  1. Installed linux mint today and configured it to run at the same resolution I was running my windows on via cvt 1366 768 xrandr --newmode "1368x768_60.00" 85.25 1368 1440 1576 1784 768 771 781 798 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode VGA-1 "1368x768_60.00"and then manually selecting the resolution and then manually selecting the resolution from settings. My problems are:- - Why does 1366 become 1368? - When I apply this resolution, the display goes a bit offscreen both on the right side and top. I've tried multiple linux distros (ubuntu, popos, manjaro - before settling on mint) and all of them have the same issue. The software is updated to the latest. Monitor auto adjustment doesn't work since my monitor's buttons don't work but this shouldn't be the issue as everything worked perfectly on windows without any adjustment. This resolution was working perfectly on windows and it's the max of the monitor as well. I'm attaching an imgur upload incase ya'll don't understand what I'm rambling about: https://imgur.com/gallery/r2xh2gX
  2. I'm running windows 10 x64 on a probook 4530s. I know this device has bluetooth, specs say it does plus it has drivers for it as well. but apparently windows says there's no bluetooth on it. when i install bluetooth drivers made for windows 8.1 x64 (as i have done for every other hardware on this device) it says that "the device is not present". what do I do? I really need bluetooth
  3. I was looking for a secondary screen that i could use for my laptop that is portable and doesn't suck much power (maybe even work off of usb) and uses the hdmi port. Since amazon doesnt ship here, I'd appreciate if the option's from aliexpress (alike) and under 60USD
  4. Okay so I bought a fx 3800 recently a backup gpu for my main pc with an asrock x58 extreme 3. when i inserted the card in the pc wouldn't even post. I tried multiple pcie slots, no post. I inserted my r9 270x back in and it was working fine. Then i took out an old dell core 2 duo pc and inserted the card in that. it's working perfectly fine. what could be the problem? aren't pcie graphics cards supposed to be universally compatible?
  5. i dont maintain system restore points. and besides i popped the same boot ssd into a different computer and it's working fine. rules out software problems seems likes the jack's messed up but the question is how
  6. I have the asrock x58 extreme 3 mobo and thermaltake versa n25 case. everything was working fine until yesterday when i found out that my steelseries 7h headphones aren't working. I tried them on a different device and yes they are working and I tried different headphones on the computer and they are still not working. seems to be a jack issue but how come it happened overnight. also i have the case's audio connectors properly connected to the mobo but the front jacks aren't working either for some reason(though i don't know if they ever did before, never tried)
  7. yeah im sure about that. did take it out and reinsert it too
  8. yeah thing is after 10 reboots or so it does manage to work for like and hour but okay i get you
  9. no hopes now? no resale value either? anything i could do just to squeeze the next couple of months out of it
  10. guys please check and respond to this
  11. follow up post to: okay so my gpu has started to fail now. it gives weird lines during boot and the computer just stops doing anything 5 mins after boot by showing an image like the one attached with black lines and any color background (cameras pretty shit so couldnt show it clearer) and also shows black boxes randomly on screen before crashing. will reapplying thermal paste fix it or is it a goner? xfx r9 270x 2gb btw
  12. alright then will try!
