  1. Yo so I've been running on an old chair from  staples I got for like.. £125? it's lasted about 2 years surprisingly, but you can literally see indents from the springs or something from where the cushioned has been flattened.
To get basis out the way, I'm 5'6, around 173 lbs give or take, and am looking for a chair that can recline, has lumbar support, and has arms that can move in 4 directions, and I have about £500 to spend I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

I'm also a fidget who likes to change sitting positions so any that too constricting are a no go for me, the Aeron for example has plastic wings on the seat that'd be annoying for me when I go crosslegged

I also do not have access to any place to try these types of chairs before I buy them.

I've found a few intriguing office chairs like the Humanscale Freedom chair, and the Herman Miller embody (both of which seem to be in my budget refurbished) but the first doesn't fit my arm adjustment need and neither seems to great in terms of reclining?

Whilst I typically don't buy gaming chairs the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 seems like it fits my needs, plus from what I heard it has a fairly firm seat which to me sounds nice, I've heard seemingly good things about it, and as far as gaming chair goes it doesn't have way too pronounced wings it seems, but it is still a gaming chair so I'm uncertain, does anyone here have personal experience with this chair?

I've also seen the Ergochair Recline, and Pro but i've not heard favorable things about the build quality?

Finding the right chair (especially when you cant try them) is alot harder than expected, sorry for the lengthy post and thank you for any help/input!

Do you have a friend that could lend you their GPU to try? I think that's the easiest solution now since you've tried everything else related to the GPU with drivers etc. Because if you try another GPU and everything works fine you will either know it's the GPU or you'll know that it's not.

Could ask my friend who's in the same accommodation as me, but it'd be inconvenient asf for him, plus my setup would probs be a major bottleneck.

  3. I've been having this issue for ages and I cannot for the life of me figure what's causing it.

I was just playing cold war and this happened

    https://streamable.com/kx27st

This same thing has happened in a myriad of games, sometimes different graphical issues but this static-like one is the most common.

    my temps at the time

    68fyKqD.png

Then usually a while after that happens, my screen goes black, montors lose connection for a while, game crashes, and the monitors boot back up, so I'm assuming the GPU driver crashes? but I'm completely uncertain, and it still doesn't explain that weird static.

    What i've tried

Reinstalling drivers old and new many times using DDU Reinstalling other driver Reinstalling Windows Installing AMD drivers with radeon catalyst thing. Reseating my GPU, and changing my CPU fan.

I'm super uncertain as to what could be causing this so any help is appreciated.

    Sepecs

    RX 580 XTR

    I5 4690K

    16GB Ram

    650 W PSU

I'm guessing it's my GPU or PSU but I have no clue.

  4. Hi there, so I was just updating my tablet driver and uninstaling one from a different brand, and now all of a sudden after restarting literally none of my audio devices are showing up and it believes they just don't exist, not even in disconnected devices.

    What i've done:

I've messed about in device manager, removing and reinstalling, disabling, and updating relevant devices.

Ran audio troubleshooter which SAID it changed something and wanted me to restart my pc, and it did literally nothing.

Ran IoBit driver booster out of desperation (uinstalled after), which did nothing.

Manually uninstalled and reinstalled audio driver off of mobo website, which did nothing.

Tried to do a system restore point which failed in the process. Am gonna try again after this post.

Only thing I haven't done is reformat my pc.

I have literally no clue what's going on, and it's annoying as hell this is happening the day before I move for Uni

if anyone has any suggestions, they'd be appreciated.

They aren't all bad at that price point, you just need to know where to look for

On Alibaba there are thousands of good chairs with a generic mesh designs (or better Knock offs)

    https://app.alibaba.com/dynamiclink?touchId=60784263461&type=product&schema=enalibaba%3A%2F%2Fdetail%3Fid%3D60784263461%26ck%3Dshare_detail&ck=share_detail&shareScene=buyer

They also do usually accept sample orders (1 item), and they also provide warranty

Some part of me questions whether buying a chair off alibaba would be better than the ones I saw on amazon tbh.
Tho tbf alibaba has never crossed my mind when buying online.

And shipping a chair from China would probably be pretty insane postage price wise.

