  1. Sweet so a CPU upgrade is the plan rather than going graphics just yet. Thanks for the help, been out of the pc building game for a while so havent really been keeping up to date with things.
  2. Hi everybody, Looking to upgrade my graphics card, I have an R9 390 paired with an FX 8350 at the moment with a 850W Platinium PSU. Any advice on whether I should: (a) Sell the R9 390 and get a new card. (b) Get a second R9 390. (c) Get new CPU and wait for GPU upgrade. I have a Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 motherboard if that makes a difference.
  3. Hey Guys I'm looking in to water cooling and found two similar ish bundles, can anyone tell me which is better, i was to water cool a dual 120mm rad a single 240mm rad and my CPU and GPU. Any help is very welcome. Heres the two links: 1. http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/WCUK-Spec-240GTS-Black-Ice-Professional-Watercooling-Kit-Intermediate-Edition_55262.html 2. http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/XSPC-RayStorm-D5-Photon-RX240-V3-WaterCooling-Kit_45334.html
  4. Thanks man, i know what you mean but i do want to put time to this and i feel its the next hurdle for me in my pc building life. I really appreciate the links
  5. Hey guys im looking to water cool my cpu and gpu through a dual 120mm rad and a single 140mm rad. I was looking to do this with a pump/res mix in where my cd drive should be. Any hints on whats a good make to have sufficient flow rate and also is there any sort of loop rules, like CPU first for GPU first or rad then CPU or CPU then rad, this is my first time looking in to this and i really want to know what im doing before i 'SPLASH' the cash.
  6. Hey guys just wondering if it matter what type of R9 390 you combine when doing crossfire, as I'm getting a new monitor for Christmas and wanted to run it the best I can. I am looking at the factory overclocked XFX R9 390 and the normal XFX R9 390, base clocks of 1050MHz and 1015MHz. Will there be any problem crossfiring these two cards ? or will an overclock by me bypass this ?
  7. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B011RGX5MU/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=01DKN8GPNY3KJSKD45H3&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=577047927&pf_rd_i=desktop Is this a good PSU, will it be able to run an FX 8250 at 4.8GHz and 2 R9 390 ??
  8. Have you recently done any OC as that could be using more voltage than normal causing the shutdown? if so try boot up and lower the OC or even go to original settings and go from there. 'I'm no expert so sorry if I'm talking poop'
  9. I'm Looking to run 2 R9 390's with an FX 8250 OC to around 4.8GHz and was wondering what PSU would give me a stable voltage to OC and also have enough juice to run those cards in Crossfire. I am also looking for something that isn't heavy on the cost, should be around £100 to £160. Any help would be much appreciated.
  10. Simple question, what is the best R9 390 for money?? This is in the UK. I have one on amazon for 260 pounds which is the XFX Radeon R9 390 DD edition, but are there better ones out there. I am really not good at finding the best graphics cards so please help.
  11. So am i right to say that: The R9 390X and R9 390 are basically the same 'slight difference and 390X better for overclocking' and will run fine with my CPU on a low setting for 4k gaming. Then for higher settings it will need to be crossfire, but does the CPU need to be upgraded to achieve that results from crossfire or can it be overclocked to keep up so that there is no bottlenecking ?
  12. Sorry i worded this quite badly, I mean more so for gaming now at lower spec 4k and for future upgrades to the crossfire for the full experience when i have more money. Will it be bottlenecked by the FX 8350 though, that is my main concern.
  13. I am curious if i should get a R9 390 or R9 390X to run 4k games, i know the R9 390X is better but it also costs more, so is it worth the extra money to get the R9 390X? I have a AMD FX 8350 running at 4.6GHz, will this bottleneck either of these cards making the choice easier ??
  14. Games like Fallout 4, GTA 5 and Assassins creed and just the other popular ones?
  15. I have a AMD FX8350 that i have overclocked to 4.5GHz and I'm looking to upgrade my graphics to a AMD R9 390 or AMD R9 390X. Can anyone tell me if my CPU will bottleneck the card or if I am good to go??
