  1. I'm looking for a mid range monitor around about £300-£500 that I intend to use mostly playing online games that require me to see people in the dark, mainly Escape from Tarkov, but also some other shooters and video games and I want to make sure I can find the best for this intended purpous so I'm asking here. Any help is appreciated I'm currently looking at this but i'm not too sure about it. I'm not concerned about if its got a curved screen or not https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Optix-MAG271CQR-144HZ-SYNC/dp/B07MW4RZGS/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=MSI+OPTIX+MAG271CQR&qid=1571392599&sr=8-1 Thank you!
  2. I was recently thinking of upgrading my old monitor to something a lot more up to date, to somthing with a higher refresh rate and such, and have been having a hard time finding something that might fit my general usage, and thought I'd make a post here for some suggestions. I mostly play video games that require me to see very well in very dark places, often where the enemy is also dark and in shadows (Like Escape from Tarkov) so I was hoping to get a monitor that could prioritise it's image contrast or something, so I can make out different types of darkness easier, but hopefully be strong in other areas too. My budget is loosly £200-£350 for a monitor, preferably a 27 inch, and I dont have any experience for calibrating it, or access to professional tools, so preferable something thats good out of the box or has a profile I can use to calibrate it. PC specs: Intel I7-8700 at 3.20ghz (not overclocked) 16GB DDR4 (unsure of speed) Geforce RTX2070 8GB Thank you for suggestions
  3. Thanks for the recommendations! I don't have a clue what I'm doing with overclocking so I'm going to go with fasauceome has suggested, though im going to have a look into that NZXT case that was suggested. Thank you both!
  4. Hello! I'm looking to build a new computer using mostly new parts and I'm looking for advice on some parts that I've picked out that I would like for my next build. I plan to use this for the most recent games and possibly streaming, along with the regular daily use of YouTube and such. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/SushiSkye/saved/#view=cYBw6h I currently already own the memory as its in my current build that I plan to dismantle and sell. Is there any recommendations, problems or maybe ways to make this cheaper? Thank you!
  5. No. I've fixed this myself. it was the graphics card. It had broken. I found this out after it game me green screens. I've already replaced it and the pc works fine now.
  6. I just look it up and a tom's hardware fourm said that if i overclock the cpu a bit, it will run fine. I have a more than capable cooler so i'll get back if it doesn't work. Thanks.
  7. Hello. I recently bought a Gtx 1060 6gb to replace my old r9 380 I am having problems with it. It works perfectly fine with day to day tasks suck as browsing the web, watching videos and such, but as soon as i play a game, I periodically get frame stutters (playing at full details 60 fps, and then i drops to about 15 frames for a second or two, even on roblox lol.) and I am not sure why. I was worried that it may be a somthing bad about my card, but when I looked it up I found i was not the only one having this problem. guides told me to use a cmd command in administrator ( bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes , it does help but didnt get rid of it) , Use Nvidia control pannel to set max frame pre-render to 1, but i dont know how to do that and some people just said its somthing to do with the drivers. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. 8. Thanks. I'm not planning to do overclocking so i can save me my £30
  9. I've been looking for a new graphics card to replace my old r9 380 which has broke (Causes graphical glitches and has started green screening when i start to play games) and i was looking at a pair of gtx 1060's. They are they look the same, except that one is shorter that the other. Is there any other difference for my extra £30 other than a longer cooler? https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GeForce-6GT-OC-NVIDIA/dp/B01IPVJ6DW/ref=sr_1_63?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1493644161&sr=1-63&keywords=msi https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GTX-1060-OC-PCI-Express/dp/B01MA3TYML/ref=sr_1_17?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1493567400&sr=1-17&keywords=GTX+1060+6gb Thank you.
  10. I've tried both of these and it has changed nothing. I used msi afterburner to crank up my GPU fan speed to 80% and it stayed around 45 degrees (Celsius) while playing squad at full settings, yet it still freezes. I took out the hyper x stick and a vengeance stick (so I had 2 sticks of ram, 8gb in total ) and tried again and still freezes. I used MSI kombustor to run a stress test and it didn't even last a second before crashing. I've also tried reinstalling C++ several times. Still no difference.
  11. I've reinstalled my crimson drivers and im still getting the same problem. Windows Memory Diagnostics says everything is fine.
