  1. yep the pxc 550 are good , i got the opportunity to thest them allongside the marshall, and also the sony mdr xb950n1's , but i decided to go for the marshall , they seamed to have the best neutral sound (imo, or at least the most a bluetoth hs could have, the pxc and the sony's were a bit to much on the bass area ), and the best price , got them for 220 us , but there is also the ANC version that is 50 dollars more and come with a hard leather/velvet case in true Marshall fashion.
  2. I'm now rocking (pun intended ) the Marshal Mid Bluetooth ,and i am very fond of them now , would totally recommend, but beware the clamping force is hard/ strong , and required a long time to break in about 2 months until my head got accommodated with them, and that after i put the around a set of book overnight . (at least you can rest assure these wont fall off your head even in the middle of a tornado) .
  3. Hi. If you wanna go wireless i strongly recommend you lock at the Jaybird Bluebuds or Run line-up ; But then I have another suggestion and the best in my humble opinion (these are the ones that i have): You should get the KZ - ATE HIFI (these will get your .flac's a run for their money [pun intended ]) for 10-20 bucks from aliexpress, and also while you're there get some rubber around the ear hooks so they stay in ear even in case of natural disasters , and the best thing is that they come in the box with a set of comply / memory foam eartips which is a win in my book.
  4. For headphones under 50 $ there are usually just a few options : Superlux HD668B, Superlux HD681, and the HyperX Cloud Stinger but these have only a 3.5 mm jack. If you desperately need a USB connection on them you could look at the Logitech G430 7.1 DTS, or the G230 , or G231. If you decide to go for one of the 2 you've listed I'd say go for the AULA , at least is a brand I've heard before , or at least I've seen in tech stores in a few countries here in Europe ,also the design is better I'd say (the mic is retractable in the interior of the headset which I would consider a bonus) .
  5. I'm pretty sure you'll get your answers here https://headphonereview.com/guides/bluetooth-5-0-faq/ Quote from the article : " Is Bluetooth 5.0 backwards compatible? Thankfully, yes. Bluetooth 5.0 devices can work with devices that only support older versions of Bluetooth — though you’ll be limited to the older device’s specifications when doing so. So, if you have a phone that supports Bluetooth 5.0 but a headset that supports Bluetooth 4.2, you’ll be limited to the 10 meter, or 33 foot, distance of Bluetooth 4.2. "
  6. Don't get the Kraken's!, the HS series are way better, or even the Hyper X Cloud (II especially) are also very good for the price. Also the clamping force on the kraken pro v2 is very bad(loose, constantly sliding )! also i noticed that they have a constant his/noise very noticeable on the higher volume!
  7. for any of those 3 , in my country (Republic of Moldova) I'd have to spend over 250$ , even for the used ones. Here are some options anywhere from 120 to 200$ : Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80/ 250 ohm ,-most probably what I'm gonna end up buying. Sony MDR-XB950N1, Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC, Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT, Marshall Major II wired, /or Bluetooth, Plantronics Backbeat Pro, BOSE QuietComfort 25, Audio-Technica ATH-PRO500MK2, Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BTWH, I'm tring to stay away from m50x's -those sound 10 time worse then my 50$ SoundMagic E50,
  8. the 880's are semi-open back , and they are lacking frequency balance, especially the 600 OHMS ones
  9. yes, mostly the cable breaks near to the 3.5 mm connector, although i had some xiaomi, and soundmagic in-ear earphones with kevlar reinforced core cables that whitstanded the abuse for more than 1 year.
  10. Hi, I'm looking for some budget CLOSED! over-ear/ on-ear (maybe even Bluetooth) headphones for my smartphone /PC . They would be used primarily for music while on the go, so they should have a strong build. Price range 100 - 170$ US. (also: my phone has built in a 10V smart power audio amplifier that supports high-impedance headphones of up to 600Ω) . Mostly I tend to listen to: Electronic, and techno, and a bit of rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-udVg2mfet8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxg4C365LbQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mov1xXyaMVg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVdjG5wFXqw Edit:I would prefer more Bluetooth , all my wired headphones tend to break rather quickly 6-10 months.
  11. Yea ,it's like we need to see more of Linus dropping stuff @ 10,000 fps
  12. It's portable ,it's a ton of power in such a small form-factor and it's surely better than my current laptop.
