  1. That's looking pretty nice. Gonna be ripping the streets with those 25 burly horses. The only issues im thinking of are slopes and gas mileage. Kinda want to see something a bit more than restorations sometimes though. Like just improving on the old designs with new tech and seeing how much better they can be, without making them into a "ricer" of course.
  2. You know, you're probably right, but it's not my car. But even with that it's still useful .
  3. So my dad's Opel Zafira model A is running quite a bit . . . crap. Just now i had to go pick someone up and i could hardly get it out of the parking space. Like it CHUGGED hard. It just wanted to die every time i pressed on the gas. You know about games stuttering? Well the whole car is stuttering before it gets warmed up and it feels like it's getting worse, and i don't mean it just wanting to stop running at cold starts. I've had it die when i was coming back from a trip, not a really long one, but the water well past being up to temperature. And so i had a mechanic look over it, didn't tell me jack, other than that the exhaust is fine. Which brings me to my dad's solution of removing the catalytic converter. Now that's not something that surprises me, i've had colleagues from my university that were running no cats. (which doesn't make it fine btw, im just not surprised) And what im asking is "Can i fix it myself?". I have a jack, a rather normal one with 4 small wheels and two jack stands. I have changed the oil of the car before and i have a bunch of tools i can use. Now i think it's a problem with the O2 sensor, but im not an expert, like at all, i just like cars and i like them running well. So aside from the car chugging at cold starts until it gets warmer, it also STINKS LIKE GASOLINE when i start it. It's like i have gasoline scented air freshener if im using the fans. When i open the window i can smell it outside as well. So the gasket or whatever might also be screwed quite a bit or just not tightened properly. Either way, it's a 21 year old car from Italy that's been treated not that great. Just a heads up, money is tight.
  4. So i built a completely new PC for my neighbor, and yes, it was very wasteful considering the specs and climate, but i got payed for it. I told him multiple times about better options, but he wanted one thing and that's what i delivered. Now the PC has an EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SC GAMING 6GB OC which i tested on my own PC and found it to run rather warm. Maxing out at 83c and staying there with the FAN at 70%. Framerates were good and i didn't feel like there were problems with it. This was done on my AOC 24G2U, with the original panel, using the Display Port. After that i went over installing Windows 10 on the new computer using an HDMI monitor, saw no problems there as well. I delivered the PC and we plugged it into a DVI monitor, since the 27G2U5 had yet to arrive. There were no problems there as well. Here is the problem: After an undetermined time (since im not there myself to see) the screen goes black as if there is no connection. I have tried choosing the DP port manually and it shows no picture. Plugging in the HDMI port showed the desktop as if it was the first monitor. Only after i unplugged and again plugged in the DP port did the monitor recognize it. And for those with doubts, i did check the cables, and from my experience it is actually hard to not have the cable all the way in, so this issue does baffle me. I thought it was just a minor thing, but i got a call about fixing it, so it is a repeatable problem. Do i just tell him to use the HDMI port and be done with it?
  5. This is looking rather complicated and it doesn't help that I couldn't easily find some settings in the BIOS while I was there. While the MSi ui is rather simple, it doesn't really feel untuitive. I had an Asrock board for my FX cpu before that felt alot better. The UI for my board is like a simple dark mode with tens of sub folders for everything.
  6. OK mate, again, it's in the tread... secondly I did say I used the calculator and there is no way I could use it if I didn't know all that kinda stuff about RAM. I literally used a guide that said to export a nanosecond report into the calculator... so I think I had my stuff covered. Anyways here's a pic of what I used and got.
  7. Mate, it's literally the first thing I say on this tread... but yeah. I saw how much stuff there were to change and I tried copying everything off of the Ryzen calculator that I could and when it didn't work, I tried rolling back bit by bit, but that also didn't work at all. So yeah, literally any setting I used aside from the XMP profile ended in a failed Memory overclock screen
  8. Uhh yeah, thanks for reminding me... I was a bit too frustrated about it to actually look up the manual and find the pins on there. But now my PC is back to normal, thanks. Though I still wonder if my motherboard can actually be used for any overlooking... hah
  9. I have an MSi X570 A Pro motherboard and I tried overclocking my Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200Mhz RAM timings with the Ryzen calculator. And so after every single attempt failed with even the smallest changes I decided to use the preset overclocks and shoot for 3600 Mhz as I was rather annoyed. First try I tried using the medium tight timings, didn't work. So second try I went for the lowest preset timings, meaning the highest numbers for the 3600Mhz preset, and then I went out of the room for a minute expecting it to go through it's now regular, off, on, sudden off, then on, then black screen, then waiting for a bit, and finally "Memory overclock failed. Press F1 for bios" type of thing... but no. It just stayed in the turned on but not posting stage. So I turned it off, tried again, same thing. *ok* ... So I turned off the PSU, held the power button to clear the CMOS, started the computer and now the power light isn't on, the motherboard fan is maxed out, and the CPU debug light is on, and all of that keeps going until I shut it off... so, did I screw myself over super hard because I wanted to squeeze just a little more performance?
