dell inspiron is good value but dell's choices itself in design isnt great.

The most important question is what do you need from a laptop? Im doing game dev too but my needs are very different. I'd suggest sticking to the best CPU you can get with a mid GPU if you need to budget. 16GB of ram is a minimum though (buy the laptop with minimum ram then buy yourself ram seperately. Cruicial is one of the best cheapest ram you can buy yourself rather than selecting the config from dell).

If you can afford an SSD you should definitely go for one, it'd speed up launching your IDE and dev tools. Again buy it seperately from the laptop and if the laptop has m.2 you can have both hard drive and SSD for power saving and performance. Simply dont place any program/data you'd use on battery on the hard drive.

I do know that with the windows 10 anniversary update that if it's tied to his Microsoft account, then most likely, yes.

yeah... i don't think that people who think they can crash the entire internet, really understand how the internet actually works.  its designed to survive nuclear war in every major city in the world..  and in the unlikely even the "net" does fail... some basic re-configs can build city wide intranets with basically the same function. Then there is the mesh networks......yeah.. im not worried.

not to mention.. the ai is already selfaware and working in the background to keep itself viable.

well the way MS manages keys is by bonding the key to the motherboard. By deactivating the key on the motherboard you are able to reassign it to a new motherboard. Doing it this way is much easier to explain should the need arise.

Insanely lucky. The series you should be recommending for longevity are

    Lenovo ThinkPad
    HP EliteBook
    Dell Latitude
