  1. so how bad a quality drop are talking about?
  2. so a game limited to 1080p will stretch to 1440?, why is that, since they are the same aspect ratio's?
  3. Hey LTT, I have a bit of headache on my mind here and I'm hoping someone awesome out there is willing to help If I play a game on a 27" 2560x1440 monitor that doesn't natively support that resolution ie: highest res it goes is 1920x1080 (before ini tweaks) will it display properly or will I need to tweak it to use the full screen? If so I might just go 5760x1080 instead of 7680x1440 I was planning for simplicity sake (also how bad is 1080p for a 27inch IPS monitor really or would 23inch be better for 1080p) reason I ask is because I'm building my first PC eventually when I can decide whether or not I'm going 1155/2011 or Haswell/2011 (new chipset x99?) and I'm jumping headlong into it, full watercooling, nvidia surround :) Thanks all
  4. yeah, I just found out (in the past hour) that someone has fixed the horrible menu glitch :), also my OCD like habits would crush me if I has one 16:9 and two 4:3 monitors
  5. Okay so I'm sorry about making another one of these threads but after getting the wonderful advice from the previous thread and deciding that the ASUS PB278Q was the monitor for me I noticed that my e-tailer starting stocking the MX series of monitors from ASUS. Now my interest in surround gaming has been growing and I also know that certain games don't support it at all, e.g Skyrim. So before I ask my question here is the specs to the PC i will be building once the 900D and GTX Titan is back in stock (I'll even add the peripherals) Corsair 900D Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5-TH I5-3570K (might go with a 3770k) Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x4GB 1886C9 EVGA GTX Titan ASUS Xonar Essence ST Corsair AX1200i Samsung 840 Pro 256GB Seagate Barracuda 3TB Pioneer BDR-208EBK Max Keyboard Nighthawk X8 SteelSeries Sensei Raw Sennheiser HD598 (PLEASE READ IN REGARDS TO PLANNED BUILD: The lack of aftermarket cooling and "excessive" psu is because I will be adding a 2nd titan and watercooling the system once I get the funds together) Now i'm tempted due to possible space constraints to go with the 23inch MX version over both the 27in MX and the 27in PB278Q but will I notice that missing 4 inches in games like skyrim where I will me forced to use only one screen since it doesn't play well in surround? also added info is at most I will be 120cm (3.93feet) from the monitors. Thanks for any help/discussion and the long winded post :)
  6. all good points, I'll just see how I go. I have 15 inch laptop screen (wat im upgrading from) and i'm less than a full arms length away and it feels to small most of the time and I have a 32inch tv about 2 metres from me and that's definately 2 small so I think a 27 would be perfect at around arms length
  7. Anything interesting about the new Samsung, I have a 4 - 6 week window while the titan and the 900D release
  8. What about input lag and other tid bits like build quality and bezel (gloss vs matte)
  9. Well it's a little self explanatory but I'll explain why I'm asking. Ok so I'm building my first PC EVER as soon as the Corsair 900D and the GTX Titan is available readily in Australia. Since this is a complete build, meaning everything from the tower itself to the peripherals like the monitor. So I've made up my mind I want a 2560 monitor but I am having a hard time choosing between them. Any thoughts would be appreciated as I am leaning more towards the ASUS monitor at this time Thanks
  10. yeah it seems like what every body is saying what i've been seeing and hearing. it's a bit of a shame that Nvidia and AMD don't have a more fixed release schedule :/
  11. Hey LTT, I'm just wondering when you guys reckon it would be to late to purchase a GTX 600 series graphics card or if I should wait until Nvidia Titan or GTX 700 series drops reason I ask is because I'm on track to build my pc by end of March at the latest and I plan on a 2 way Sli config Thanks for any opinions P.S My body is ready for the inevitable flame :p
  12. that's a modded 800D by the looks of it, 900D only has 4 5.25 Bays with a stealth flap for io, that pic has the hotswap bay, not sure what the white thing on bottom of 5.25 bay, dvd or blu ray drive, dual bay res and fan controller? plus a stealth flap for io. Shame though
  13. Very informative, definitely an article I'm going to refer to when I build my loop later this year. Just a quick question in relation for FPI of rads and rpm of fans, any chance you could add a section talking about for example rads with a fpi of 10 or less are suited for fans of xxxx rpm with good static pressure?
  14. That very could have been me, if you saw 247Unbiased247 tweeting 2 - 3 times than yeah, I wanted to hear what they had to say but i was unlucky oh well :) also for people worried about air cooling in the 900D here's the thread where a Corsair product manager by the name of CorsairGeorge has been linking information He first shows a teaser pick (he has since shown more pics and info) http://www.overclock.net/t/1297712/mizukicommunity-corsair-900d-godzilla-unveiled/870 Bonus link where he mentions front fan placement http://www.overclock.net/t/1297712/mizukicommunity-corsair-900d-godzilla-unveiled/950 Now the short and sweet condensed version it has spacing off the top of my head for Front : 120:3 (rad supported) Top : 120:4 140:3 (rad supported) Back : 120:1 140:1 (rad supported) Basement: 120:4 140:3 (rad supported) Happy Reading
  15. Question: Are you using your built in fan controller to slow down the speed of your fans? if so have you tried another fan controller, direct power from psu? if so you are not alone when it comes to the clicking sound. The original fan controller in the cosmos 2 was identified as causing clicking sounds by many because of the way it originally handled voltage control of the fans. Anyway Coolermaster now offers a replacement fan controller pcb that could fix your problem. Here is a link that should help you out if that's the case. :) http://www.overclock.net/t/1265915/cosmos-2-upgraded-fan-controller-now-available-in-north-america