  12. For some reason, when ever I attempt to play games my pc freezes to black screen and requires a hard reset to be able to use again. It does not happen on smaller games like crypt of the necrodancer or enter the gungeon, but it does on harder games such as squad and csgo. I have recently reformatted my pc, of which can play most games on the marked with ease. I have noticed when i try to play some games, steam starts first time installation and then says "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" when it gets to microsoft visuals c++ 2015, though this has only been with squad. I've tried fixing this by re-installing it, but the same things happen. System specs: Bitfenix NOVA case Gigabyte 990X gaming motherboard. MSI R9 380 (Factory clock, no tweaking) Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHZ 4GB DDR 3 x2 HyperX fury 1600MHZ 8GB DDR3 x1 kingstone 240GB ssd Seagate barracuda 1T Tp link pci-e internet card Aerocool VP pro 850 Watts
  13. Hello, and thankyou for the advice, unfortunatly I am not getting the blue screen of death. It is freezing to black screen and glichy audio with nothing I can do about it. I'll try this anyway to see if it works, but im sure its a different problem im having. Also im not sure what a minidump is. Thankyou.
  14. It freezes to a black screen and plays the last second or so of audio over and over again to make a screech like noise. Im currently playing with msi afterburner to under clock my gpu incase its because its overheating.
  15. The last couple of months my computer has been crashing on various, and selective games. It will crash on csgo, euro truck simulator 2 and a gold simulating game that is advertised by amd in its driver installation. It is only these games. I can play things like arma 3 (heavily modded), garry's mod and gta 5 just fine.I tried changing different drivers and memory check. The drivers didn't help and memory tests do not yield results. I've tried validating files and re installing games. I dont think its a wattage problem because I have a 850 watt psu. Please help. My specs are: Bitfenix NOVA case Gigabyte 990X gaming motherboard. AMD 8350 black edition (No over clocking, water cooled with Corsair H60 single fan.) MSI R9 380 (Factory clock, no tweaking) Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHZ 4GB DDR 3 x2 HyperX fury 1600MHZ 8GB DDR3 x1 kingstone 240GB ssd Seagate barracuda 1T Tp link pci-e internet card Aerocool VP pro 850 Watts Thank you.
  16. Hello. For some reason, my computer keeps crashing and completely freezes up while playing games Euro Truck Simulator and War Thunder. I'm not sure why it does this. I think it may be a fault within the ram but i'm not sure about it. It is specific to these two games so far, as I can play other games such as Arma 3 and Csgo perfectly fine with no errors. My specs are: Bitfenix NOVA case Gigabyte 990X gaming motherboard. AMD 8350 black edition (No over clocking, water cooled with Corsair H60 single fan.) MSI R9 380 (Factory clock, no tweaking) Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHZ 4GB DDR 3 x3 HyperX fury 1600MHZ 8GB DDR3 x1 kingstone 240GB ssd Seagate barracuda 1T Tp link pci-e internet card Aerocool VP pro 850 Watts I have not done any modding or tweeking for any of these parts, and i have had them for over 6 months. These problems have ony started appearing within the last month. Thank You.
  17. Thanks. I'm just a bit scared of the RX's because my card is the previous gen and it warms my room up like a radiator.
  18. Yep, as long as does not do what my R9 does and go 90 degrees when i use it.
  19. Im looking for a graphics card to replace my old R9 380 and i don't know what to get. I was thinking of getting a Gtx 1050Ti but i'm not sure if i should try and find another card for around a different price point. If possible can i have some advise of a reference for a card around the £150 - £200 price points
  20. I dont know anything about asrock motherboards since i have never delt with one, but if its a .zip or .rar file, you may need winrar to get to the thing inside. If its a .exe just run it.
  21. I use one of these. It's really good for £100, but i have a budget build.
  22. That looks Pretty good, But i'd reccomend you to get a beefier cooler like a noctua NH-U14S ultra. I would also reccomend that instead of getting 2 video card, get 1 that is around the same price point as most games dont support crossfire, and also it would be more powerfull, and allow better airflow and cable managment. Just saying though.
  23. I just built a new computer with a cool now radiator at such, but i'm worried about the GPU temps. Does anyone know the software linus likes to use during his bench marks to measure this sort of stuff? or something similar. Oh and also while i'm here, can anyone recommend any fan controlling software, gigabyte software just is not working on my PC so i need a new solution.
