Back in the 9th grade 2 other buddies of mine and myself started our own school project. Our project was to dismantle a computer, make our own case, and assemble the computer inside the case we built ourselves. For the longest time a friend of mine had been saying that he knows pretty much everything about computers. Turns out he didn't know anything, but i'll get back to that.
I went to a very cheap-ass school, so there were always trouble with the infrastructure there, so as you probably guessed the computers at the school crashed all the time. Also note that all of the computers were "hooked up" for lack of a better term to ONE Server. This was a big school with around 200+ computers all hooked up to this one server. (Recipe for disaster). Since all of the computers were connected to the same server that would mean that if there was one single error on the server, then all of the 200+ computers at my school would simply not work.
These computers all went down the drain atleast twice a week making them completely and utter useless. And everytime the system went down the teachers always asked this friend of mine that thought he knew everything about computers. Let's call him Bob to make it easier to follow. Anyways, The teachers would always have Bob look at the computers, and tell them what was wrong. Ofcourse he didn't know what he was talking about, so he said the following: "Yeah, mhm, okay. Yes it seems that you have gotten a network system error inside the processor, it will be back up in an hour". Yes, that is ACTUALLY what he said, let that sink in for a moment. Oh, I totally forgot; The time he said that it was a "Network system error inside the processor". the teachers were trying to figure out why there was no sound from the speakers. Turns out the audiojack was not plugged in.
Anyways I got really off-track here. My friends and I were assembling the computer into the case that we had built ourselves. When suddenly Bob came by. My friends and I were kind of annoyed at Bob, so we asked him "which one of these components is the motherboard"? I bet anyone here on the forum would be able to point out which component in a computer was the motherboard, right? Bob pointed at the HDD, of course we all laughed, because this was proof that he knows nothing about computers, and was just spewing bullshit all the time. After we all calmed ourselves down, I said: "well surely you know this is the graphics card, right? (I pointed at the CPU). Bob said: "Yes ofcourse, how dumb do you think I am? That's when I almost broke out in tears laughing.

Since that event he stopped claiming he knew everything about computers and was an "IT-Guru". Anyways, my buddies and I delivered in our assignment, and got ourselves an A.

Some guy called my office, trying to sell me computers. I just said "oh you mean those little box's with the tv on top? Yeah, our accountant has some". He promptly gave up and hung up the phone lol

after we would not GIVE her another drive she said she would never shop here again and left. but came back an hour later because best buy sold the same hdd for $225 or so. but the next time she let us install it. I did not laugh until she was out of the store like a true professional.

The latest for me, is my mother calling me to ask why her computer mouse doesn't work (while shouting that it's a piece of crap and what not), when I get there, I find she managed to plug the USB mouse in the Ethernet port of her laptop.. Couldn't help facepalming in front of her.

How just how..........

I would not go with skylake cuz its too overpriced atm get an i5 4690k and an LGA 1150 motherboard
 
Also ditch the H55 its very loud.. Get a h100i or NZXT X61

Hey guys, I have the Carbide 200R case with an intake at the front and an exhaust at the back. I have another intake at the front, but unfortunately there's a hard drive bay right in front of the fan, so almost no air can actually get in. Would you recommend installing this fan at the bottom of the case or at the top of the case as an intake? Thanks for your advice!

Well, its time to rebuild my computer, its getting on a bit, and although the componants have stood the test of time well, im just getting bored with the overall build. So, time to do a rebuild!!!!
 
First and foremost though, i need to thank these awesome people/companies for either sponsoring me, discounting stuff for me (as i am on a really tight budget) or just generally been there when ive needed help with things!

I walk over to his house and I see that he has a gateway box sitting on the floor
 

 
Me: You know I could of built you one for cheaper?
Friend: Yeah but then I wouldn't get word

I look at the side of the box and its got an i7, 8 gigs of ram and a 650 ti
 
Me: So what do you plan to do with it?
Friend: Facebook and stuff... Its not like its an alienware

Me: You know you could game on this
Friend: What?
Me: Its got decent specs.
 
I finish setting up the computer in silence, 
 
the next day*
 
the phone rings*
 
Me: Hello?
Friend: I thought you said I could game on this!
Me: Yeah, you can play games like crysis and junk
Friend: There are no games on this!!

I explained to him that you have to buy the games on steam or gamestop, so we somehow end up going to the mall to buy a game. I go home and everything seems swell

Friend: This game is not working, I think the disk is scratched
 
I go over to his house and he shows me that its not working. by putting the game disk into the tray, turning the computer off and then on again. And expecting the game to pop up like on xbox...

As Emperor_Piehead said I have Ubuntu, OS X and Windows 7 all running from the same hard drive ^_^ you should be fine. I do highly recommend Ubuntu personally since it's my distro of choice but as said above Mint is the most windows-like distro of them all but if you really want a linux feel while still having a user-friendly environment :D then Ubuntu has to be the one for you.

I really like Fedora and Xbuntu, but Linux mint is a really good choice too. Fedora is my go-to distro and Xbuntu is Ubuntu with XFCE desktop (kind of looks like an Apple desktop). 
 
I'd say give them all a shot. They can all be bootable from a USB drive, so you can try out the OS without installing anything to your hard drive. 

Ubuntu has a great windows install tool called wubi.  You can get it here.  I like linux mint personally.  Its also pretty easy to install.  Just get the iso and use something like pen drive usb installer to make a bootable usb drive.  Then just load up linux from usb and install from there.

I play LoL with some friends (US servers) but rarely alone. Those saying Dota is better than LoL might be right but its sad because 80% of the time they won't take the time to say why and snap at people thinking they are some kind of better players or that we lesser beings should bask in their glory. Its realy stupid, I appreciate those that try to explain why.
 
I didnt try Dota2 enough to have a good grasp on it myself. So I stick to LoL because I don't play often and I am maxed out in runes and xp. Imo runes are a good part of strategy even though most builds end up very similar. Also being mad because there is a lot of champions is weird to me. If you want to be any good, you try to stick to 1-2 roles and maybe 2-3 champions each. Its not hard to acquire 6 champions you like.

But why? simply saying something is better than something is proving anything.  I'm willing to listen if someone provides a valid explanation. 

Why does everyone hate LOL? My experience of it so far has been quite pleasing. Of course you get the occasional troll, but doesn't that happen in all games?  I'm not into fan boyism and not defensive of LOL, so if anyone can tell me the reasons that LOL is bad i will listen.

personaly id go with kingston hyperx blu ram its cheaper and same speed cas of 9 will save some money their and acquire a windows 8 trial then google for what you want *cough* works after 60 days*cough*
