Exactly this. It's a cleaner UI, in my opinion. I generally hate UI changes, but this one isn't that bad. I immediately go to my apps so the ad is in my vision for a brief second or two on the home page... and it's the only place they show up. Often times the ad is for a new Netflix show or similar that I am actually interested in.

Please link me to your /r/buildapc thread, I am interested in why they are hating on you (not so I can hate on you too, which I would never do, just want to see the context).

Linus: Any possibly you'd host your own Tech Fair down the road? I haven't heard word on NCIX doing another one :(

Went and had a great time, thanks LMG team!

I had a second of trouble finding the venue though, as in my Google Maps I had input "Intel Theatre" instead of "Inlet Theatre"  After a few searches, Google autocorrected it to Inlet Theatre!

I'm actually very curious as to which PSU he has now, as it's very likely a Seasonic OEM made PSU ?

Seasonic is the OEM of many of Corsair's AX series PSUs. Their common OEM partners are Seasonic and Flextronics... Seasonic has always been a top tier PSU manufacturer.

That's exactly right. A lot of people are very ignorant to how all of this works... It's not only Seasonic's own PSU's that will see price rises. Also, a large OEM jumping on the price increases now means you'll see fellow large OEMs raising their prices. But hell, we're saving on SSDs and RAM nowadays, so who cares right? ?

Honestly, even with tariffs on them, I won't change my SeaSonic buying habits because of that. They are pretty much the only computer parts company that gets a free pass from me because of their good track record and general product quality over their entire stack of products. So yeah, that 10$ will be cut somewhere else in my builds if need be. I'm not cheaping out on the PSU because of that.

You're selecting some low-tier "dangerous" PSU's in that case. I would never skimp on a PSU.

In a bit of an unusual move, Seasonic is announcing in advance that they intend to increase the prices of most of their power supplies in the United States. Citing "recent market developments" - i.e. the tariffs imposed by the U.S. government on select components manufactured in China - the company will be increasing the recommended prices of its products to cover the higher costs. The new MSRPs will become effective on December 1st, 2018,
Once the new prices go into effect, all Seasonic products made in China and sold in the U.S. will become $5 to $20 more expensive, depending on the product and its original price. It's worth noting that Seasonic is listing their manufacturer suggested retail prices here, and these are not the prices that retailers are actually paying for the hardware. So actual retail prices will depend both on what the real cost is to retailers, and what kind of margins they're aiming for.

RAM/SSD is coming down, PSU's are going up. Guess we can't have our cake and eat it too? Thanks, American tariffs!

Remember that Seasonic is an OEM for a lot major PSU players, so it will be more than Seasonic's own PSU's raising in prices.

EDIT: Note that these increases are in regards to the current 2018 tariffs. These tariffs are very likely to double in Q1 of 2019.

The majority of Corsair's models nowadays are made by CWT or Great Wall. But yeah they have Seasonic units too (and used to have a lot of them).
