  1. It is actually a 130mm fan at around 1500rpm (according to the box) when the ECO mode turns itself off and the fan kicks in... it DEFINITELY sounds like that.
  2. My 750 G2 fan was squeaking so I did a RMA and got a 850 G3 back today. Normally you would think that this is an awesome free upgrade but holy shit is the G3 loud. Why the hell is the fan turning on at idle? It is in ECO mode but every 10 minutes or so while my PC is idle it turns the fan on for like 2-3 minutes and is really loud (everything else is watercooled so basically no noise from anything else while idle). My G2 never turned the fan on in idle and even while playing something like pubg with an overclocked 5820k and a 390x it mostly stayed off and when it finally turns on it wasn't even that loud (but squeaking...). Anyone else here having experience with the G3? Even though I really like EVGA and they basically gave me a free upgrade I seriously consider just selling my new 850 G3 and getting a Corsair H850i instead... this fan is driving me crazy.
  3. Considering that the Vega FE pcb is just mostly empty space for the cooler to fit this would be very easy to do.
  4. So why does higher bandwidth not increase my read/write speeds? I think of it like running 4 ram sticks in raid 0 vs running 2 ram sticks in raid 0. Shouldnt I get the same latency but twice the read/write performance?
  5. I tried making a ram disk and noticed that my ram speed is way lower than what it actually should be. https://puu.sh/uK7ZR/7c9529f158.png Compared to these numbers for example https://puu.sh/uK842/e2339380be.png I have an i7 5820k and kingston hyperx 2666MHz CL15 ram. XMP is enabled and I have a 4.4GHz overclock This is from someone on Discord who did the same thing with dual channel 3000MHz ram which looks much better than mine http://i.imgur.com/Ggz1JEP.png It looks like my quad channel doesnt actually do anything... I know its useless for gaming and all that stuff but for a ram disk?! One of the few things where ram speed actually matters... I think that something is wrong with my ram or my settings, any ideas how to fix that or does quad channel really doesnt help with that?
  6. Thanks it works fine Crunchyroll had the same problem, you can ask them how they fixed it.
  7. I have a r9 390x right now and I use it for my HTC Vive. I would love to have a rx 480 because it would probably use half as much power. I have to pay my power bill by myself in a few months so it would be really nice to have
  8. Well then why do people on the Vive Reddit run it perfectly fine on a 970??
  9. then it would be a 10XX exclusive but it seems to run perfectly fine on a gtx 970... the only difference between a 970 and a r9 390x is phsyx which can be done with CPU too (but with lower fps)... there is not a single reason to outright block AMD GPUs
  10. But it still doesnt run on Linux. The whole game is still a .exe that would only run on Linux if you use WINE (which would have normal performance thanks to Vulkan) but the DRM doesnt allow this because the DRM itself only runs on Windows. Theoretically a cracked doom version which is not out yet could run on Linux
  11. It only runs on Nvidia GPUs with no technical need for it. It blocks all AMD GPUs. It would run really bad on AMD GPUs anyway but outright blocking them is a different thing.... The game runs (bad but whatever) on a gtx 980 with CPU phsyx so there should be no difference to a r9 390x and no technical reason to not let AMD GPUs even start the game edit: I didnt know where to post this... I hope graphics cards should be ok because this is a GPU related topic
