  1. Last year I purchased an Akko 3098B Ocean Star keyboard and a Glorious Model D- mouse...both are wireless using USB dongles. They seemed to work fine for a while, but now I have interference issues... I had both of their USB dongles on the same USB 3.0 hub with no problems until the past couple of months. I've tried moving one of the dongles to another USB 3.0 hub on the other side of the desk and then also onto the desktop PC, but that didn't change anything. I've come to find that the interference is in their proximity to each other on the desk...after moving them further apart, they work. This is fine while gaming, but for normal typing and other tasks where I need the kb centered and the mouse close, this is no good... Anyone have this issue? Anyone have a suggestion/solution I can try? Thanks for any help!
  2. How about the Lian Li Lancool III? I have the non-ARGB version of the 420mm Liquid Freezer II...it will fit up top, but not in the front. It is very quiet, no rattles, and that case has a USB-C port on the front panel
  3. I've also built in both cases, the 4000D for my son and I use the Lancool III, and both are great cases. If you don't fill up the inside of the Lancool III with components, there will be a lot more empty space, compared with the 4000D...it might not be as pleasing to the eye seeing the emptiness. Building within the Lancool III is way easier because of the case features, flexibility, and the extra empty space to work with. Building within the 4000D is fine and not any more difficult than other cases.
  4. Lian Li Lancool III or save money with last-gen's Lancool II Mesh. Neither fit your $30 budget, so you should just save up to get one of the cases mentioned...
  5. You might want to get the Flow version of the NZXT H510 case for better airflow and thermals, especially since you are air cooling that 12600k. It is a big jump in price, though...perhaps another airflow-focused case that's closer in price to the H510?
  6. The Lian Li Lancool III has great airflow, plenty of space to work with, and comes with 4 140mm fans.
  7. I want to hold the hoses from my AIO up against the fans (see pics) so they're out of the way of my GPU backplate. Does anyone have any suggestions that will look clean? I've tried tying the hoses with a Velcro strap and placing a Velcro strip to affix to, but it didn't hold...
  8. The Lancool III comes with a dust filter at the bottom of the case for the PSU, but the front and top grills have no additional filters behind them.
  9. Intel i7-12700K Asus Prime Z690-A motherboard 2 x 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-4800 CL40 Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420mm AIO EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming Lian Li Lancool III case Corsair RM850 PSU Samsung 980 Pro 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SATA SSD Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD The Lancool III case was fantastic to build in, with plenty of room to work in, flexibility for future upgrades, and easy cable management. I knew from Gamer Nexus' review of the case that it was possible for a 420mm radiator to fit up top, with some caveats, so I wanted to try it instead of the 360 that GN recommended. I had to ditch the rear exhaust fan; it has been the first build I've done that didn't have one, so it looks weird not having it. The 420mm rad wouldn't fit with the front fan bracket in its stock orientation, but after flipping it around, I had the room to make the 420 fit. The case is quiet (compared to my previous build in an NZXT Phantom 240), but it is pretty heavy!
  10. Update: I installed the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 AIO up top...like Gamers Nexus mentioned in their review, the rear exhaust fan has to come out and there's no room for it. Also, in the case's stock front fan bracket configuration from the factory, the 420 will not fit. It won't let the fan bracket completely close. I took the bracket out, turned it around, and reinstalled it, and that let the radiator fit :). Just don't forget to route and plug in the motherboard's EPS power cables before installing the radiator...
  11. Just watched GN's review on the Lancool III...they mention 420mm radiators will fit up top, with some caveats. Installing a 420 might make the top fan bracket non-removable and eliminate use of the rear 140mm exhaust fan (it's at the 8-minute mark of the review). GN recommended no larger than a 360mm radiator...I ordered the case and a 420mm AIO before the review came out; we'll see if I can make it all fit!
  12. I'm hoping to build a new desktop later this year, but I don't know what to do with my current system (Intel i7-6800K, GTX 1070, 32GB RAM, Asus X99-E mobo). I don't stream and don't know of anyone else who needs a desktop PC. I've had this PC for over 5 years and would like to still keep it if I can find a purpose for it... What do you do with your old systems? Any ideas for repurposing?
  13. Velocifire has wireless keyboards that have backlighting and mechanical switches. I use a Velocifire VM02WS (which is their full-sized model) and its been great. When I game I will still plug it in, but most of the time I use in in wireless mode (which is 2.4GHz, not Bluetooth). Velocifire has the TKL02WS that you might want to check out...
  14. Where will this PC be located? If this will be somewhere in the main worship area, one consideration is how loud the fan noise might be during the preaching... I second Moonzy's recommendation, and with a system this nice, I would also make sure it is secure so that no one could open the system and grab parts or just take the whole PC
  15. Do you think it makes sense to upgrade from an i7-6800K to the i5-11400F? I currently have a 6800K/GTX 1070 system, which I use for video editing and light gaming (Warzone). If I build a system around the 11400F, I would carry over the 1070 (because I don't really have another choice). I see a big difference in the Cinebench CPU scores between the 6800K and 11400F, so I expect some decent improvement in video editing performance, but are there any reasons why this build doesn't make sense?
  16. Tell me if it makes sense to upgrade from a i7-6800K to the i5-11400F... I have a 6800K/GTX 1070 system, which I use for video editing and light gaming. While I see a big difference between their Cinebench scores, I would just transfer the 1070 over to a new system, for now...
  17. Does a full-sized S Pen from a Galaxy Tab work on a Note phone? I have a Note 9 and like the S Pen that it has, but being able to use a full-sized S Pen for drawing might be easier to sketch with and be cheaper than buying another device...
  18. Thank you all for the feedback...nice to bounce ideas off others. Maybe it's impatience that has me thinking of this upgrade, but I realize it doesn't make sense to upgrade to this...
  19. So my nearly 4-year-old system is running fine and I have no problems with it (i7 6800k, 32gb RAM, GTX 1070). I use it for video editing and a little gaming. I won't be able to build a new system for at least another year, but I plan to save up for about a $2k build. I have an opportunity to get a 6950X for about $300 soon, though...what do you all think?
  20. I am working on a Surface Pro 3 screen replacement for my family, and have removed the busted factory screen/digitizer. They don't know if the Surface is even functional, so I don't want to order a new screen to find out something else is busted. Does anyone know if a functional Surface Pro 3 would boot up and display to an external monitor without its screen connected? My thought was to get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable and connect it to an external monitor and see if it will even boot before I order a replacement screen...thank you in advance!
  21. Thanks for all the suggestions! I have line of sight to the building but the wireless bridges I've looked at were expensive...I will check out the TP-Link CPE220
  22. Hi everyone! I have an idea about getting internet to my mother-in-law's house on our property that I'd like feedback on. My plan right now is to run Cat6 outdoor ethernet cable from the router in my house (Asus RT-AC86U), through and down an exterior wall, through PCV buried in a shallow trench that runs to her house. It will then go up the wall of her house into where her home office room will be. The total length of the cable run is about 65 feet from my router to where I plan to put the ethernet jack in her office wall. Does this sound like a good plan? Any other suggestions for doing something like this? The other part to this I haven't figured out yet is getting wifi throughout the rest of her house...is this as simple as connecting another router to her end of the ethernet run? Any help would be appreciated!
  23. After exchanging mine, I am patiently waiting for the new ones...I had mine for a week and loved it. Before the CPSC got involved, Verizon told me realistically it could be closer to the end of the month that the new ones would arrive.
  24. Looking for recommendations for a good, free media converter; I want something for converting 4K video clips to HD. Thank you in advance!
