Hopes and dreams for Zen2:

- 10% IPC increase (at least matching intel, hopefully beating them)

- OC to 4.5Ghz at least

- Infinity fabric is no longer linked to DRAM speed, and now operates independently at a much faster speed (as if the RAM was at 5Ghz or something)

    AMD has said clock speed is their primary goal I believe for zen+, also infinity fabric uses DRAM as the bus or something, so Zen2 could indeed be quite different, we won't know for a while.

    Those all sounds like good things to me.  A 10% IPC bump would be enough to match or beat Intel, but to catch them on single-threaded performance they need to break through that ~4 GHz barrier and match them clock for clock as well.