Better than replacing a shitty 160 chair every couple years.

Also you can get them for a bout half that.

Yeah I can see em' for like £300 or so on ebay.  But I can't really spare that much right now sadly.

Plus alot of these ebay listing are collection in person, most pretty far so that's a bust anyway

Herman Miller Aeron. They are build like tanks and last forever. Like mine is literally 19 years old and in near perfect condition. Also super comfortable and have proper ergonomics.

Haha, quite out of my price range at £1000.

  8. Yo, need a new chair. Been dealing with this one killing my back for ages now, not to mention I'm moving soon into a Uni dorm for game design, and the dorm chair looks just as back breaking.

My budget is about £160 or so, the GTOmega Pro looks pretty good, not sure about the wing-type stuff at the side though?

This one looks pretty great but it has alot of bad reviews, as much as it does good reviews.

Just to say, alot of the issues i've had with my previous (cheaper/cheap-ish) chairs, include them literally falling apart, the back coming loose, and the height pipe thing sinking.

    Thanks for any help!

  9. Yo! bought the 24G2U off of OCUK  two days ago before it quickly went out of stock. First time with a 144hz monitor, super bright and colors overall look very nice.

BUT there is one small problem
it seems to get a little darker towards the sides of the monitor? I'm unsure if this is just improper viewing angle, as It dissapears when i move my head to compensate, but then appears on the other side.

So unsure if it's improper viewing angle, shadows from myself, or soemthing I should RMA over?

I can live with it tbf, i don't notice it when playing games and watching stuff, but it's still there.

    Thanks for any help!

If I´m not wrong the Viewsonic xg2405 has the same panel as the AOC is easier to find it in stock. It is the one I´ve got and I´m pretty happy with it.

Sadly out of stock at OCUK

and for some reason any place it's in stock it's like upwards of £250? really weird.

Thank you for the suggestion though.

  11. Yo, looking for a monitor to upgrade to.

    Needs to be

    24"
    Have Freesync
    144hz
    1080p
    IPS
    £180-£190

I got a few I'm interested in that fit the bill, are also height adjustable

AOC 24G2U  Has pretty great reviews online, but it's super limited in stock.

    Acer Nitro XV240YP

Seems like it'd be good? but it also has literally no reviews online??? Really weird..

    Thank you for any help!

  12. Yo! Thinking of getting a new display. I have my drawing tablet which is IPS, and only 60hz with pretty bad response time and stand for gaming  (obvs fine for drawing)

Actually need something better for gaming now.

So are there many good 144 hz 24 inch monitors about? Preferablly around £170

I'd prefer they have pretty good color too, but idk too much about monitors to be frank

I can use my tablet as my second monitor for color, although I think it might be on its last legs.

So far the main one interesting me is the BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P

it seems to have everything i'd want , a 24 inch display (only tried out recently and now i need one for myself, my tablet 21 inches and those few inches make such a big difference) a hdmi and display port, a very good adjustable stand, and seemingly a good display.

I'd like to hear about more options or experience with that monitor though before taking the plunge.

    Thanks!

my game crash after 1 minute and i don't now why i try every method then i look at this and i opened event viewer and i found this error and i don't know what it's mean or how to fix it can you help me
    svchost (10264,R,98) TILEREPOSITORYS-1–5–18: Error -1023 (0xfffffc01) occurred while opening logfile C:\WINDOWS\syswow64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log.

Is it only the game crashing, or does more happen? like your monitors going black, or freezing up or something?

it looks good. i would go with the corsair one as my setup is all corsair. it's whatever you want. any brand you recognize should have good enough mousepads

Alrighty then. HyperX also seems to have a good mousepad for £18.

  15. 6 minutes ago, piratemonkey said:

you can use paper. i'm only half joking too. corsair has an extended pad for about 25 pounds. the grease or whatever is probably normal depending on what your mousepad is made of now

It's some sort of cloth I think. Kinda hard to tell and they don't list the materials annoyingly.

Also I see. THere's also the goliathus speed for £20? idk if that's any good.

And it might be grease although it's within minimal use it happened. Is there another type of mousepad that can avoid that type of friction creating issue?

