Just because the RAM can handle 2400Mhz does not mean the CPU or motherboard can.
You will need to set your ram at 1333Mhz 11-13-13-31 @ 1.65V then slowly up the speed to 1600, 1866, 2133, then 2400 and see when you blue screen.
You should be able to get 1866. Maybe 2133.
After you have reached your limit (lets say 1866) you have three choices. Leave it as is and be done with it, under volt the ram to save power, tighten the timings to squeeze more performance. However tightening timings can be time consuming, it's your choice.
Also DDR3 always defaults to 1333Mhz. DDR4 will always default to 2133Mhz. Doesn't matter what your ram is rated for.
A 4+1 board without a vrm heatsink with a 8370, there is only one option: topflow cooler. And a good one...
Putting a 212 on there will guaranteed give you throttling/thermal issues, aswell as an AIO, since that doesn't cool the VRM's
I'm tired of all the videos of people building "console killer" pc's but not actually testing to see if their computer can do everything that the current gen consoles can for the same or lower price. Usually the test consists of comparing the graphics quality of one game like GTA 5 or similar and then saying that "the pc clearly kicks the consoles butt". But in reality the consoles have much lower performance because some of the processing power is permanently set aside only to be used for things such as video capture, streaming, motion controls, and snapped apps. If you really want to compare the power of these two devices then the pc should be tested to see if it can run all these programs ,with the same performance, simultaneously for the same price.
I would like to see Scrapyard Wars 4, or later, where the contestant's goal is to build a gaming pc setup that includes everything you get when you buy a console. That means that:
1) The pc must run all applications in the same way that the console does with the same performance.
2) The setup must include any other devices or extras that come in the box such as an input device (controller or keyboard and mouse), webcam (excluding infrared camera), chat solution, cables, ect.
3) The total cost of the setup must cost equal to or less than it's console counterpart.
This would be a good show to have 3 contestants again. They could test three different console configurations like say one person would try to beat the base Xbox One, the second would have an Xbox One with kinect, and the third would go against a Playstation 4. With the new low prices of the consoles it would be really hard complete so because you do have to pay to play on Xbox Live or PSN you could also add in some funds for that. This would be a tough challenge but I'm sure with their skills at finding cheap used parts they would have a chance.
