I bought a USB expansion card for my system and I tried to install it. I couldn't get the card to work, however, now my headphone jack on my computer is not working anymore. The HD audi connector is right where the PCIe port is. I really don't want to think that I have blown something on my motherboard. Thanks for your advice.

Hey all, I was on a Zoom call the other day and the program stopped responding because my camera stopped working. As I force quit the app, the light on the camera was still on despite no programes using it. I tried to open up the windows camera app, however all i got was a black screen with the red light from the camera on. Whenever I disconnect and reconnect the camera, the issue goes away. the same if i uninstall and then reinstall the drivers. Is this a hardware problem or is this an issue with Windows? The camera by the way is something I just got on amazon. Thank you for your help

New PC Build for streaming and music production
kingkvndrick replied to kingkvndrick's topic in New Builds and Planning
Hi guys, thank you for all your responses. The main thing I am understanding here is that my CPU and RAM need to be different. I like @boggy77s build. Its still kind of in the budget that I am working with, and I may find a slightly less powerful graphics card and spend that saved money on peripherals. Thank you guys all so much for your help, I really appreciate it. All the best guys -
Budget (including currency): €1000 - €1500 Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming games (Minecraft, Forza Horizon 4), music production (FL Studio) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi All, its been a while since i have been on these forums. My mate wants to build a new computer for around €1k-1.5k (without peripherals) and I have come up with a build on PC Partpicker. He is new to gaming and PCs in General, however he would like to get a powerful system to run for a long time. The question is, for this amount of money, does it make sense to go for a 1080p build or a 1440p build? I know that the budget is pretty high, but the more he spends on the build, the less he can spend on peripherals. For about 1.5k, is it possible to build a 1080P machine that can run high - ultra on pretty high settings at a high framerate? The other thing to keep in mind is the graphics card. I am aware that there is some sort of GPU shortage now, however there is not enough time to wait for prices to come down. For the build I have made, I have selected an RTX 3070. They are about 700-900 euros here in Germany, which I know is super expensive. Are there any maybe cheaper alternatives that deliver high quality 1080p gaming for a lesser price? Does it make sense to maybe buy the 2000 series generation of cards? Please let me know your thoughts on the build. Thank you!

Hi All, I have an old PC which is just sitting around in my house not doing anything and I do not know what to do with it. here are the specs: intel core i3 4160 8gb ddr3 ram Asrock Z97 Anniversary motherboard 250GB HDD windows 10 home activated. sharkoon case Being the broke uni student I am, I of course wanted to sell it to try and get some money. I put the computer up for sale for 100 bucks. No one however was interested. I presume it’s the sharkoon case with all the blue leds lol. long story short, I need to shift this PC, however I presume I need to change something to the build. I don’t wanna spend too much as I have already invested about 80 bucks on parts. What do you guys think I could do to this PC to make it more appealing? I wouldn’t wanna spend more than 50 bucks on parts. I just wanna get rid of this thing

Hey guys, So I am the only user on my computer, and when I sign out, I am presented with the Other User screen, where you have to type in your name and password. This is really annoying, as I do not want to be typing in my name and password everytime I log into my computer. Is there a way I can get rid of this? Thank you

Does the generation of RAM impact performance?
kingkvndrick replied to kingkvndrick's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
The CPUs I am looking at are like a Core i5 4690 and a Core i5 7600 -
Cool will look into that

Looking to get a new gaming mouse for under $50, I am the type that likes to have my whole hand wrap around the mouse (i.e. my palm has to touch it) I want to use it for gaming and productivity (CS:GO, PUBG, Office, etc) RGB is not necessary, but it would be a nice addition, Thanks for your help.
