  1. Lynda was not a sponsor for this weeks show (Freshbooks was) @OP
  2. I would like it to be my Final Mouse.. you see what I did there? inb4 #rip
  3. I got a Ducky S2 TKL (Cherry MX Blue) and a CM Storm Quickfire TK (Cherry MX Brown) myself. I can't see myself getting back to a full size keyboard, because I don't use the numpad anyway. The TKL is my favorite so far, because when gaming (mostly SC2), it feels more natural from a ergonomic point of view. I never used a Vortex Pok3r or similar sized keyboard, so I would be very excited to try it out if I would win. Also a nice size to cary with you if you use a laptop.
  4. It's nice to see how you developed overall. First vid I've seen must have been a NCIX one, after that I think the ''Corsair Carbide 500R Gaming Case Unboxing & First Look'' video, because at that time I was looking for a new case.. The review and unboxing was so extensive (specially around that time on YouTube), that it really convinced me to buy the case. From the start I was hooked on the live show streams. I think I watched all of them from the cold garage ones. What makes the format unique, is that you can also only listen to it (like a podcast) and be entertained by the content. Besides that, they really accentuate the human aspect, because you can talk more open and not scripted, and even in the old ones you guys had 'technical difficulties' lol...
  5. Jay's channel: No brainer, DRUNK TECH TALK! TechQuickie: The fan bearing helped me the most of the recent vids and was kinda funny.
  6. The speaker implementation including the 'Sonicmaster', first time I saw something like this. I'm curious how it sounds!
  7. Story time I once had an old Acer (core2duo) notebook which was getting slow, used it as student at the time. The main drive had just 120GB of HDD space, so I used a Freecom 1TB and a 500GB external HDD for mass storage. I had no money for a new pc at the time, so decided to upgrade it with a OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS SDD. At that time, the SDD prices where still high (250 euro for 120 GB model!) Very excited with a first SDD, but I couldn't get it to work in my notebook (no ahci option in bios, no bios upgrade available). Windows 7 install literally lasted all day, and the system froze every few seconds. I was so disappointed with this purchase, because I was back where I started with less money. After a few months (November 2011). i decided I wanted to build a custom pc to replace the notebook (didn't need it for college anymore), but again I didn't have the money for the ultimate gaming pc I really wanted to build. I found a great deal (Acer Aspire desktop, i7-2600) for cheap (HDD prices where still insane because of the flood, so that was my only budget option at the time. This one had a 1TB drive build in, and I still used the external drives for mass storage. After a few months (March 2012 by then) when I thought, let's buy a AMD Radeon 7870 GPU, but it looked like the GPU was to big for the prebuild Acer case. At that time, I had gained more experience into the tech and how to build a pc (thank you Linus ), that I decided to buy a brand new Corsair 500R case and build all the components from the Acer case to the new one. Finnally, I could try if the OCZ Vertex 3 I mentioned earlier could work in my system. And gladly, it worked! So my final config that I still use at the moment: - OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 120 GB (boot drive, Windows 8 pro, few games, programs) - Seagate 1TB (The one that was the boot drive in my Acer desktop, mass storage) - Freecom external HDD 1TB (mass storage, it's connected but don't use it that often) - Freecom external HDD 500GB (movies/series backups, not connected at the moment) The only thing I'm still missing at this moment, is a secure backup solution. I think WD Red 4TB in a nice NAS config would be an awesome solution Twitter: https://twitter.com/djCoB/status/377819193724268544
  8. TEAM B FTW, great video again! Can't help it, still somewhat disappointed with the Shine 3 features.. The new lighting modes look awesome, but I'm the kind a guy that sets one mode and will keep that mode forever. Aluminium body is the only pro for me! Did they (off camera) mention anything about a TKL version Shine 3? Anyhow, the offcial supplier for The Netherlands had a final shipment of Shine 2 with cherry mx blue yesterday, so I guess I'm buying myself a Shine 2 TKL today :)
