Steve can't control if someone subscribes to his channel and of course that video is going to get him attention. He was also the first person to call Linus and get his attention when the LMG channels got hacked. I really don't think his intent was hurt Linus in a personal way. The wake up call he gave them helped the company make the decision to take a week off from putting videos out and give employees time to actually work on improving their processes. I am sure they will be on friendly terms in the future.

Where is the new CEO in all of this? We have heard ZERO from this guy since the take over and since this whole thing kicked off.

This is something worth bringing up repeatedly. This should be viewed as a warning not a hit piece and doing Linus a favor and welcoming competition in the space but that GN beat them to the punch . It's been obvious for while that GN has been eating LTT's lunch when it comes to serious reviews and Linus put up the money to go after GN. Them buying test equipment is aimed straight at GN and the meme of people not taking LT reviews seriously.

I don't think the pace is any surprise when Linus has expressed on numerous occasions they need people to buy backpacks and screw drivers. He obviously made a go for it financial reach with LTT Labs and needs people watching videos and buying products to make the investment back. The worst thing you can do in a time of financial reach and investment is willfully shooting yourself in the foot and not playing it safe. That is what he hired Terren for and he already undermined any response from that side of the house.

They as in Billet Labs make them from scratch. They do not ORDER them. You cannot be serious.

They are not ordering a new one. They don't order prototype parts.

I have zero problem with paid advertisement spots or paid in video ad reads. I do think the channel accepting paid ad reads needs to CLEARLY mark in video what is paid and what is not. I feel the same for all social media. If you are receiving compensation for posting anything you need to disclose that up front or clearly distinguish what parts of the video are paid and which are not or in the case of fully sponsored videos they should be labeled as ads that is clearly distinguished from normal content.

Literally none of that matters when when Billet Labs sent a 3090ti they LOST and was supposed to go along with the waterblock. And Billet Labs having a pinned comment that LTT 'hearted' that said the 4090 has a 1mm gap after they actually looked into it. And people keeping offering up these WEAK excuses after Linus has TRIPLED down on not giving a F if they had the right GPU or not.

The best way they could have responded to this is a professional response with Terren taking charge but I had my own doubts about hiring a CEO as soon as it was announced and how much actual sway they would have at LMG when Linus can step in at any time and undermine or pre-empt the CEO based on Linus's knee jerk reactions. Based on the half baked at best to downright lying in Linus' response I think the best thing for the company moving forward would be for Linus to take some time off and let Terren actually be a CEO and put his stamp on the company. Linus has earned a break after all these years and Terren needs room to do his job while also being able to act on fixing issues. We need to see results from the change in leadership and Linus actually being adult enough to follow through with hiring a CEO and not just paying someone to be a scapegoat. If I were Terren I'd be EXTREMELY alarmed at how the past few days have gone down.

Exactly. Conflict of interest does not require bias to have already happened. Conflict of interest is the POSSIBILITY of bias. Bias comes AFTER the conflict of interest is established.

What would you call a company sending a 3090ti to test with a unique one of one prototype 3090ti water block and losing the 3090ti so you substitute a 4090? They literally sent the GPU to use with the block and I find it hard to believe LMG does not have reference 3090ti's sitting around for their own tests? Then they asked Billet Labs if a 4090 would work and they said they didn't know but 'it might' as they'd never tested one. That is all LAZY behavior and Linus tried to sweep it under the rug because 'the conclusion wouldn't have changed'. I'm astounded people are willing to put up with that shit excuse and LAZY 'review'.

You'd never know what the performance is because Linus couldn't be bothered to find the 3090ti Billet Labs sent with the water block. And its not up to you to decide what is a value for other people nor is it Linus' job. Yes, the price should be a part of the review but coming to a pre-determined conclusion on ONE factor alone is NOT a review and declaring the whole product bad is asinine at best. This obviously a niche product that is not designed around value but being unique and over the top like the purity of the copper used. It may be a shock to some but for quite a few members of the PC community PRICE is NOT a factor and they just want something cool and unique which has a value by itself. Paying extra for something very few other people have is value. And if Linus wants to be a 'man of the people' and condemn products on price you have to remember this is the same guy who in the past month alone has published videos featuring a $100,000 desk PC milled out of solid aluminum and using his POOL to water cool his PC. WTF. If we are going to talk about value and doing things just because you can, regardless of the price, then maybe Linus should lay off his own videos featuring ridiculous pet projects and builds for Twitch streamers.

That is NOT saying 'they are good' as in made whole by Linus/LMG.
