Thats the next upgrade, right now they're at this lol

Either way, I'm not even that disappointed in a cheap router, but you can still have decent security with crap routers. This is full on 10 year old son of the manager needed a job

I haven't used nox, assuming it just runs a typical IG app though, you can look in the filesystem for you pictures and if the windows file system isn't accessible then when you're in windows look for the nox/ig folders/drives and move the desired picture from the windows location to there.

We don't know what you consider loud nor the age/make of the hdd. An older toshiba may sounds like a 747 and be fine but a year old WD black should be fairly quiet.

They pissed off several tech giants, that is a war no government could fight. Hell, all MS has to do is revoke windows keys, support, and services to the government and the daily operations would crawl to a hold.

Are you sure its not a signal issue?
you may try setting it to automatic ipv4 and disable ipv6 or set up your network/router to use static dchp and manually set the ipv4(subnet, ip, gateway, etc). I had a similar issue with my toshiba laptop.
there are a bunch of video how tos on this.

I use autodesk inventor, it works prettywell for things like this. Google sketchup is an option but its satan to me. Other than that you can try solidworks or just search for CAD programs with free trials or versions.

It varies by person, I've toyed with inventor for six years so I vote for it, but you might just google "best 3d cad for beginners" or whatever. Some people swear by sketch up and its easy to start on, but to accurately model complex things I find it frustrating.
Autodesk inventor has a free 30 trail and a 3 year student option that they dont even bother verifying, but it takes abit to install.

RedWulf reacted to Donut417 in Running new Coax Cable, Need Help
You could. Keep in mind that if this is going to be hooked up to your main coax network, you will also need a premises filter on your main line coming in from your cable company. This is to stop your Moca network from escaping. You need to make sure your splitters are bi directional and make sure you do not have too many in line. Moca 2.0 offers speeds up to 800Mbps, however in practice you get about 400Mbps. This is due to the fact Moca is half duplex. If wireless isnt doing you justice then I feel this would, also consider the fact Coax was developed to carry data. Power lines were not.

other than that yeah, just clean up the thermal paste if you plan to use the cooler and probably need to reset your bios, then just do a driver update and system clean as good practice

Most live OSs offer install options once inside the OS, if you use yumi to make the usb it gives boot options.

RedWulf got a reaction from Donut417 in nighthawk x6 triband not good range?
2.4 has better range indoors due to penetration, with a line of site you can typically get less interference and better range from 5, however few people care about like of site and signal level interference.
obviously, but I meant band as in 2.4 or 5 and the channel of 1-10. I would suggest you run some line if you can and add an ap at the end, even powerline.

I'm not on the cutting edge of AIOs but I'm thinking you're better off to just get into custom cooling since you can carry some of the loop into the next upgrade.

RedWulf got a reaction from Ben Potter in how do i install debian 6 onto usb
Not disagreeing with what he has, but if you just want to start into linux, you can download the typical debian image or most any linux iso from their host site and use yumi or LILI to make a live bootable thumb drive. You can play with it from the usb without installing to the PC and then install later. Ubuntu also lets you set persistents files, 4gb will work.