  16. Yoo so, I don't really wanna spend above £20 max (preferablly lower) on a mousepad

My current VIctsing extended seems fine? but sometimes it's a little frictiony I think? not sure if that's humidity or something?
Plus when I wipe my finger on it, some very small, shiny glittery type dirt or something comes up on my finger, especially under a torch and that doesn't sound normal for a mousepad.

Any suggestions? I kind of need or want another extended one to put my keyboard on, especially with my low sensitivity

Thanks! I've been posting a lot of questions here lately, sorry.

The G403 Prodigy is underrated imo.  Functionally it's just as good as anything you'd pay $100+ for, while being only $40 (CAD... maybe less in USD).  I believe it has a very similar if not identical shape to what you're coming from as well.

    That's like £72 where I am.

Also ended up ordering the Viper Mini, realising i like lightweight smaller mice after going back to my rival 100, pretty excited.

lol, I wish if only for spectator entertainment value. Seeing the frustration would be pure schadenfreude 😂🤣

Ok, in all seriousness the Logitech G305 is probably one of the best values in high-quality high-performing gaming mice for the price. But I still stand behind my assertion that the micro switches will have about the same lifespan as any other average mouse. But at least you'll be gaming with a great choice IMHO.

God I know, it'd be amazing to watch.

I've heard a lot of good things about that mouse, and it's only £10 above my refund so I could probs get it. Even if I am a little like, mad with Logitech since my switch malfunctioned after 5 months.

Tho i'm still pretty convinced by the CM M710 ngl. It's wired which still isn't a huge issue, exactly my refund and after going back to my smaller lightweight mouse, the rival 100, I feel it'd suit me pretty well tbh.

Only time can tell for now.

Micro Center special? Can get Inland mice real cheap for a few bucks. But if you want a cheap mouse with a name behind it, Try Amazon Basics

How long till we see a large esports team running exclusively amazon basics mice?

Fr tho, I'm sure those types are good for general use, and hell maybe even rpgs and mobas.

for an epic occasional fps gamer like myself, they probs wouldn't fair too well.

tho ofc i haven't used or tried them so i'm going off assumption

I've owned and used both expensive and cheap Chinese no-name brand mice. In terms of reliability, about the same. Unless the quality of Omron switches have cheapened, or that the knock-offs are now just as good, I'm not sure there's really a mouse equivalent of a mechanical keyboard out there in therms of MTBF rate.

And yes, the auto double-click or drag and auto-drop is a sign of a closed switch losing internal contact. Hence, failing switch. I've tried electrical contact cleaner and it didn't help.

    China number 1?

Yeah i never owned a wireless mouse so I'm not sure about any of them. If you wanted wireless though I guess grab the best one within your budget.

I do, but I'm gonna just go with what ever I find for now.

I've actually found a good looking one that's exactly my refund money though, the CM MM710 for £35

Same lightweight Model O/D type design too. Pretty good reviews. So I think that might end up being the choice?

  22. 54 minutes ago, ChaosCGTV said:

Okay well here is another one Corsair Ironclaw with RGB wireless and wired versions. The wireless I think is around 70 though.

As far as razer I'd just get the one you like and in price range with the things you want. DPI, button, click, grip type, lighting. Like all mice I suppose. You can also check ebay thats where I got my lancehead like I said 20 USD, brand new was quite the steal. 😁

Yeah the lancehead is defo cheaper on Ebay haha, not seeing steals like yours, but definitely considerable deals.

I even found the wireless version (used) for about £40.

I don't see many good reviews regarding the wireless one tho, haha.

I haven't use logitech or steelseries but I here there nice as well.

Maybe go for them since you used them before. Unless you're going for something new then I go with one of the ones you were looking at. I like Razer but some are pricey, corsair is also nice. My friend has the nightsword which comes with weights which is really nice and rubber palm grip which I really like.

Since what I assume was the switch for my left click on my G603 got messed after only 5 months I kinda wanna step away from logitech rn to an extent.

And yeah, Razer seems nice but alot of the newer mice after the Deathadder Elite and Naga seem pretty pricey.

Nightsword seems interesting , although £70 is a bit steep. Since my refund is £34 I'm probs looking more into the £50-£60 range I think.
