  1. OK, so if I use the 3840x2160 on the current settings as suggested by NVidia the game runs terribly. It's choppy and slow. However, if I dial back the resolution setting just a bit it looks amazing. Could this be an issue with this monitor I have or maybe just a single card is a tad under powered? And if it's the single card, going back to my original question, could OC'ing this card make a difference in how the game plays?
  2. If I set the game to 60hz vs 30hz it runs super choppy if I'm playing at max rez on my 4k monitor. If I turn down the screen settings a bit then I can run at 60hz. Also, I think this is an issue with the CTL x2800 too but I'm not entirely sure.
  3. So my question is this: these are the temps that I am currently averaging when playing GTAV on as highest a settings as I can run before the game starts to experience any visual issues. I am playing on a 4k monitor and at the highest resolution settings. With that said is OC'ing the video card worth doing? If I do OC the video card can I expect any real performance gains inside of games? How does OC'ing impact temps? I do have to run the game at 30hz because at 60hz with a single GPU on max screen setting its ugly choppy. Lastly, are these normal temps for this card under load? As always, thank you guys for your help and input, love this community.
  4. As I said I want to do nic teaming so I still need a second card. The MCSA/MCSE goes into some depth with Hyper-V and Networking so having a firm grasp on nic teaming and failover is critical. I will look into this as a possible solution for the nic card on the mother board so thank you for that, I appreciate it.
  5. I would recommend going to Pluarlsight, Microsoft Virtual Academy, or EdX and finding some courses. In my experience Pluralsight is one of the best course providers. Good luck and happy learning!
  6. This mother board's nic card isn't supported by Windows Server 2012 R2 and I cannot say how annoying that is. With that said I am looking for a nic card that'll work with this motherboard and is less than 100 bucks and is compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2. I'm working on my MCSA and really need to be able to setup a lab at home. So I'll be putting two of these in the computer that I'm using for nic-teaming. Thank you!
  7. When I got home from work and sat down to my computer... lol.. it's cold in here.
  8. If they would fix the problem with the eff'in icons moving all over the place every time the monitor power cycles that would be great. The random moving of icons in Windows 10 is so annoying it makes me not want to use the OS at all.
  9. Here is a copy of my CV. It should give you some general ideas on how to structure your CV as you being to move from one career into another. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be more than happy to answer them. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-woT7L8qCGZrK-_03HygVp0jDaE7l_VAHHDaRvwQLqI/edit?usp=sharing
  10. If anyone is currently using this piece of software and has used the ability to segment VRAM from video, what if any impacts have you had outside of the VM? Have you played any games or do anything that's graphically intensive? I currently use VMWare ver 10 and am thinking of upgrading but not sure if I should wait until the next iteration to ensure stability with this piece of functionality.

  12. I have a customized firewall built on top of linux; I use Windows Defender as a local desk top anti-virus app; any link or email which I am not sure of I open a VM using VMWare workstation and check inside of the VM; I also turn off all unnecessary ports and for certain apps I reassign ports to non-standard ports.
  13. Hahaha... My brothers and I used to use CompuServe on a 1200 baud modem, that'll really date me.
  14. 25 years ago this December the World Wide Web launched. We sure have come a long way since the days of 52k modems, Netscape, and AltaVista to connect to, browse, and search. What great things do you suppose we'll see in the next 25?
