If you go with something like Ubuntu it is the windows of linux. You never have to use the CLI but learning the CLI makes everything faster and easier

Gotta be linux then for control. And you can always emulate windows through the environment if you need to run windows specific applications.

when i first installed windows 10 it was a clean install from windows 7
bad:
at first it was sorta cool then the updates storm came up, i made the all the updates when i first installed the windows but afterwards it started to get annoying that the updates are automatically downloaded which slows the internet real bad so i had to close it from the services.
at windows 7 i was using microsoft security essential as an anti-virus it wasn't pre-installed at windows 7 and you had an options menu in the anti-virus where you could tweak it such as lowering the CPU usage when it's scanning something
at widows 10 the microsoft security essential(aka windows defender) is pre-installed and that options tab is now gone D: which makes me unable to cap it's CPU usage when scanning, makes gaming way harder since my pc isn't that top-notch which made me close the anti-virus and now i'm walking around ,downloading stuff without an anti-virus running on the pc
good:
i guess DX12 should be a good thing but my GPU only supports DX10.1 ,so yea...
also that extra desktops feature(win+tab) is so cool and doesn't consume any extra resources so i tend to use it alot

I haven't used it extensively, the last time I used Win10 was Insider Preview Build 10074.
But from what I remember...
What I liked:
It looks pretty nice It felt like Win7 with some Win8.1 quirks What I didn't like:
It felt weird but that could've been because it was an Insider Preview. -

I hate the frequent bugs. My Start Button and notification center have broken about 3 times since I updated. But I love the rest of it.

It's a good operating system if set up the right way, but have faced issues with almost every update, but almost always fixed by running a cmd prompt as admin and entering DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (not so annoying on a nvme drive) have had a couple other issues that were not so easy fixes, but bashing away eventually fixed system and compressed memory using way too much resources, and also a bug with crashing sometimes on sleep or shutdown may or may not have disappeared. Overall, i give it an 8.1/10

Everyone keeps talking about all the errors they have had, while im sitting here like no, in my universe they simply do not exist. Ive had like literally 0 bugs/problems/errors since upgrading to win 10. (pretty much when it came out)

Windows 10 frustrated me enough that I went back to Windows 7 on my gaming rig.
It generally worked well, then every so often would just randomly stall and stutter. I'd press the windows button and the start menu wouldn't appear until I pressed it another few times, or I'd press Win+L and it wouldn't lock for a few times.
I also strongly dislike their actions in regards to user data tracking and the lack of transparency they provide to their users over such. Totally wrong.