  10. Ok now, back to the topic, mind answering my first question?
  11. To be fair, response time and reaction time both have a hand in the image you will have. But it all kind of doesn't matter if you're not an avid gamer. The monitor you chose will really depend on what you are using it for. All of these techy stuff won't matter if you can't even push the frames anyway. There is a whole post about monitor myths and what is what, so just take your time, ask and respond, research until you're satisfied and confident about your purchase.
  12. I would agree that the Acer looks better, asthetically wise and spec sheet wise. But you can always get more into it and search for any other monitor that you might like. Also you didn't say you needed a 144Hz monitor. So am i right in guessing you're after resolution and colors more, rather than the frames that go with the monitor?
  13. The guys above have a point, while i do dislike going off the main topic, i will still add some of my own thoughts on the matter. Well until you respond that is. Buying a completely new OEM Windows 10 liscense is like overpaying for something that other people got for free, which it pretty much is. Microsoft literally gave windows 10 away to the people that already had windows 7 one way or the other, so there really is no logic in paying so much for it, other than funding whatever microsoft i scheming. I don't want to be a conspiracy guy, but i find the windows 10 situation weird. As for the SSD, i have a kingston SSD in my other rig and it's used as a boot drive, seems to work fine, but that's literally one of my 2 SSDs that i have. My second one is in my current rig and it's the ADATA XPG GAMMIX S11 512Gb M.2 ssd, don't remember if it was NVMe, but im quite happy with it, though i have almost filled it up with my "stuff". Overall you should specify if this is the rig you HAVE or the one you WILL have so that the guys above can either calmly lose faith in fighting to get you a better PC or give you more reasons as to why their idea is better than what you are proposing. Also just to note i have a 3700X and an RX 580 so don't bully me.
  14. Really depends on what you want and how much you want to spend since i just noticed how many options there are, old and new, after diving into it last night to search for my own monitor. But what the guy above said seems reasonable for the rig, though i don't really know what 10 BIT means . . . yet.
  15. Well in terms of pricing my currency is pretty wonky. Especially for tech related items. A 24 inch and a 27 inch monitor have a big price difference where i live. So that is quite the problem as my funds are quite limited. Update: As you mentioned prices, i decided to have a look at more AOC monitors and found the newer 27 inch model 27GU2 which has an IPS panel instead and basically the same specs. It really makes it more enticing to buy, but the price difference, while little, is shy out of my range. Oddly enough though, i can only find it at one retailer and it's the exact same one i was thinking of buying the C27G1 from. Update 2: So my brain is having a hard time processing this, but i found the 32 inch version of the C27G1 and it costs less than the 27GU2. This just makes my choice more confused since i in no way want that big of a monitor, plus i probably can't fit it on my desk. That's pretty much the size of the TV we have. Update 3: At least the pricing of the 24 inch version of the IPS 27GU2 is what i would expect. So it seems like it's a very odd pricing problem for the C27G1 im looking at. In other words it shouldn't be that expensive, but it is and that's that.

    Any tips?

Now since i don't really see the basic "Just go to amazon and input all your requrements in the filter tab" i guess im gonna do it for you. But do keep note that doing some research yourself isn't bad. Watching reviews of popular products will help you understand them better and might even increase your viewing experience with things like minor monitor calibration that drastically increases the color accuracy. Also do keep note that good reviews have things like response time tests and input lag tests, these are two different things that both matter in the end and as the pinned post in the forum thread has said: "An 8 ms monitor can be faster than a 5 ms monitor in reality, or a 5 ms monitor might be slower than a different 5 ms monitor." It should be the same for 1ms monitors, so keep that in mind. Now after informing you about these few things im gonna list the monitors i have found interesting on amazon that fit your requirements. https://www.amazon.com/AOC-CQ32G1-Frameless-2560x1440-DisplayPort/dp/B07HKM16DT/ref=sr_1_1?crid=QBZJU9UKQUN&dchild=1&keywords=monitor&qid=1585991447&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547808011%2Cp_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A17751789011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A17726584011&rnid=17726583011&s=pc&sprefix=monitor%2Cundefined%2C270&sr=1-1 https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Non-Glare-Adjustable-Optix-MAG321CQR/dp/B07NQG1FFB/ref=sr_1_2?crid=QBZJU9UKQUN&dchild=1&keywords=monitor&qid=1585991447&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547808011%2Cp_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A17751789011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A17726584011&rnid=17726583011&s=pc&sprefix=monitor%2Cundefined%2C270&sr=1-2 https://www.amazon.com/Curved-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive-XG32VQ/dp/B077K87CWL/ref=sr_1_5?crid=QBZJU9UKQUN&dchild=1&keywords=monitor&qid=1585991447&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547808011%2Cp_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A17751789011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A17726584011&rnid=17726583011&s=pc&sprefix=monitor%2Cundefined%2C270&sr=1-5 