was only offered to people who owned the original Skyrim and all of its DLC prior to the release of SE. As for today if you want both original Skyrim and SE you'll be paying for both separately. EDIT: Nevermind, I just saw your second post lol
  11. What genre of games do you like? What are some of your favorite games?
  12. The world's most popular video game shooter isn't on Nintendo's new console — the game's director explains why.
  13. That's incredibly subjective, but most of the games I've listed are rather well acclaimed.
  14. Lol wut? I'm not sure if you're aware but there are, at the very least, dozens of 3D DS games. Some standouts include Metroid Prime Hunters, Dementium the Ward, Eragon, Super Mario 64 DS, Kingdom Hearts 358/2, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, and Resident Evil DS.
