Silentprototipe reacted to HairiestLad in Question: AMD stock has done extremely well this year, but how much higher can it go?
I had the same thought the other day. Hindsight is 20:20 it seems

Silentprototipe got a reaction from Araf in Increasing more than 2gb shared memory
It really doesnt matter that much at all. Windows will just dump the excess into system RAM when you run out of VRAM which you are using as VRAM in the first place. You could set the shared RAM to something like 256 or 512 Mb and it wouldnt change performance because Windows will already use System RAM for VRAM when it your IGPU runs out. So dont worry about it Windows will do the job for you

Silentprototipe got a reaction from cj09beira in UPDATE: NVIDIA backtracks - Hardware Unboxed blacklisted from receiving GeForce FE review samples over “focus on rasterization over ray-tracing”
Nvidia thinks were stupid lmao. Shame AMD doesnt make it into most laptop designs in the GPU department or I would have bought a laptop with an RX 5500M/5600M instead of being forced to buy one with a 1650. Nvidia is far far too greedy and doesn't deserve money the way they act

Silentprototipe reacted to Moonzy in (dumb) Qustions unworthy of a thread
How many % is 20 fps? If it's within 5% then it's normal, assuming you have the exact same settings in everything including background tasks and windows settings, and also hardware down to RAM speed and latency
It really depends, if it's GPU bound scenarios then you'll have to check the exact graphical settings they're using and for Nvidia GPU, maybe some Nvidia control panel tweaking
For CPU bound scenarios, background tasks can affect this a lot
Also temperature may affect things too as reviewers test in open air test bench, while most people would have their PC in a case
So their GPU may boost slightly higher
Not to say that their results are bs, since it's all relative to compare between GPU, but it's definitely not how you're gonna run your games in the end, it's not a realistic test

why did I follow this thread

Silentprototipe reacted to Lord Szechenyi in (dumb) Qustions unworthy of a thread
most of the time they get products manufactured before the actual release, so they might manufacture it slightly differently.
Also, they could just give them better product so they can market it better. (deceiving you)

Silentprototipe got a reaction from the cool guy X_X in WTF IS THIS ???
Memory will overclock more than the core clock itself. If it doesnt crash and remains stable then you have sucessfully OC'd it 600 Mhz

Silentprototipe got a reaction from PlayStation 2 in Iphone 12 screen burn in
This sound more like a defect. Get it repaired under warranty since the 12 is so new. OLED's only burn in after years of constant use and not in 3 weeks

Silentprototipe reacted to Commodus in Gone like the wind - Chairman Ajit Pai will step down FCC on Jan 20
Not that he really had much choice. His term was still due to expire in June, and you know Biden wasn't going to tolerate Pai's policies for five months out of decorum. This gives Biden a chance to repair Pai's damage starting on day one.

Silentprototipe reacted to DrMacintosh in It's now AMD vs Apple - more Ryzen 5000U-series benchmarks found
It's more like AMD and Apple are doing their own thing. Intel is irrelevant but that doesn't mean Apple and AMD are competing...bc they aren't really.

Silentprototipe got a reaction from Letgomyleghoe in 9900k Constantly Power Limit Throttling.. why??
Wild speculation but ive seen some motherboards with power profiles. Not sure if MSI is one of them but it may be worth taking a look in the BIOS for something like that. I have severe doubts the Z390 board you have would be the issue. Also you havent mentioned thermals at all so if that can be clarified too that would be great

Silentprototipe reacted to TempestCatto in Rockstar will start selling an Red Dead Redemption 2 ONLINE ONLY version for only $4.99USD on December 1st
Meanwhile GTA Online continues to be a cesspool of unfair advantages thanks to mommy's credit card. To be honest, I don't really care much for Rockstar anymore. Maybe if they make a hella good GTA 6...

Silentprototipe got a reaction from uncreativespace in What year was your mobile phone released? [Poll]
Moto G7 Power. I was severely broke and I had like $300 left in my account so its all I could realistically could afford. Its done me well but man the 3 GB of RAM is not aging well. Battery life is absolutely stellar tho

Seriously though this is encouraging that AMD is finally gonna start forcing Nvidia to get off its ass

Silentprototipe got a reaction from Letgomyleghoe in TSMC Could Rollout 2nm by 2023
Were close to the end game here. We cant keep shrinking further at some point so I wonder what is gonna be next. Either were gonna see architecture changes instead of transistor changes or just a move to a whole different computing method

Silentprototipe got a reaction from Ashton2165 in Build for Someone. Thoughts?
Solid build but id wait a bit to see if prices drop on that 5700XT although Ryzen 3000 is also a decent upgrade over a 2600 (Believe me im within striking distance of my friend's 2700x with a 4600H thanks to the arch change)