https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-C32HG70-32-Inch-Monitor-C32HG70QQN/dp/B06XT6WQCJ/ref=sr_1_6?crid=QBZJU9UKQUN&dchild=1&keywords=monitor&qid=1585991447&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547808011%2Cp_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A17751789011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A17726584011&rnid=17726583011&s=pc&sprefix=monitor%2Cundefined%2C270&sr=1-6 https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XZ321QU-bmijpphzx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07CY1X7YL/ref=sr_1_8?crid=QBZJU9UKQUN&dchild=1&keywords=monitor&qid=1585991447&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547808011%2Cp_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A17751789011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A17726584011&rnid=17726583011&s=pc&sprefix=monitor%2Cundefined%2C270&sr=1-8 https://www.amazon.com/Gaming-VG32VQ-Curved-Monitor-FreeSync/dp/B07VFKSGRW/ref=sr_1_9?crid=QBZJU9UKQUN&dchild=1&keywords=monitor&qid=1585991447&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547808011%2Cp_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A17751789011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A17726584011&rnid=17726583011&s=pc&sprefix=monitor%2Cundefined%2C270&sr=1-9 Now while these 6 monitors, most of which aren't in stock, are just random picks i made because they looked good, i hope it does narrow down a bit your search. And you can always search for them on other stores, it's just that with these amazon links you can see alot of the reviews and opinions about these monitors. And while yes, the AOC isn't 1ms response time, i did say that you should see a reviewer's video that goes through the Response time and input lag, since it's all very complicated stuff that i just got into last night.
  17. Is the picture good? Is there a sort of problem with it? Is there an actual problem that requires you to buy a new TV that isn't your "friends". Anyways, not a TV guy, more of a monitro guy since i don't really watch TV stuff, but over all same deal. If YOU don't need it or want it, there really isn't a reason.
  18. Seeing as this has already been answered i might be just typing in a dead topic. But ima do it anyways. RX 580 around me are literally under 100 euro, second hand i mean. I kind of bought mine also second hand, way way back, for just under 200€ and it's still running great, but i do recommend a thorough research and alot of prepared questions to be sure of the quality of the card.
  19. I would say it's a really jank monitor. It only has the barest minimum of specs. And even then they are so minimalistic that i would really wonder if you should even consider the purchase. Now even if it IS HDR it doesn't say which class of HDR it is, which does say alot, and if anything it's not good. Here is an article on HDR i found randomly just now https://tftcentral.co.uk/articles/hdr.htm I didn't really read the whole thing, but i found the information i was looking for. Overall i think it's best to look for a review for this monitor even if it IS from a small tech channel or just some random guy, because any opinion from a person that actually owns it is more valid than anything that both me or the people who made it say. Since it will be a user's experience of the product.
  20. After a little scuffle with life i am upset, to put it simply. For that reason im looking to freshen up my mood with a decent purchase. The monitor mentioned in the title is what i came to as the monitor that i would want to have. Although my realest goal would be a 1440P 144Hz 27 inch monitor, those are simply beyond my budget, but the AOC somehow, conveniently covers my budget almost to its full extent. Anyways, im running an RX 580, being my bottleneck for the 3700X that i of course plan to use until it dies or quantum computing takes over. My rigs go by the rule of just upgrade to the max on a per component basis, so my next upgrade should have been a new GPU, but i can't really see one that i want existing right now. . . . Rambling aside, i know that the monitor will need some calibration after starting it up, im just wondering as an overall if it's worth it, since we are in a pandemic and all. Also im currently using a Samsung S24F350, which is a 24 inch PLA or whatever, monitor that i use at 72Hz, with supposed free sync. I don't really see tearing so im guessing it's working. . . or i just don't run my games over 72Fps aside from CSGO. Right, i should mention what im planning to use it for. Games, all of the games. Racing, E-sport, Shooters, Puzzles . . . ect. They include, but are not limited to, Skyrim, Overwatch, Resident Evil 2, The Witcher 3, Half Life S/2 (cause i like old games as well) . . . etc. Videos, aside from LTT videos i watch random shiz i find entertaining. Video Editing, im a somewhat aspiring youtuber, but not really, i just do it cause i enjoy it, rather than looking for views. So umm, i think that's all really. . . maybe a bit too much actually.
  21. I take this as a win, or close to that. The point is temps are fine and GPU spikes less, that last pig spike is probably my Screen Screenshot.
  22. I might try that, just not for now. I have been using the same Steam install folder, even copied it over from my previous HDD, since about 2 or 3 windows 7 installs, and im on win10 now. I was very surprised it has lived through all that.
  23. So that didn't work either. And i made sure. The MSi GPU usage line has been primarily flat with no 100% spikes after closing steam and the GPU went from 40c to 32c.
