take a look at the corair 600c
Edit: nevermind, I see that you had it up there

There is this case... I'm not personally a fan, but it's certainly cheaper than the 600C...

That corsair case is beautiful definitely recommend worth the extra money

I thought Phanteks had at least one like that...but I can't remember the model.

TheDoebes reacted to Dabombinable in Is there a rx 460 that does not require pcie power?
I'd go with the motherboard manufacturers with what is and isn't safe. And your not considering that the PSU without PCIe connectors are either very old (probably 10 years+ old) or dirt cheap.

TheDoebes reacted to LinusTech in Worst Tech mistake you have ever made?
I plugged a 4 pin floppy connector into a CD aux connector on a sound card when I was quite young. The blue smoke that made the sound card work escaped.

That first part I'm afraid is confidential, as far as storing it I have a commercial space running from a nearby hydro electric dam. Simply a bunch of metal racks holding gpu's with 1x to 16x powered risers.

Well I guess it make $41 a month. I guess the difficulty has doubled since I was mining it. So how much do you actually make per month and where do you store it?
-
TheDoebes reacted to Cvdasfg in Bitcoin mining still a worthwhile thing?
I currently have 157 cards, looking to get some more soon.
I have 4.7 gh/s on the ethereum network :).
May I ask what calculator you used? According to my calculator it would make $0.51 a day... which isn't a lot at all.
-
TheDoebes reacted to BuckGup in Bitcoin mining still a worthwhile thing?
Yup too risky for me. According to the online calculator it would make $87 a month. Anyways how many cards do you have?
-

Have you been mining ethereum? a 7950 certainly doesn't make $90 a month.
I own a mining farm, I have to deal with this stuff daily :P.
1080's are AWFUL for mining specifically ethereum, they are very much so unprofitable.
stock they run a 4.7 mh/s (terrible), and with mods and ubuntu they run at 15 mh/s. This is half of what a 290 will run at and you can get them for about $150
Now if your talking about buying some 290's/390's/rx480's/1070's then yes theoretically you'd make money BUT you have to know what your doing with those and ROI certainly isn't guaranteed at this point.

No Etheruem is still profitable if done right. That is the reason why all the 480s and 1060s are sold out. One 7950 makes $90 a month so 40 480s makes thousands

TheDoebes reacted to don_svetlio in Is there a rx 460 that does not require pcie power?
Actually, Toms themselves said it's perfectly safe for any boarrd made in recent years as they use 5 +12V pegs, which is 1 more than PCIe spec (which is 4 +12V pegs) so if 4 of them supply 75W then 5 would supply 85=ish W perfectly fine.

TheDoebes reacted to Dabombinable in Is there a rx 460 that does not require pcie power?
Put can the PSU supply enough power? As it doesn't have any PCIe connectors (like all of my PSU from pre 2005)

TheDoebes reacted to ARikozuM in Is there a rx 460 that does not require pcie power?
Go with the AMD then.
Hopefully it doesnt' take 85W out of the PCIe slot.

TheDoebes reacted to don_svetlio in Is there a rx 460 that does not require pcie power?
750 Ti for 100$ is travesty when 150$ gets you a lot more performance. The reference 460 was 75W without any external connectors IIRC.

TheDoebes reacted to samcool55 in Is there a rx 460 that does not require pcie power?
I would get a decent psu first.
If it doesn't even have a PEG connector it's probably trash and a big safety risk.
There is no point in having a good gpu when you run the risk of burning your house down...
That's not a joke btw, a cheap psu can catch fire and burn everything down.
It's like a cheapo chinese phone charger blowing up, only much bigger.

TheDoebes reacted to Hunter259 in Is there a rx 460 that does not require pcie power?
Sigh. Again. Motherboard manufactures have said that it's not safe. Especially on lower end boards where this would be used.

lol why would anyone put a virus in software that has the potential to do enough damage on its own
-
TheDoebes reacted to Dabombinable in Anyone have a copy of Kepler Bios Editor (KGB)?
I dunno....Prime95 could be a good cover for a botnet with what it does to Haswell/Broadwell CPU.

TheDoebes got a reaction from BolginNT in RX 480 vs. GTX 980
Then you'll probably want the 980. It'll give you more headroom for OC'ing too if you need it, and should play anything in the next two years at max/ or one setting down.
You're comparing two different tiers of cards, so unless resale value, power/thermal constraints, or longevity, matter, the higher end card is going to win out, in this case a 980.
And I'm saying this as a hardcore AMD fan.

Why am I interested in the ZBOX you ask? Well I always thought the Z 20% cooler then the X.
