  1. Linustechtips, you must review the updated version of this laptop with 8th gen Intel CPU and the blessed 144Hz screen you asked for in your previous version review! @LinusTech Link: https://www.gigabyte.com/Laptop/AERO-15X--i7-8750H#kf
  2. He replied to my other thread, I just wanted to know if there were any other alternatives I should be considering in the same ball park.
  3. The G7 doesn't have a high refresh rate display. I did however just come across the MSI GP63 which seems to fit the bill pretty well so far...
  4. Hi guys, I'm looking for the cheapest laptop with the following conditions: GTX 1060 i7 8750H 16GB DDR4 SSD + HDD expandability High refresh rate display Not ridiculously heavy Decent battery life Does it exist? The only option I found that was available in my country satisfying these conditions was a Gigabyte Sabre 15 but I'm wondering if there's better out there. Thank you so so much. Kind regards, Ryan
  5. They're similar in price, but the Sabre has the 120Hz display and bigger battery. However it seems less popular than the G7, why is this?
  6. Lol @everyone didn't realise this case supported ATX will go back to drawing board...
  7. @QuantumBit I see here they just left the shroud off in some of the photos, and to be honest I think that looks way more attractive. Plus, an increase of $30 max over other options which are like 300W less really isn't something for me to sweat...
  8. @QuantumBit See photos at https://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id=10&id2=210&bid=5&sid=287078 They tell a different story... EDIT: Nvm I see they just left the shroud off
  9. @Vadise In terms of white PSUs that unit is only about $30 more than a Silverstone 520W PSU, which are the only two real white PSUs I can seem to choose from. While usually I would pick a hard drive for mass storage, this is the first build I'm determined to make with purely SSDs (1 for boot and 1 for mass storage, mainly because combining them incurs a premium of $100). With the ROG board thing, I'm well-aware of this but this is the only Z370 mATX board available here right now from Asus, which I haven't yet been convinced to abandon... Very valid points, but keep in mind the white theme and what this means for component choice. Soz for being picky lmao @Alex Colson
  10. 11. 12. @TARS So does that mean it can hook up to other devices too, or does it only have pre-synched LEDs on-board?
  13. Hey, So I was wondering if the ASUS ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming ( https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z370-G-GAMING-WI-FI-AC/ ) has an internal RGB header for RGB synchronisation with other devices? I'm looking for an mATX current generation board with RGB for a double-shoebox size build. Thanks for all your help! -Ryan
  14. As in title. Personal experience is welcome. -R
  15. G'day! I'm looking for a good mouse to play CSGO with on my desktop but I'm struggling to find one straight answer on which is the best option. My requirements are: Must be wired Must be ergonomic Must be under $100 USD Please also leave a comment on why you chose a specific mouse (e.g. sensor, shape, etc) I read on some websites that the Zowie mice were good, but then others said their 3310 sensor was outdated. Other sites recommended Logitech mice, or even Razer mice - honestly, I just want a straight answer. Can people not agree on a good mouse? Thank you for your help. -R
  16. I would highly recommend grabbing a card with triple displayport
  17. The 970 is more than capable of running Battlefront. I ran it at max settings at 60 FPS stable.
  18. G'day, So I recently considered purchasing a GTX 1070, but I couldn't figure out which brand was the best for me. These are the options: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 8GB Video Card Asus GeForce GTX 1070 ROG Strix Gaming OC 8GB Video Card MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB Video Card I only want one from either Asus, EVGA or MSI, so please no suggesting other brands if that's okay. I realise that the EVGA specs state a higher clock speed, but it does this with a 215W power requirement, which is a notable 65W above MSI's 150W of power. As for ASUS, I wasn't able to find its power draw, so this makes me hesitant on that option. This leads me towards the MSI card, but what doesn't make sense is how the Asus card is able to achieve a boost clock of 1860 MHz with 1 8-pin connector, while the MSI needs a 6-pin and an 8-pin to achieve the lower 1797 MHz clock speed. Can anyone clarify? Anyone's help would be appreciated, but 1070 owners' input is especially valued. Thanks! - Ryan
  19. G'day What would you say is currently the best wired mouse and why? I currently own a Razer DeathAdder 2013 and I'm unsure whether there's anything actually worth upgrading to. Cheers!
  20. Image not working for me.
  21. Nah, you don't need a second Steam account mate. You can use any email, it will just prompt you when you click the inside link to activate the game to your inventory or library in the currently signed-in Steam account. Of course, if the currently-signed in account is not the one you wish to use, then you can just sign out and sign in to that one before going ahead and activating the product.
  22. You can redeem a Steam gift on your own account by selecting "add to library" in the inventory screen.
  23. Mcmole's suggested build would be excellent for a productivity-oriented build. Legit, that's actually really really good.
