  1. Budget (including currency): 600-700€ / 700-800$ Country: PT Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Only for gaming and the usual browsing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I already have a few things I can use from my previous setup. My power supply is a super flower gold king 1000W, I already have a few fans from corsair/noctua and SSDs. I got very lucky this week and bought a Gigabyte Windforce 2070 8GB for 200€ (around 250$) and thats why Im building this PC. I wasn't even planning to upgrade, but 200€ for a 2070 is a steal. I chose that specific MB because it also supports the 5000 series (which I plan to upgrade to, later), has PCI 4.0, supports up to 4600mhz RAM, the chipset is quite decent, has a lot of USBs etc. The 5600X is sold out everywhere and the price is a little high, so I'll wait until it drops. So I'm missing the cooler. Any suggestions? I also want the cooler to be able to cool my future 5600X. Thank you for your time
  2. Do you know if it can detach the keyboard? It isn't mandatory, just curious. Really? Did you use one, or you say that from what you read online? It looks like it might be a good option From what I recall, the first iterations weren't so good.
  3. Hey guys. I'm looking for a laptop (that can also be used as a tablet), just like the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, for my business and at the moment Media Markt has a very good deal on them (but it ends Sunday!). I use a very heavy program that manages stock, staff, accounting etc etc, so it has to handle that pretty well. My current one is a Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz, 4gb ram and can handle it fairly well. However from time to time it does freeze. Does anyone here has/used one? Is there a better option? Thanks in advance
  4. alright. thanks a lot for the fast replies guys! Which 970/r9 290x would you go for? I've heard good things about the gigabyte 970 and vapor x r9 290x
  5. Hey guys. I'm going to buy a 1440p 27'' monitor and I would like to know if 670 SLI can handle it. The most heavy games I'll be playing are gta5, witcher3, bf4, star citizen and if possible in high settings. If both 670 can't handle it, what would you recommend? Thanks

    AKG Q701

What would you pick between the DT990 and the Sennheiser 558?

    AKG Q701

Why do you think the DT990 are better? you mean spec-wise? edit: I've been reading that to take full advantage of the Q701 you need to have some expensive equipment. Is this true? The only equipment I have for sound is the asus stx

    AKG Q701

Hey guys. I'm currently using the ath-m50 and I love the sound, but the earpads are very small and I prefer the earpads like the sennheiser pc350 has, where the ear doesn't touch anywhere. Do you guys know what size are the akg q701? I'm also looking into the dt 990. What do you guys think? thanks in advance

    IPS vs AH-IPS

what about the specifications? worth the price? edit: if you guys know any other brand/model that's good, please say so ^^

    IPS vs AH-IPS

Hey guys. I'm looking for a ips monitor to use it to play ps4 and watch some movies/tv shows and I found this Asus VX229H, but it has a ah-ips. From what I found online: Advanced High Performance IPS (AH-IPS) - 2011 Improved colour accuracy, increased resolution and PPI, and greater light transmission for lower power consumption. It also shows low responsive time (5ms), but I don't care about it since I already own a benq. Do you even notice a difference between ips and ah-ips? I can get that Asus model for 180 euros (243 dolars). Do you think its a good deal? Also I've looked into the 27'' model but it says it's 1080p. Isn't that weird for a 27'' ? I know nothing about monitors, its just that I thought most 27'' supported bigger resolutions. thanks in advance
  12. He wont oc. He uses mostly adobe programs. No he doesn't.
  13. He just needs the desktop, nothing else. thanks for the fast replies guys!
  14. Hey guys. A friend of mine asked for a graphic design build and his budget is around 500-600 dollars. He does a lot of work with opencl. What would you recommend? thanks in advance
  15. alright guys, thanks for all the answers! just one more thing: is there a possibility of ruining other components while checking if this card is working or not?
  16. I posted a link to imgur with 3 images, but it just showed here the first image. On the second one it shows another mark like that ones, but on the other side of the card and it was there before all this happened. I don't know how it got there, but the card was working fine. hopefully the rice with take that out
  17. I just put the "good" card back on air and the temps are fine now. I guess either the block is screwed, or I need to get new thermal pads. I also inspected the "wet" card and this is what I found what do you think Ghost?
  18. The pump is a d5, so yes, I can regulate the waterflow. I will try doing that then. The water (distilled) had about one month before this started. To kill bacterias I'm using one monsoon silver bullet. I pulled it out this weekend and it was possible to see that it was working, it wasnt cleaned, brand new anymore. btw, do you think I should get more? or is one enough?
  19. Do you think the thermal pads may be used too much? I have this block since September 2012. but again, it doesn't make any sense since Saturday it was working perfectly fine..
  20. Yeah, the tube is filled with water. This is really strange since the cpu is perfectly fine but the gpu isnt..
  21. - I used the noctua NT-H1 - Yes - Yes - Yes, cleaned it this weekend - Yes Both blocks are from the same brand (xspc). Also my 3770k (delidded) is at 30C.
  22. Hi everyone. I want to apologize in advance for the long post, but I really need your help. I own 670sli (both with waterblocks) and last week one of the cards started heating a little more than usual so I decided to fix it this past weekend. Everything went well, both cards has great temps (around 26) until Sunday afternoon my screen goes black and I thought windows screwed up. So I rebooted and after that evga precision only detects one card and the nightmare begins. I noticed one of the cards had a little bit of water between the pcb and the backplate, so I unplugged everything, removed both backplate and waterblock, cleaned and dryed everything up and now I have placed the card with a lot of rice. I also noticed the power connector extensions were humid and they are now drying. Hopefully the card will survive. I will only test this in about 3/4 weeks. Do you think it will survive? Now I have another problem (as if the other one wasnt enough). After all that mess I booted my pc with the other card (after I cheked if it had any water too, but it didnt) and now it has very hot temps.. I was in windows with a few programs opened and it was around 55C. After that I opened bf3 and it went to 102C. I immediately closed bf and then it went to 70C. It is very strange since on saturday it was around 26C. I already confirmed that thermal pads and tim are both correctly placed. I've done this several times before, I dont know why this is happening. Can anyone please help me? thank you very much and sorry for the big post.
